American Idol 4/12

This sucks. If it’s Bo, I’m not watching anymore.

NOOOOO!!! Why is Scott saved!!! NOOOOOO…

Thank God.

Whew! At least it wasn’t Bo.

Nadiaaaaa… Nooooooo…

That. Was. Bull. Shit.

No way Scott deserves to stay ahead of Nadia.

Nadia is gone. I cannot believe that Scott survived over her.

Scott sucks. How does he keep getting votes? Who is voting for him? Stop it!

Nadia just had so much star presence - she doesn’t need this show, good things will happen for her!

Scott - totally and completely awful.

I think I predicted this upthread.

I think I had Nadia third or forth place so I don’t think she should have won but having her leave instead of Scott? Come on.

It sucks that Nadia is gone, because she’s way, way, way better than Scott (who, by the way, has really started coming off as a real effing a-hole, in my opinion) and Anthony. That said, I thought she’d go because there are a bunch of numbnuts powervoting for Scott and Anthony and she did a lousy job last night in the one spot.

Scott? Forget Scott. She shouldn’t have gone home before Anthony.

Then again, it doesn’t really matter what order they go home in as long as Bo comes in second place.

It should have been Scott, but better Nadia than Bo.

:frowning:

I don’t get the agony over Nadia leaving. Aside from the crazy hair and the astounding facial contortions she had absolutely nothing; she was a C-level singer with no power, no projection, and little character. Her performance last night sucked. Neither Scott not Anthony are much to write home about either, and really Anthony deserved to go home based on Tuesday’s performances, but it doesn’t really matter which of those three goes home first; they’re all also-rans and none deserve to win, and barely deserved to be in the final 12.

I disagree. Bo’s worn thin, but Nadia still interests me. I wouldn’t have sent either home before Scott and Anthony, though.

That was just so wrong. I admit that Nadia may not have been good enough to win but she was good enough to outlast Scott and Anthony. If she had only kept picking songs and doing performances like she did with “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me” then maybe the fools voting for Scott might have realized she was hella better than him.

I admit that I initially like both Scott and Anthony but Scott really creeps me out now and he doesn’t deserve to be there. Not just because he’s notas good a singer as the others but him being allowed to stay on the show after his domestic violence arrest came out when others with kicked off for less serious issues is just wrong.

I did not vote last night because I wasn’t feeling well. I only managed tthree attempts for Nadia and I never got through. I would have voted for Bo, too. Now I feel even worse.

Wow, I forgot my windows were open; I hope my resounding obscenities at Scott being safe didn’t shock my neighbors’ little ears.

This show is so totally not about who’s a good singer. What a crock.

But yes, I have been voting for Bo – although not till after Amazing Race is over; and I don’t sit there and powervote for an hour, I vote a dozen times or so and then get on with my life. This week I even threw a few votes Vonzell’s way just on the principal that the good ones get assumed to be safe. But I never thought that would happen this soon to Bo!!

Man, I really do not need this kind of adrenalin. I don’t want Bo to win, but he needs to at least make the top three. It’s actually kind of pathetic that at my age I’ve turned into a squeeing fan girl for a guy half my age, but hey, it’s Bo!

It’s a pattern: the Black Chick Who Ought To Be In The Final Two Gets Shafted: First it was Tamyra Gray in 2002, then it was Trenyce in 2003, and Latoya London last year, and now Nadia.

Can anyone explain this to me? Because I don’t get it. I know I’m not the only person who is wondering who votes for Scott. Anthony isn’t my cup of tea, but I can at least understand his appeal: he’s cute enough, and he seems non-threatening, and he is very earnest. But Scott?!? What is it about him? I like to think I give people the benefit of the doubt, but I just can’t find any redeeming qualities about him. Even all his talk about trying to prove himself strikes me as just that: talk. Idle chatter. Y’all, this is really upsetting me! It’s like Carmen-the-Goat-Girl all over again. I don’t know if I can watch any more until I know he’s gone. And I don’t even feel a little bit of guilt about that.

RickJay: I believe I am an older-than-average “Idol” viewer (I am 30), so I can only tell you what I like about Nadia. She didn’t always choose the best songs, and in fact a lot of the time she chose horrid songs, but (1) she always chose songs that she could do well, and (2) she always chose different songs than anybody else was doing. I like that. She might be limited in power and range, but she does have a great deal of respect for her craft, as evidenced by her decision to perform “non-canonical” songs. (Nadia kind of reminds me of Grace Slick, in a way - nobody ever accused her of wrecking a high note, because even drunk AND stoned Grace knew she wouldn’t come close. She just did her thang.)

But, mostly, she didn’t give me the creeps, like Scott does, and she was OK to look at (even if you are a hetero woman), which Scott is NOT, and she was always gracious and respectful and professional, unlike, oh, Scott.

Run, PunditLisa, while you still can. This show will suck you in and then tear your heart into little pieces.

I don’t think Pauler knew the results. Based on the lead-ins (“shocking results”, etc.) I think they wanted us to think that Bo was leaving. Scott would not have been shocking. Nadia was not as shocking as Bo, since she’s been in the bottom three before and has had a couple of so-so weeks, but they held Bo hostage for drama as long as possible. Yeah, Scott and Anthony should have gone before Nadia . . . but this happens every damn year.

Bo was just so cool when he found out he was in the bottom three.
