I’m building up an Ice sorc on B net anyone got sugestions on what put my stats and skills in

I am not yet familiar enough with the cold tree synergies to give anything close to reliable advice, so I will go with the tried and true “unless you mess up bad, a sorc is defined by her gear”. Also, if you are building this girl to rush for pay, you will have a different build and gear from the sort you’d use if you were running a particular area/beast over and over again, and especially if you are doing it in Hell instead of NM.
From my limited experience with sorcs, I would not make one that relied heavily on the cold tree unless I had at least +6 skills (not hard to get … +2 orb, +1 shield, +1 helm and +1 amulet), and then I would figure out if you are going to slow or freeze and go with the appropriately matching fire skill in that case. When the gear becomes less expensive I expect we shall see a dramatic rise in novasorcs (but then, in my week away from the game it is possible that the shaft/occy novasorcs have come back in full force), who are for my money the fastest killers in the game with the advent of rainbow jewels and the lack of piercing on GA … and of course with the exception of the properly-built armymancer, though with the lag that can introduce I wonder if perhaps that isn’t a touch slower than a sorc, since she does not introduce as much delay into the game and thus other partied members can keep on hacking away at stuff. I will say that Hell Diablo lasted roughly three seconds with a sorc with static field and a fully-built necro’s army hacking away with concentrate on them.
The problem with +skills, though, is that Fenris long ago laid claim to the uber sorc gear I find (he wants a novasorc of his own). I think once one of us finds a skins of the vipermagi he will be fairly well set along with a few other pieces I have happened upon.
That “Chromatic Staff” thing I found is +3 to all Skills and +1 to Cold Mastery, +1 to Lightning Mastery and +1 to Fire Mastery among other things (+35 or so to all resists, faster cast, etc). That help for a start? 
Two important (to me) things happened yesterday.
- I did my first Hell Baal run (and my second, third, etc…)
- Found my first actual useful unique (besides a gull) for a completed character. (Infernostride)
I’m still doing mostly NM mfing and I’m working my runes upward…slowly. I have no plans this weekend partially due to the snow, so I’m going to try to hit it hard this weekend. I got no disconnects yesterday, so it looks like they got the problem in hand.
As for sorc gear, I have some stuff that my sorc has grown out of, so if I see one of you in game, I’ll pass whatever it is onward.

The new Elite unique staff is +5 to all skills… Hopefully, one of use can find an Occulus or two. It’s an orb, +3 to all, and 50% mf. It’s real nice for a sorc.
Wow, I hadn’t even noticed those elite staves… It’s hard to tell which would be better, since Ondal’s Wisdom can get up to +4 skills (almost a match for Mang Song’s Lesson’s +5) and 45% faster cast (better than the 30%). And here I was thinking that ultimate equipment would be an Eschuta’s Temper or Occulus together with a Lidless Wall.
If I can just get a character to be able to survive hell alone…
I know it can be done. I just played my non-ladder barb for a bit, he survived in hell quite easily… killing everything in his path…
Chronos, I would rather have +4 skills with blocking than +5 skills without, but that is just me and my preference to have a chance not to get made into mash by those axe-wielding bastids in worldstone. YMMV;)

Well fluid, we play in games called SDMB with the pass “cecil” most of the time. I always play there. I have a unique great maul if you are interested…Steeldriver I think.
I am Slayer Glardok the Barbarian on US West. Chronos gave me some better rings and some other stuff last night, which was very cool. He also helped me make a Blood sharkskin glove, which should be really useful for mowing down the hordes with my WW. Does anyone have a Lem rune, I need it to make Passion on my sword? And do you think a dimensional blade is a good choice for Passion, or should I try for some other 4-socket? My build is a bit funky (and maybe not so effective, it’s an experiment), I have sword mastery 10, spear mastery 16, WW 14 or so, and some Iron Skin and Resist and other stuff, but no War Cries.
DAMN!! Lag out got me and Voltaire a minute ago. I found a Goldwrap and he had told me earlier that he’d upgraded his and could no longer wear it.
I offered to trade him and he had accepted and the game stopped. Luckily (I think) we both have our belts and can trade later.

Looks like I was rewarded for my patience. Normal Baaling yielded me a 163% Titan’s. Since I don’t have a zon yet, I might consider a lucrative trade…
Who_me?, the two uses I have for a Fal are as follows:
- Lionheart for someone who desperately needs it;
- Rune transmutions.
I am unable to do countess runs right now (we’re housesitting tonight), but I will attempt to do a few over the next week or so. Exams are coming up, I have 38 pages of journal to write for my english class and a few boxes of things to sell on Ebay, so time will be tight.
I’ve been having a problem ever since I went to 1.10.
In Kurast Docks, I can not get to Alkor. As I run up from Warriv, the game locks just before I get to the last set of paths before his hut. If I WP to the docks and head left, it locks a few steps onto the planks/walkway off the main, center, stone area.
From there I’m hung for a few-5 seconds then kicked out to my desktop. Restarting yields nothing. I’ve noticed this on SA and Bnet games.
Advice? Ideas?
