Buh-bye, Lacey
I’m totally okay with that. And if we could’ve voted off that bizarro-world dancing tv thing, that would’ve been great too.

Well, yes, but that’s a wicked low bar there notfrommensa.
Why were we subjected to that odd thing? Is that…group represented by Simon or something?
Tough crowd.
I kinda feel like I did when they sent Alexis Grace* home last year: way too early for her to go home. There’s like 4-5 I would have sent home first, though given my theory that the ladies go earlier, I’m not surprised to see a girl go home.
Did they save her? I assume not, but changed the channel.
I heard Ke$ha interviewed on NPR and she came across as pretty bright. Looked like she’s trying for a piece of the Lady Gaga audience.
Agree with the results. Judges correct also.
No objection to the elimination, but after tonight, for some reason, I’m starting to think maybe she wasn’t as bitchy as she came off sometimes. In retrospect, I think she was scared a lot, and that made her seem more aloof and full of herself than she really was. There’s also something kind of hot about her, I’m ashamed to admit. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the haircut. Anywell, she took the boot pretty well. Better than Lily did, that’s for sure.
My thoughts on the vote:
Lacey wouldn’t have my choice this week, but she had to go sometime. I liked her quirky voice.
I’ve never heard of Kesha before. Does she really spell her name with a dollar sign? How immediately off-putting. So was the auto-tuner.
God, aren’t you all a bunch of old farts!
Ke$ha is the only entertaining thing that’s been on idol for weeks.

Yes, dollar sign.

Was underwhelmed by Orianthi, BTW.
When it comes to music, the majority is always right.
Not necessarily, but I am.
Who was the blonde girl who played the guitar? Her singing and her song sucked; her guitar playing was okay, I guess.
Here’s David Cook’s fine performance on the youtube
I thought he & his fine band did a superb job, esp considering it was apparently a last minute sort of addition. They’re selling on itunes too. smart
thank you.
Now see, I thought THAT was “Meh.” I liked Cook when he was on the show, but that performance did nothing for me. Nothing about it was exciting, special, or fun, and the weird-ass guitar part that sounded like an 80’s electronic handheld game was teh suck. Having said that, I seriously doubt I’m his target audience, and I seem to not ‘get’ a lot of newer music, so make of that what you will.
Orianthi(the blond singer/guitarist) was a little better, I thought. She gave a lively, fun pop performance, though the guitar work was kinda blah. She’s supposedly a very good guitar player, but (and I freely admit I don’t play) what I heard and saw seemed technically good, precise, and blah. It’s true I’ve only seen one performance, it may be possible I that have ridiculous standards, and what the heck do I expect from a pop song anyway?
Edited to post a link to Orianthi’s performance:
Wait, Crystal?
I think he means the Australian girl who was a guest.
Totally agree. I was a Cook fan when he was on Idol, but his performance last night was a big bag of generic crap. They took everything that made the song unique & removed it, then replaced it with really bland electric guitar. I’m guessing part of the reason it sucked was due to the fact that it was a bit last minute.
