Yeah, this is my main way of enjoying it. Same with hazelnut liqueur.
Nitpick: some brands may be almond-based, but most use apricot pits instead, for a nearly identical taste.
I remember, way back when as a newbie to drinking, having Dr Pepper shots. Like a car bomb, but use shitty beer and drop a shot of Amaretto in it. Tastes like Dr Pepper.
If you’re feeling frisky, float some 151 on top of the Amaretto and light it on fire for a flaming Dr Pepper.
Amaretto with a layer of flaming 151 on top is called a “Cyanide”.
And dropping it into a beer turns your Cyanide into a Flaming Dr Pepper.
