Am I alone in my dislike for boiled and fried eggs?

I can only eat eggs cleverly hidden in things like brownies. I haven’t had a recognizable egg in probably 42 years. It’s too bad, too. Eggs would be so convenient as a single person. If only they weren’t eggs.

Er, I missed the bit where you were talking about hard-boiled eggs. I was talking normal boiled eggs, which do often have a booby trap bit of snotty white goop in them unless I err on the side of caution and pretty well hard-boil them.

The only style of eggs I can eat is baked inside a dough.

Hello brother! I can’t abide eggs in any form and for many years I sort of assumed I was allergic (the smell, never mind the taste) would just make me heave. It finally dawned on me - why, yes I am a slow learner - that I’m not allergic at all, since I can eat cake.

I wish I did like eggs. They’re cheap, quick and easy to prepare and a good source of protein.

Boiled eggs are da devil. I get sick if I eat food that touched it.

Scrambled and omelettes are fine.

I hate hard-boiled egg stink too. A fellow Doper accurately described them as smelling like farts that precede stinky diarrhea.

I do like baked goods with eggs in them though (cookies, cakes.) The eggs don’t reek in them, of course.

I don’t mind hard boiled for flavor. They do stink though.

I love fried eggs, over easy, sunny side up, poached…

Eggs Benedict and any variation thereof is my favorite.

What on earth is a normal boiled egg, and how does it differ from a hard boiled egg?

I assume it’s a soft-boiled egg.

I suppose. It’s awfully difficult to slightly cook the yolk without cooking the white through, though.

Fried eggs, ugh. The rest are OK. My BF loves fried eggs, but got very annoyed the other day at a restaurant that, as he called it, “laced the eggs.” I had never heard that term for fried eggs that get a little too thin and overcooked at the edges, but I knew exactly what he meant.

I don’t like boiled eggs. I will not eat egg salad or deviled eggs. I’m ok with hard scrambled eggs (those whippy baby food things are gross), omelettes, and fried egg whites, I don’t like fried egg yolk (though hard fried is edible) and I won’t touch a runny egg yolk or anything that it has leaked or oozed onto.
