I thought Brooke was good, actually, except for the massive screw up at the beginning.
I disagree with Randy–she doesn’t play piano well enough to do it all on her own.

You’re right. Sting’s original didn’t have Spanish lyrics, but someone who covered it may have.
Okay, it looks like Julio Iglesias covered it, so his cover is likely to have Spanish lyrics.
ETA: **Lily ** cleared it up. Thanks!
It was okay, I liked the beginning part at least. Meh on the latter half.
Thanks, I do like the lyrics now that I’ve seen them. Dunno why he’d make that choice, regardless, but I can see how moving it would have been doing it with your choir.
Brooke’s hair is very Sheryl Crow tonight. I think Randy and Simon are right, but Brooke really needs to stop okaying and approving their criticisms, it’s just weird.
I really enjoyed Brooke’s downplayed version of “Every Breath You Take.”
I missed the rest.
It’s all been kind of boring. Nothing that great or that bad.
It’s Queen on crack!
Loving Michael Johns!
Weird song choice. He can rock it, but he ain’t Fred Mercury.
Of course, he does have better teeth.
Lordy, The Aussie’s voice isn’t up to this song and neither are the back-up singers. He is pretty to look at.
There is no way you can make “We are the Champions” your own, to quote the judges. All you do is shout the song out; there’s no room for anything except bellowing.
Which means Randy and Pauler, at least, will love it.
ETA: Ah-hah! I was right. What stuns me is Simon liked it. Me, I thought it was pure karaoke. I really don’t get this show sometimes.
I’m actually liking the Aussie tonight. It’s nice to pick up the damned tempo after all the ballads, and he’s taking on one of the toughest signers in rock history and… well, he’s not doing Freddie Mercury justice, but he’s OK at least.
On the other hand, it would be a hilarious sing-off if he gets voted off!
Other than pronouncing it “sentonce,” Michael Johns was pretty good.
Just as the girls should never sing Mariah or Whitney, the guys should never sing Freddie Mercury.
However, if I had never in my life heard those songs, I would have liked it.
I would say that about the “We Will Rock You,” but “We are the Champions” has a brilliant and challenging lead vocal.
I thought that We Are the Champions was a horrid song choice. “Indulgent”, to use a Simon word. What the heck? Everyone loved it? He had some good vocals in there, but hidden by all the showy stuff.
You really think so? Wow, I find it very, very easy, at least to hit the notes. But then I’ve been singing classical stuff for many years, which is considerably more difficult, so I find most pop ridiculously easy note-wise.
Carly’s mom is hot.
She started out of key and had to restart – something you can get away with when you’re the only instrumentalist playing.
Carly’s dress is too tight. Nasty creasing across her hips.
