J.D. never actually did anything to the door or to the janitor. I remember reading somewhere about the dr. who thought up the show and he said that there really was this maintainence man who took a dislike to him and tortured him for no apparent reason.
I loved it and watched it religiously during the first season, and it came on after my #1 favorite show - Frasier. Why oh why did they have to move it? I hate that. I’ve lost track of, and interest in, other shows because the networks insist on moving them around. I haven’t seen any of the new season because I haven’t gotten used to its new time slot and I don’t watch Friends (ugh).
Hmm. I kinda felt he did it because he said it in a guilty way and he seemed oddly specific. Although they never really said anything one way or another. But it’s been months since I saw that episode. Actually I only saw it off the web so the picture was much smaller.

I adore this show. I’ve liked Sarah Chalke since her ill-fated turn as “faux Becky” on Roseanne, and Donald Faison cracked me up in “Clueless” so I decided to check out the first episode and I was instantly hooked. I don’t think I’ve missed a show, which is more than I can say for anything else on the air. I’ve got to hand it to the writers for all of their subtle, unexplained jokes that force the viewers to actually think a little. The show is a perfect contender for the Friends spot next year.
I love this show! It’s one of the few shows that I have stuck with now that I’ve cut back on my TV watching. Well worth my time, and very rewatchable on tape for all the quick takes and rapidfire dialog. I love to see Dr. Cox tear into J.D. (love the neverending cycle of girl’s names) and the others every week.
Plus it reminds me of my cousin who is doing his residency now, he can vouch for the accuracy of the medical humor. He has a friend (also a doctor now) who is so like The Todd that it’s frightening.
