:sigh: Well, I can’t rip on Gay Danny out loud at our house. My daughter has a little crush on him.
But here online I can mention that I think he’d be a GREAT Cher impersonator.

My idea is to use a “golf” scoring system. Lowest score wins.
We’ll each rank the contestants for their final place: 1. Alice 2. Bob 3. Charlie, etc. Each week when someone is voted off, we compare their place with what we guessed. So the first week, if Megan is sent home, but I said she’d be #10, I’d get 2 points (12-10) because I was two off.
Someone who was perfect would end the season with zero points. Everyone else would have higher (worse) scores.
Did I explain that well enough? It seems simple to me.
I like this system because it should keep scores fairly close, yet quickly differentiate us. Each week will see our scores change (compare to last year). I think it work well.
I noticed that too. But I actually think her break-down helped her, it gave her lungs and throat a warm-up and got her tension out of the way. If she could find a way to get into that state without the emotional jag, she would be a much better singer overall.
I thought Jason sang much better on his farewell, too. He was much more relaxed without the pressure of the competition.
Ahhh, beautiful! It’s very similar in its execution to the method I had been working on, but going with low score makes it so much simpler. Love it!
Oh, yeah, Amanda really sounded terribly phlegmy to me, & there’s no way she got this far if she normally sounds like that.
The big reason I voted for Kristy Lee Cook is how good her voice sounds even with the flu. That’s amazing.
So I don’t buy this business that the girls are inferior. They largely made the mistake of singing songs they love. That’s dangerous for an amateur, because you fall back into your bad habits from singing the song untutored.
For me watching the boys this week, David Hernandez was a standout, & I felt stupid trying to pick from the rest. The guys are just too close together for me, or paradoxically, I like the ones who are doing worse. I like Michael Johns because he superficially reminds me of Jim Morrison & Michael Hutchence, but he was pretty weak this time. I liked Robbie Carrico, but he wasn’t really that hot this week. I think Archuleta is too young for this stress, but he’s lucky glurge boy this week & not leaving just yet.
And Baby Chestnut Patrick Dempsey Face (Luke Menard) was weird.
The girls, I actually picked a few to vote for, but I think they’re most all pretty good. Asia’h’s a local girl, so I was really disappointed in her first verse, but she saved it when she opened up, so she got some votes. Then again, I was born in Tulsa, so I was rooting some for Country-Fried Not Quite Joss Stone Girl (Alaina Whitaker)–but I really don’t like “Hopelessly Devoted.” And I wasn’t going to throw Amanda Overmyer a life preserver when there are some real voices in this.
But I felt bad when Alexandréa got cut. I felt bad for voting for Kristy Lee, 'cos Alexandréa took interesting song choices. I mean, that Chicago song? She was interesting. But there are still good singers in this, so, yeah. Oh, well.
