Ugh. (re Hillbilly Pollyanna)
16-year-old Henry Winkler singing “Yesterday” was good too.
And his dad is hot. I feel old.
I’ll give her “yo yo, dawg.” That was pretty funny.
I liked the “real life Artie” too.
I thought Minnie Mouse was genuine. I do not think I want to listen to that voice for too long. Also, Steve checking out the under age girls is freakin’ creepy.
Tyler is a scream. “Did you eat a lot of paint chips when you were a child?”
I’m disappointed that the Japanese kid isn’t for real. Was hoping he’d be good.
What will happen to Cancer Dad if daughter doesn’t make it? This is what’s keeping him hanging on.
P.S. I think Randy told her to get her dad to protect her from Steven.
I think Stephen and JLo are doing a great job!
I like that so far there aren’t focusing on as many really bad singers as good ones.
Japanese guy was a good dancer. I’m kinda sad he couldn’t sing.
Oh, and DtC? Your presence is requested in the thread about the new Brett Favre commercial that I just posted in the Game Room. I figure you’d probably enjoy it.
Why did he not talk with an accent but sang with a thick one. I mean the poor Puerto Rican.
. Yeah…but I haven’t seen The One yet.
Wow, I’m surprised to find that I’m really liking the chemistry among the new judges.
Tyler is a lot of fun and he’s good at bantering with the auditioners and putting them at ease. I thought he would be annoying, but he’s not, so far. When the live shows start, we’ll see how much he’s been edited in these audition rounds.
Lopez wants to be the “nice” judge, but she still has realistic opinions and isn’t completely avoiding negative comments, so that puts her ahead of Paula and Ellen in my book. Plus, Jennifer is still *smoking *hot and I could just watch her for the whole show with the sound muted.
Randy seems to be stepping up into a leadership position and being more forthcoming with his own opinions now, where in the past he often just echoed Simon’s critiques.
I liked Simon, but he always overshadowed Randy, Paula, Kara, and Ellen. With him gone it looks like there will be more “equity” among these three judges.
As far as the contestants, none of them really wowed me and I was surprised at some that made it through–especially that freaky over-energetic showtunes girl.
Hillbilly girl could get annoying very soon, but I thought she was hilarious. Her “yo, yo, dawg” had me cracking up.
Oh please oh please oh please let her stick around in Hollywood long enough for group day. I’m calling this right now: Her groupmates are going to beat the living snot out of her.
That was fucking horrific – stop shitting all over my state, you fucking Tatiana Del Toro wannabe. If you’d knock it off with the act, maybe it’d come through that you’re one of the better singers we saw. Guess someone has to fulfill the “trainwreck” role.
Almost 30 minutes in, and I’m liking the new set of judges more than I thought I would, too - Steven seems to be taking it just the right amount of serious, and J. Lo has more to her than a lot of people thought (I thought she’d be good - she’s more talented than people give her credit for).
Holy crap - Jersey girl is a major butterface!
Jersey Girl is not a bad singer. If she would just sing and knock off all the other crap, she’d be fine.
Robbie Rosen. He was good - gonna keep my eyes on this kid.
I thought he was a little breathy and boy band, but likebale enough.
Cancer dad girl was a little overrated. Not terrible, but she was missing some notes. She got through on her back story. Same with shelter boy.
