Well, last week they were sick and perhaps they are all still having problems.
On the upside-- I like Asia version better than that Sullivan fellow. Oh wait, Celine sang this too? Of course she did.
What the hell is going on? How can they all be so awful? Why is Asiah dressed like a slutty secretary? How can she not be booted for totally, completely, utterly missing a note? What the hell are the judges hearing?
I don’t know–apparently I am completely tone deaf because I don’t understand how all three of them aren’t ripping her a new one. Simon nailed it though–she’s not that good a singer.
Well that’d make two of us who were tone deaf then. I thought that was appallingly awful. She was all over the place. And dammit, I like that song, too. I’ve never heard Celine Dion sing it, but I liked the Eric Carmen version, and also the one from Bridget Jones Diary, whoever that was.
Agree totally with both of those assertions. Once again this week, there’s no point in grading the women because they all suck, with the possible exception of Carly Smithson, to whom I’ll give a generous B. (Simon must be screwing Brook, or wishes he were.)
Oops. Forgot to mention this. Back on the guys for a sec, Tucker Carlson’s gossip reporter says that Robbie Carrico’s long hair is fake. He wears a wig.
Dial idol has Jason Yeager doing well. How is that possible? He was the worst last night, hands down. I hate Amanda, but he was worse than she was tonight. Not by much, but worse.
I’ll disagree there. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a performance that was as bad as the one Overmyer put up tonight. She missed the notes & really sounded absolutely terrible. It was so bad that I couldn’t bring myself to look at the television screen. Diogenes nailed it when he said she was in over her head.
Everyone was wondering which guy would be this year’s Sanjaya, but it was Amanda all along.
That was a whole lotta mediocre. I kept saying to my husband that these girls keep making the mistake of singing songs they like, not songs they can knock out of the park. Idiots. Okay, that’s not kind; maybe it’s just because they’re so young - they don’t know no better.
(I too am listening to Heart now. Why didn’t someone sing Dog and Butterfly? What an awesome singer’s song.)
Isuck at names but the girl who sang “Me and Mrs. Jones”, what was she thinking. That choice totally takes you out of the song. And then changes the word, so now itstarts to sound gimmicky and distracting. And the point of the original is that it is “Mrs. Jones” i.e she’s married. Chaning it to “Mr. Jones turns it into bleh.”
I could listen to Carly, Rami and maybe Asia’h again without cringing; the rest can just go away now.
I’m beginning to suspect that once we get the 12 finalists down its likely the girls will all go quickly and we will be left with 6 boys for the final 6 weeks.
I think they should send four girls home tonight and keep all the guys. I guess if I had to pick a best performance of the night, it would be Carly, even though I didn’t think she was great. It definitely wasn’t as good as David A., David H., or Chikezie from the night before. Brooke had the second-best performance and probably Ramiele third. Everybody else was crap. The worst were Amanda and Kady. By far. And count me among those shocked that Simon has never heard “Magic Man.” It’s a fantastic song, and my favorite Heart song.
