Good for Josh, I’m glad he’s doing well, especially because he’s from my hometown.
I do think it’s funny when country fans who disrespect AI find out that’s where he got his start and get all torn over whether than can continue liking him, though.
However, Josh’s performance on Idol wasn’t anywhere near good enough to carry him to the final four of season 2, particularly jarring when Trenyce got the boot before him. RickJay’s right, as usual, much of Josh’s fan base were voting for the uniform and/or the ‘country’ contestant and not Josh the individual.
That said, I’m okay with tonight’s pick, though I would have personally preferred Scott, alas. The top four were correct and I’m not so much caring which order Anwar, Anthony and Scott go home in.
You mean I have to look at Scott’s ugly punk ass for another week? Why, Og? How have I offended thee?
Seriously, I knew Anwar was on borrowed time. I just kept wanting him to sound as good as he looked. Remember when he wore that black pirate outfit with the long coat and we got to se his nipples? Good times.
Naw… the only people that I knew that were voting for him were women who thought he was super sexy and great eye candy. One of my best friend’s mom (who’s in her early 50s) was pisssssssed when Josh was finally voted out. It was kind of funny.
Tonight was appalling. I know Anwar wasn’t meant to win it all, but I thought he should outlast Scott and geek boy. Out of the three of them, he is the only one who can sing.
I demand a recount!
(And I love Bo, oh, how I love Bo. If I could just get close enough to him, I know I could get him to fall in love with me. I’d be his perfect rocker chick. )
Well, he might have been aware of what happened last year. Last year, this week, in fact.
For those who weren’t watching the show at that time, here’s how it went down. Ryan had the same setup, dividing the contestants into two groups, with Jennifer, LaToya and Fantasia in one group, and Diana, John and Jasmine in the other. George was left on the couch, basically sh!tting a brick, until After The Break.
When the show came back on, Ryan told George to join the top group. And this is when Ryan reached a height of cruelty far worse than Simon has ever even attempted. George edged towards the Three Divas, while looking over his shoulder at Ryan for a response. Ryan let him get all the way over to them, then said into the mike, "Watch this, America. No, George, I said the top group!"
Howls of disbelief from the audience. Fantasia laughs. Jennifer gives b!tchface. John’s mouth falls open, same as it did week 3 when LaToya went to the seal instead of him. George makes his way over to the three teenagers, and all of them are sent back to the couch, John now so pale you can see through him. LaToya is sent back also, Jennifer is told she’s out, and Fantasia gives her a tearful hug, proclaiming, “You’re my American Idol!” And just like tonight, Jennifer’s singout was cut off before she’d finished one verse.
So Bo probably knew about that, and wasn’t about to let himself be played. Or even if he didn’t, he’s still not one to let himself be played. Catch him mouthing, “After the break” along with Ryan.
Anyway, that was the night that resulted in the cries of racism, and spawned the now defunct johnstevenssucks.com site. Will Scott get the same backlash? Maybe, maybe not. At any rate, if history repeats itself, he’ll be the one to go next week.
Still sucks that the Top 6 lack Nikko, Nadia, & Jessica in favor of Scott No-Range Savol. Makes the competition unfair, really.
Seemed to me several days ago that Scott & Anwar were likely to be the next 2 out. I thought last week that if the voting is as cyclical as it appeared last year to be, this would be Anwar’s week to go; Scott & Bo would get a boost from fan concern after being in the bottom 3 last week. I’d actually talked myself out of it, though, since the loss of Nadia might send some votes to Anwar (who also has fashion sense), Vonzell (now the great black hope), & the longhair lads (stylistically similar to Nadia), while Scott & Anthony get no obvious boost there.
And I thought Anwar didn’t sound completely awful for once.
Apparently proletarian anger is strong enough for Savol to crack the Top 6 after all. Not a big shock.
Go to Goggle and enter: Vote For The Worst. You’ll find your answer there.
They’ve been gaining momentum with every show. It started last year with AI3 when the campaign was to vote for Jon S., when he got eliminated it was switched to Jasmine.
This year for the boys, it was Constantine and for the girls, it was Mikalah. When both Mikalah and Constantine both made the top 12. All efforts switched to keeping Constantine in, but then Constantine starting doing good, so all efforts have switched to Fat F.uck.
Just to clarify, I was joking about liking Connie because he’s evil. I’m really not seeing the scariness in him. I just like him because he’s having a good time and not taking this all too seriously.
Tune in next week, kids, when Scott sings ANOTHER crappy version of some song begging his woman to come back or whining because she doesn’t. In the meantime, here’s hoping he gets the memo: BEGGING AND WHINING NO LONGER WORK ONCE YOU’VE RAISED YOUR HAND TO A WOMAN, you creep.*
That’s why I made my Bo love official. It was only unofficial before that.
I don’t think it was scripted with Bo in on it because the contestants aren’t supposed to know who’s safe before the show and Bo looked surprised when told he was safe. He might have been expecting a fake-out like “Bo, all those guys are safe and you’re out”, I was worried that might happen for a few seconds. Also, Ryan said he expected Bo to do that and he didn’t think he could get him to choose a side so just told him to take a step to the right. The powers that be scripted it but I think they just knew how Bo would react.
I agree with RickJay. Bottom three is bottom three, and only one can go home at a time. So it’s just a matter of order. And frankly, I think America is tired of boy-band nasals, which Anwar exemplifies. As bad as Scott’s voice is, its tone is better than Anwar’s. I liked the results.
