While we’re discussing little hints and tricks, here’s one for those summoner necromancer builds. When doing Baal runs, it can be a bit annoying trying to build up a decent army before running into the throne room. So I wander over to Anya’s portal and pop over to Nilathak’s garden. In there, I can turn the corpses into skeletons, up to the point where the corpses revive themselves. I can typically get 8 to 10 skeletons animated before I pop out and run up to an awaiting town portal to the throne room.
punha (at least, I think it was punha) reports that the new 40char is ready. So are folks up for a rush in about two hours? I can run it.
Pul, Hel, Gul and Lum from forges last night (early AM for me). Lemme know what else gets found, as I won’t be on again until probably Saturday afternoon.
On a whim late last night, when Punoqllads and I were muling, I asked him to run a NIGHTMARE hellforge quest since I was muling with the sorc in #4 (she didn’t get to hell yet), and I got an Um rune.
I will never ever ignore a NM hellforge quest again and I don’t think anyone else should either. It doubles your chance of a rare rune, especially when I personally have gotten turkeys in hell (hel, dol, io, shael, etc.) Any rune higher than that from a NM hellforge quest? What’s the best anyones gotten in NORMAL?
Here are the ranges for Hellforge drops:
Normal: El-Amn
Nightmare: Sol-Um
Hell: Hel-Gul
I think the highest you can get in normal forge is Thul, which is still nothing to sneeze at. Well, unless you get pneumonia from the cold, like your mother always warned. Then you might sneeze at it. But it can go all the way down to El, which is something to sneeze at. On the gripping hand, of course, you get all those gems, which are probably themselves enough justification to do normal forges.

Next 40rusher will be started once all the nm and hell forges have been completed (1: because it’s boring as hell and 2: because we need another 40rusher). One of the sd-team1 mules will become our next durimule.
Hi all, just wanted to thank you for helping out my low-level sorc.
Nature’s Peace highlighted tonight’s run. It also means that if we equip it on a char who will kill everything, we can safely (well, more safely) run Nihl. Someone will have to get the Halls WP for us to be able to do this without Seeker TPing down three levels of Nihl Halls. I’m fairly tired right now, so I won’t yet outline the plan for this, but it’s a bit convoluted - though pretty easy once you understand it.
If two folks are on at once tomorrow, let’s try to get the mules’ barbarian quests done in at least norm and nm. It’s 3 non-horrible runes. Also need a few chip top, saph, ameth.
Note that Rest In Peace only works with monsters slain by weapon damage, so Seeker is out of the question. Best bet would probably be the barbarian, unless we custom-make a character to use it. I don’t think that RIP would work with my assassin, but it wouldn’t hurt for me to bring her along anyway, I think: Pindleskin and friends wouldn’t be very profitable for her anyway, so she can be the one to get the waypoint, and Death Sentry and Mind Blast should help make Nihlathek a bit safer.
That is to say, if this lag issue resolves itself. As it is right now, the game is unplayable for me, and it being the weekend, I don’t expect anything to be fixed before Monday at least.
Uh… hate to tell you… but Munch is correct. Amn can (and did for my newest barb) drop from the normal Hellforge. He’s level 40 now and can be there if you need him for a mule run. I’ll be starting the javazon this morning.
Here’s a question: would RIP work for things my merc kills? Another, totally unrelated question: if I cast enchant with an item containing a facet, will the dmg increase accordingly?
A frenzybarb? I’m not so sure about that. Our other option is to manufacture a ww barb. I think it would probably take 20 hours to get it to lvl 80. Who_me? is currently making a frenzy/ww barb (frenzy to get attack speed up, ww to finish stuff off). I am loathe to pair anything but godliness with The Sword, but if that’s what must be done for now, so be it.
Any road, a barb will want to be around for shouts and for body disposal, and a paladin to take care of Nihl’s pesky defense. I’m thinking the whole of the run will probably take over five minutes safely-done.
And while Amn can drop, so can Thul. That’s what Chronos and I were both trying to say. Highest from Norm forge is Thul.
Realized my error in the forge. I can’t believe, as many thuls as I’ve muted to amn, that I forgot that.

And whenever you guys decide to do a mule run for the forge, my Barb is 40 and my zon is 32 at the moment. A game just lagged out so I’m off for a few minutes. She’ll be 40 in a little while.
I’m flying out to America tomorrow morning, and because of the time I need to leave I’m wanting to be up all night. Will anyone be playing from around midnight GMT to 6am (5pm-11pm Western time) to help keep me awake? I can either rush the summoner Druid or help start up new characters.

It was pretty quiet today, no one was on tonight. Between leveling my new zon, I took a look at the mules on the sdteam accounts. There is some nice items on some of them, some stuff I think I could use. What are the rules about taking items off the mules?
Also, I’ve gotten my zon up to level 18, I have a bunch of skill points unassigned. I still haven’t decided what type of zon to make. I was thinking about making a bowazon with freezing arrow as the main attack. What should I put points into besides that? How many points should be put into the crital strike, evade, dodge, etc?
The hell we weren’t;) Punq and I were on last night, though he slipped off before you get there and I slipped out when my baal run died.
My rules, and these don’t necessarily apply to anyone else, is don’t lose what you took, put it back when you’re done with it (unless you’re going to keep it) and let us know what you took so we don’t go frantically scrambling around trying to find an item that isn’t lost at all.
You should find some bows on one of my 40rushers, I believe. They might be on the paladin. I believe I’ve given the password before, but if not I guess you’ll just have to wait and suffer;)
