Okay, the Pit is where people can go to rant and be obnoxious, right? Lately, two of my favorite people, Navigator and Smooth Operator, have embedded nice, dinner invitation threads in the Pit. Which has bugged Alphagene no end.
So here’s my logic. If the Pit is where one can be obnoxious, and if Alphagene finds niceness in the Pit to be obnoxious, then let’s do a thread where we compliment Alphagene!
To get it started:
I think Alphagene is an exceptionally good moderator, evenhanded and acting wisely and without rancor, carefully evaluating the stuff that gets thrown in here and treating the posters who dump here with decency and respect.

I agree putting up with people in the pit and keeping his cool has to say alot about the character of this dude named Alphagene.
Also I think poly is on to something about anti ranting on people instead of ranting on them. Here is idea for a new forum how about one where you compliment another posted instead of flaming them. And you could call it the “Loft”.

I think it would be well worth my time and effort to follow Alphagene around the boards and put “Great Post Alpha! I totally agree!” after everything he writes. Either that, or change my sig to something along the lines of “Whatever Alphagene says is A-OK with me!”.
“Riled”? “Bugged to no end”? Pssht. I sent a lovely email to SmoothOperator, explaining that I wasn’t, in fact, riled.
We mock what we do not understand.
Oh that thread. The one where rude obnoxious holier-than-thou Lady Bird Johnson wannabes are giving me courtesy lessons. I personally think I did an excellent job of pointing out the hypocrisies of that rabid flock of Woodsy the Owls.
I did learn my lesson though. Thanks to that thread I now know that littering is WRONG. Yup. In fact, I’m off to buy an Altoids tin right now. No really. snicker

You don’t have to do that, Alphagene. You can have mine. I found out that smoking is bad, m’kay. So I don’t need my portable ashtray anymore. :rolleyes:
