American Idol 2/29 and beyond.

I’m afraid to post this because someone else will and then they’ll be two different threads and then there will be mass confusion and the world will come to a fiery end. But I can’t wait any longer.

Here’s my wish list of songs. I’d love to hear (or see-- whatever) other people’s song wish lists.

Mandisa-- Still waiting for Brickhouse.
Gedeon-- I want someone to sing Whose Loving You, and he’s the best candidate.
Paris-- Dr Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band’s I’ll Play The Fool. It’s jazzy and would show off her vocal control and beauty.
Breena-- Bonnie Tyler (or is it Kim Carne) Heartbreak. She’s got that rough edge that would fit this song well.
Ace-- George Michael’s One More Try. He can cheese it up real good with this song.
Chris-- Anything because he’s so beautiful
Crooner Guy-- Mack the Knife. Why not.
The other guy with the almost bald and sideburns-- Um, I got nothing.
Taylor-- Go on and sing A Little Help From My Friends Joe Cocker style.

I haven’t given a thought to any one else.

i’m waiting for someone either in audition, or on the show, to sing “Sweet Child O’ Mine”.

That’s a challenging song to sing. The natural candidate would be Daughtry, but Bucky could give it a whirl.

Heck, I think Cheryl Crow covered that, so it’s not limited to men, either. Maybe that blond chick with the fucked up dad.

So am I! It’s such an amazing song, and I think it’s adaptable to lots of different kinds of voices. (I sing it at karaoke! Not very well, but it’s fun…) Axl Rose’s voice is high enough that many of the women could do it…I think I’d most like to see it sung by a female, in fact.

I am absolutely digging Kat McPhee and think she would do a sublime version of “At Last,” providing she tones down the vocal gymnastics.

I was a little disappointed in Constantine’s “Kiss from a Rose,” and if Ace is smart, he’ll pull that one out on 90s night instead of some boy band BS.

I know this is cheesy, but I think Will should do something slightly emo-rock. (I know, lame, but so is this corny show.) I’m not all that familiar with the genre (because I’m older than 17), and it may be so over, but yeah. Something melodic but angsty, and the girls will go crazy, and he’ll get the edginess he needs.

I’ll think of more later, I’m sure. I tend to think of songs and try to place them with singers, instead of taking my favorite contestants and placing them with songs.

Noooo. Don’t start another thread!!!

Here is a reputed list of tonight’s song choices from TWoP (Spoler does not include any judges’ comments. Just names and song titles:

Kellie Pickler- “I Hope You’d Dance” by LeAnn Womack
Ayla Brown- “All By Myself” by Celine Dion
Melissa McGhee- “Concrete Angel” by Martina McBride
Heather Cox- “Knock on Wood” by Allanah Miles
Kinik Sky- “Neither One of Us” by Gladys Knight
Katharine McPhee- “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler
Lisa Tucker- “When You Believe” duet by Whitney Houston and Mariah C
Paris Bennet- “A Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson
Brenna Gethers- “Black Velvet” by ?
Mandisa- “Lean On Me” by Bill Withers

There is also a report that Taylor Hicks is going to sing “Easy” by The Commodores.

I’d be happy if someone on that show would sing a song we haven’t heard a thousand times already. Where are the songs by Ryan Adams, Keane, Ben Harper, and such?
Just wondering.

I messed that up.
[spolier]Allanah Miles was suppose to go with “Black Velvet.” The question mark should go with “Knock on Wood.” I think there’s more than one song by that name.[/spoiler]

Damn it, I botched the spoiler.

Is it me or is Paula’s eye’s not focusing? Like she has robot eyes.

Well, There goes at least one of those.

Note to women: Empire waists make you look pregnant more than anything else. Not attractive.

Well, I guess my list is wrong.

McPhee or McGhee (which one is she?) should have done much better with that song. It wasn’t really bad, but it could have been much better.

I thought McPhee sang pretty well but it was a boring song.

My son says Kinik looks like a cowboy hooker. He likes it.

This is horrible. I think the journey is over for Kinic.

Sounded like she was running out of breath.

Didn’t like that at all. Is it that I don’t like country or did she really sound bad?

I love love love McPhee’s personality and want her to survive, but I thought her performance was boring. Nice, but totally boring.

Kinnik was smart to go away from the stereotype after last week’s snoozefest, but she sounded bad. I don’t really like her voice. It sounds so…thick?

Yay!
Now I want Lisa to win it all!
