A bit too preachy of an episode, but I did love the gag about God’s SO requiring him to use a condom.
Not a bad episode but yea, a little preachy.
I liked his daughter’s singing voice. Anyone happen to know who does the voice work for her?
Ashlee Simpson.
That gag was from Family Guy, actually.
According to IMDB: creater Seth MacFarlane’s sister, Rachel MacFarlane.
I agree so far. A bit preachy for my taste, and a bit predictable. Saw the set-up robbery(Paranoid Stan gets tied up so haley has to save them? Sure…) and the “cure” coming. Steve’s quite gulliable, too.
The ice-cream amublance was cute though.
Family Guy has been a bit of a slump the last several episodes. It is still ok, but it was REALLY shining there early in the season.
But I am still glad I watched:
-
I liked Roger’s plan for revenge after Chris took his cookie. And that Chris LOVED the outcome. Those poor parents!
-
The Kiss!
-
Francine’s rape discussion.
-
Francine wanting to do the sex tape.
Man, is that Francine a vixen or what?
Steve. Chris is the kid on family guy. Steve is the Kid on American Dad. But then again, when you started the post, you said “Family Guy”.
Oh yeah, did anyone notice that the newspaper headline was “Big Bird dies of Asian bird flu”?
I might be wrong, but I believe the exact words were “Big Bird dies of Big bird flu”
My biggest fear when I heard that McFarlane was producing another show was that Family Guy would suffer due to his divided attention. To a large extent I think this has happened. The shows just aren’t different enough, and both are trending towards mediocrity.
Well, keep in mind American Dad was greenlighted before Family Guy.
I think the shows are a bit too similar, though what constitutes “too” similar is probably debatable. I’d like to see FG stick more to pop culture parody and leave the political/Bush jokes solely to AD. I wouldn’t want to see Family Guy dated in five years (more than it would be anyway), whereas I wouldn’t mind American Dad being a Bloom County-style “current events” sort of show.
Family Guy was on the air years before American Dad.
I think he means before Family Guy was greenlighted to come back, out of cancellation.
Yes, but t’was cancelled, after which Seth Macfarlane came up with American Dad.
I agree somewhat. I sometimes have a hard time remember which joke went in which show and inevtiably one looks bad compared to the other, being on back to back.
There seems to be a wierd pendulum effect going, IMHO. It seems to go back and forth between “Higher Quality show” and “Lesser Quality show”, both withen each series and between series.
I think it was ‘Big Avian Flu’.
It was okay, but it was a really good episode in terms of funny bits.
“pen-gun, mightier than the sword…Sword-gun, mightier than the pen-gun”
“Its not gay there’s guns in the room!”
“Go on gun, kill!”
ACL Lou was pretty funny too.
Roger being very evil was a great one too. I like the scene where he’s burning Steve’s baby pictures. “Look at little stevsie sleep… You snooze you lose!”
