I’ve never felt like anything on American Idol can really pass as “rock.” As Simon said to Chris Daughtry, the kind of guys these “rocker” guys are trying to be wouldn’t be caught dead on this show.

I liked it, I’m finally reminded of what I liked about her in the beginning.
They did an excellent make up job on her tonight, too.
First off, “Blackbird” should be accompanied by an accoustic guitar, not a piano. Secondly, she fucked up the words, thirdly, she’s buttfucking the melody (why can’t any of these people respect the melodies. What makes them think they have the right to rewrite Paul McCartney?)

I have not really been entertained tonight. There’s nothing close to what I’d prefer to the original, or even queue up on iTunes for a change of pace, and nothing has really sucked enough to be funny.
Carly fucked up a truly gorgeous song. Why I chose to watch this show again when I knew they were doing The Beatles again, I don’t know.
If that seems harsh, I’m sorry, but I have such strong feelings for these songs and I can’t stand to hear anyone take such liberties with the melodies. “Blackbird” should not be belted like that.
Carly was the best so far, I think. Which isn’t saying much tonight.
