Okay, I loved Josiah’s version of Grace Kelly more than I liked his audition. And Danny is just…amazingly good.
It totally skeeves me out when the contestants don’t brush their teeth and tongues before performing. Usually they’ve obviously been drinking Coke.
They do have a song list, and IIRC, it’s pretty long and varied. I read an interview with the Castro-looking dude from last season that said it had something like 100 songs on it.
That was the first time I’ve heard it on Idol. Who did it before ‘Van Down By the River’?
That was ballsy of him to do that song and I liked it.
Sorry, it was on the Swedish version of Idol (which is, ambiguously, called only Idol).
So, did they get rid of the big room? You know when they tell huge rooms of contestants that they need to go home?
I can’t decide if them changing the competition every season during Hollywood week is sorta better, since the contestants all start from the same page with no preconceived ideas.
OTOH, change is bad, waaah.
I think that comes a bit later in the process.

Wow, “Bohemian Rhapsody” was pretty incredible, although he didn’t really try for the highest notes.
