American Idol 4/21 to 4/22

I question the wisdom of the pink vest, and the little hand gestures. I don’t think Anoop will go much further but I think he’ll survive the week. Lil and Matt will not.

Lil and Anoop can go home. Kthxbye.

Adam was exceptionally well controled tonight. No screech at all.

Anoop is putting me to sleep.

I didn’t like Matt at all. I thought Anoop was a little above average.

Anoop, Matt and Lil should be in trouble tomorrow.

Allison sounded a lot better on the recap (which is done during the rehearsal).

Anoop and Groucho Marx eyebrows?

Whichever of Matt, Lil, and Anoop does survive this week will be gone next week.

When I saw the size of his hair, I must say I was reminded a little of Martin Short’s Ed Grimley character (I must say).

Lil and Danny or Matt are going home.

Adam did the best on originality, though Kris was a close second.

Alison did good, not great. Hated the rubber pants.

I liked Matt’s rendition better than I thought he would.

Danny was boring. Anoop was boring. Lil was boring. She obviously gets her 'tude from her mama, who was not appreciating the criticism.

Lil sure has some junk in her trunk.

Adam I liked. I also liked Stayin’ Alive, but mostly because I like the song. The rest were sort of forgettable for me…

My order tonight, from best to worst:

Allison
Adam
Kris
Danny
Lil
Matt
Anoop

I’ve missed it - what did Adam sing?

“If I Can’t Have You” from Saturday Night Fever.

I can see why the judges like different renditions. Kris’s was good, as Paula said, a bit Santana.
Adam surprised me also. It was good, and not expected.
I loved Allisons take on the song, especially the beginning.

Also enjoyed Simons expressions when Paula was speaking. shopping in the womens department?

I thought what she said made perfect sense and it was an amusing and appropriate analogy. Women can shop in the men’s section, but not vice versa, i.e., women can pull off men’s songs easier than men can pull of women’s songs.

Agreed. She’s actually said a number of fairly sensible things this season that Simon makes way too much of a big deal of pretending (?) not to understand.

Yeah, I can’t believe I thought Paula was perfectly clear, and Simon didn’t get it. We’ve definitely gone through the rabbit hole, people.

Personally…I thought it was Adam that was self-indulgent tonight. Oooh, he slowed down a disco song and made it a ballad. The judges’ worshipping at his feet is getting nauseating.

I can’t think of any reason why this week’s bottom 3 won’t be the same as last week’s bottom 3. Same 7 singers, same America Votes. C’mon…you don’t think people actually listen critically to the performances, do you?

I actually really liked Kris and the arrangement.
Anoop was okay, Allison was good but not great, Adam looked lovely and was nicely unpredictable, Danny was ho-hum, Matt brought nothing new to the song, and Lil just needs to leave.

Best two:

Kris
Adam

The others: meh

I don’t care if any of the others gets the ax tomorrow. The final two should just be Kris and Adam.

Perhaps that’s why my elderly mom keeps referring to her as “Li’l Round Butt.”
