Amazing Race 6/26 -- slow and steady wins the.. uh, nevermind (spoilers)

Another vote for the Supremes here, but the clowns are cool too. The latest issue of Sports Illustrated, btw, identifies the “NFL wives/mothers” as Monica Ambrose, wife of New Orleans Saints (and formerly Atlanta Falcons) cornerback Ashley Ambrose, and Sheree Buchanan, wife of Falcons cornerback Ray Buchanan. They quote Ray as being surprised that he wasn’t the first to go rappelling and bungee-jumping, and how hard it is for Sheree not to tell even him what happened.

I really want someone to slap Tian and Jaree. Someone other than Tian and Jaree, that is. They’re like Flo squared.

Millie and Chuck had been my favorites until this week; they haven’t flipped to the bottom of the pile, but Millie needs to figure out the difference between a setback and a major problem. As has been pointed out, they had a plenty big lead on several teams when they decided the FF was necessary. And they looked like they still thought they might be last. That said, it does look like the FF gave them a several-hour head start (which will of course evaporate at the first bunching point next episode).

Kelly and Jon infuriate me. They’re just so petty. Their primary gripe about M&C is Millie’s mole? Please. The slippery penis comment was pretty funny, though.

I like the clowns. The NFL wives are growing on me; I didn’t like them at all first episode, but I’ve warmed to them.

Last week I was annoyed with how poorly the ATC’s were racing and this week I was happier with them until they hit the detour. Did either of the teams going for the cheese realize how much 500kg is? It was bad enough with Chip and Richein but at least they were in decent enough shape to move 500kg of cheese. If the ATC went for the manuer they would likely have stayed in it and they were clearly having a lot more fun than most of the other teams. I know I’m backward but I like seeing people enjoying themselves more than I do fighting.

The FF playing was tricky but I think Millie and Chuck did the right thing. Note that the team that doubled back lost pretty much the entire lead on the lagging teams. Also this leg was perfectly set up for a strategic FF since it was conveniently placed and bypassed quite a bit of travel. Finally those two clearly needed a break. If another team had decided to go for it I might be a bit more dubious but it was okay.

Of the surviving teams the Clowns seem to be the most on top of things. The Supremes aren’t doing shabby either (and if they can go one more week without saying “Since we’re married to professional athletes…” I’ll definitely be pulling for them).

Finally, does anyone else get the impression that the detour included express instructions not to say the word “shit”? The fact that no one had to get bleeped once in that entire sequence makes me suspicious.

Good point – but there was one bleep, when an ingoing team and an outgoing team passed in their cars (don’t recall who they were, but it was early on). You’re right, though, calling it “poo” was clearly cracking them up. (I’m thinking the producers may have worn out the bleep equipment after the first leg, when the potty-mouth from South Dakota got every other word deleted.)

I got that impression too, that they had no idea how much 500 kg is. I think one of the teams (ATCs maybe) looked really surprised when they got the first load to the scale and were told, of course, that they needed to bring a lot more.

It’s too bad the ATCs got eliminated, but it was inevitable, they were lucky to have lasted this long. I was really hoping for Team Catfight to get lost on the way to the pit stop so the ATCs could last a bit longer (and get rid of the annoying models of course)

Count me in with the clown fan club. They kind of remind me of Ken and Gerard from last time, only in better physical shape. And the NFL wives are growing on me.

As long as Tian and Jaree (or however the hell you spell that) are the next team eliminated, I’ll be happy.

I don’t know whats wrong with the Catfighters, but they sure are messed up! The Virgins are annoying. I can’t stand Millie. I couldn’t imagine doing the race with her; just watching her in action drives me nuts. The gay guys I don’t really mind - so long as they don’t win. If only cuz the name Reichen is stupid.

Don’t people have compasses? How hard can it really be to navigate through those cannals? And I was really worried when the NFL wives got stuck. I too have grown to like this team.

So with that episode done, my favourites are the Clowns & the NFL Wives.

It was a wierd episode. Instead of bunching they made more seperation. The plane fights just really screwed the ATC. But their take it slow level headed approach almost got them another reprieve, as everybody else jumped around like idiots. By the way, when do the “Hehe we were just kidding around this time, nobody gets eliminated” start?

The Pile of Poo bothered me. . . a lot! The contestants did not wear gloves. That was just disgusting. Just thinking about how bad that must have smelled makes me want to . . .upchuck!

Sorry about the Air Traffic Controllers. They were nice guys, I guess, but they were really out of their league in this race that requires smarts, cooperation and physical ability. They were OK on the first two items but just couldn’t hack the last.

Millie and Chuck? They’re toast! They’ll never see the altar and probably won’t see the end of this race. Maybe Reichen will throw over Chip and hook up with Chuck!!!

I’m not looking forward to the race going to India. India depresses me.

And even though I hate clowns, I’m almost sure these clowns will be in the final three. They’re really good at this race.

One thing I forgot in my last post: Phil’s Sweater!
Was that not the UGLIEST garment ever?
I hope his mother didn’t knit if for him. Phil, come on, you’re a sharp guy! Get some better duds!

Ohh, I missed it this week, so thanks for all the info on what I missed.

I cannot stand Kelly, she’s a raving bitch. I feel very sorry for Jon.

I like M&C, I think they are very cute…and could pull out of this OK, if they keep it together and communicate a little better.

I like the NFL wives and the Clowns too.

The married guys…they remind me a bit of those other gay guys that were on the 2nd (I think) Amazing Race and I HATED them. And one of them smacked Millie in the lip a few episodes ago, that was just rude.

The models I don’t like either, but I’d rather see Kelly out first.

Ummm, small correction: Millie cut one of the married guys’ lips. Not sure which one. Don’t know which one is Chip and which one is Reichen. And I have to defend them cuz I have them in the office pool!

Ohhh that’s right, after he hit her, she cut HIS lip. Still hate them.

Bwahahaha…

Sorry!
