I don’t know why I didn’t do this before but I’m only now adding my pick of the best threads to my IE Favourites list. In other words, I’m fishing because I don’t know where to start.
There are some absolute gems – entertainment you’d pay good money for – but what’s your personal favourite SDMB thread ?
Unless another one crops up, at the moment I’m plumping for the Sex Shop workers thread where Serlin jumps onboard quite early (in another guise, IIRC), we then go on that amazing roller coaster ride for three pages before Arnold steps in with the most sublime twist in the tale – anyone got that link
Another chance for me to plug Halvsie, the two-legged dog. Stick through the first couple replies, where some people take me seriously (even with the swimming in circles bit!) and things really get good when Eve decides to put Halvsie in a TV show.
I also liked the SDMB protest thread, but I can’t find it on a search. (When I search I get a protest thread, but not the protest thread that made Threadspotting.) I’m afraid it may have gotten pruned to help speed the server.
I also liked this thread about my balls. Warning, it is kinda rude, so if you’re easily offended you may want to stay away. It’s one of my ruder threads which degenerates into silliness with me declaring a holiday and writing a song.
Excellent start people and thank you. Yeah, the 'Intimate Moments one’s a good 'un Crunchy: “Is that a leg…” What I’m hoping for is the real classics and not, at least for me, necessarily what comes immediately to mind.
Just remembered the projectile goat projectile thing…the strength of the sheet needed for a safe landing…another one I’d like ?
I’ve spent the last couple of days reading Christianity and Love and it’s two sequels. It completely did my head in, but it’s wonderful stuff. (I actually had a dream about Polycarp last night. Luckily, FriendofGod did not make an appearance.)
Ahhh… what immediately pops into my head is Karellen’s cockles-of-my-heart warming Possible ONION Headlines (Warning: WTC Humor) thread, started 9/17. That thread was the first time I was able to laugh out loud in a week.
And, IMO nothing the Onion came up with itself even remotely came close to what’s in that thread. Going back and rereading it, it’s still a Grade A hoot, definitely one for the Permanent Archives. Zotti, you listening?
Could someone please find and provide a link for the Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer thread that ran last December? That was the funniest thread I have ever read, total proof that Dopers can corrupt anything!
But puleeese do NOT respond to them, o.k.? Reviving old threads just adds to the workloads of the Administrators, Moderators, and the Almighty Server.
