Okay.
as I posted on the other thread I’m really looking forward to seeing David Cook on Idol Gives Back night. They will be showing footage of his trip to Ethiopia for the UN Foundation.
Annie Lennox was supposed to perform again for IGB but can’t fly from Europe in time because of the volcano. bummer.
Inspirational songs are not my favorite, but I will try to make an effort anyway.
Its always good to hear David Cook. Any guesses on who leaves? I’m feeling its Aaron’s time.
Song spoilers:
*There was an orchestra on stage
Casey James – Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow – Fleetwood Mac
Lee Dwyze – The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkle
Tim Urban – Better Days by Goo Goo Dolls
Aaron Kelly – I Believe I Can Fly
Siobhan Magnus – When you Believe – Mariah and Whitney from the Prince of Egypt –
Michael Lynche – Hero – Alt rock version, probably Chad Kroeger feat. Josey Scott
Crystal Bowersox – People Get Ready by the Impressions
Casey started off in the complete wrong key, it sounded like. Oof. He caught up to the song by the third line, but he is not very good tonight at all. Good guitar, but this isn’t Guitar Hero.
Really? Crap. I haven’t watched elimination night this year but I would have actually watched that.
What is inspirational about “The Boxer”? Also, I heard two frat boys in college do this song at karaoke one night, and they did it about a billion times better than Lee. Blah.
Lee. I have a little Idol crush after that. (I wonder how many other contestants even know that song, and that makes me feel old.)
Well, it wasn’t That inspirational, but he sang it like he meant it, hows that? And yeah, hes a cutie.
Heh. I see Drain Bead and I have opposite views of that performaance.
And I forgot to say earlier – what is with Big Mike crushing/picking up Alicia Keys?! That would creep me the fuck out.
How did Tim make it on this show again? Was it the hair?
Ok - I admit I’m a David Cook fan, but none of these songs are as special as David Cook’s “Innocent” during inspirational songs week in his year. performance wasn’t great but his studio version is incredible http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-Bm17f8bG0
Wow, I didn’t think Siobhan had the chops to handle that song (few do, really), but she did a pretty admirable job.
Oh, Siobhan. I thought you were different, interesting. What a horrid and boring song choice.
ETA: I thought Ryan was going to let her hang out there rambling forever. Oof.
Siobhan should not be allowed talk. She should sing, listen to the judges critique, and walk off the stage. It’s just uncomfortable.
Siobhan talks like someone who just got a shot of Haldol. Which might be the case, actually.
Wow, Mike looks especially fat in that outfit. Wonder how much time he has to be in the gym…
Song was only alright for me. I’m normally a Big Mike fan, but that was merely okay.
Wow, this is the first time I’ve seen a nervous breakdown on the Idol stage.
She is just a hell of a lot better than the rest today and Bowersox has been every week.
