Am I here?

If I navigate away from SDMB, does my little green dot go away at that time? Or does it stay on for a bit?

Often, especially when I’m working or running an errand, I’ll leave SDMB open. Do I still show as being here, when I haven’t clicked on anything for an hour or so?

You’re here as of this moment.

As long as you’re logged in, you’re green. I think you get auto logged out after 30 min.

You are here ●

It’s green now.

For me, as of now, you’re not here.

I never log out. Or, when I come back to the page I’m automatically logged in.

It’s like the fridge. Every time I look, the light is on.

I stayed on the page, but left for 10 or 20 minutes.

What you need is a window into your fridge. And by “fridge”, in this context I mean “sternum”.

Open a different browser (one that doesn’t automatically log you in) and check repeatedly over the course of say, an hour, to see how long it takes for you to vanish.

Good luck.

Of course not. Are you in Chicago? (checks location) No. Are you in Pomona? No. Are you in Albuquerque? Nope. Given that you’re not in Chicago, Pomona or Albuquerque, you must be somewhere else–and if you’re somewhere else, you’re clearly not here.

I use that one a lot.

Everywhere you go, there you are.

But there is no there there.

I’ve looked all around my office and you are most definitely not here. Unless you’re the strange guy in the corner who hordes all the pens. But I’ve been told his name is Peter, so I’m guessing that’s not you.

Any chance you remember enough of the dialogue to find it on YouTube or similar?

Who said that?

You’re not here. And neither am I.

(Where’s the Ninja smilie when you need it?)

Right here: :)

Wow, a horde of pens? Scary!
