Is this the best that someone who got no airtime until the semifinals has done? I didn’t watch the first 4 seasons, but I’m pretty sure each of the final 2 in previous seasons were at least shown in Hollywood even if we didn’t see their audition.
Yeah, her and Kelly Clarkson. I guess they eat well on their tours. And while we’re at it, Adam is a few years and a few cheeseburgers away from his Fat Elvis stage. His body’s solid but you can see it in his face- he’s fighting a battle with weight, and he’s going to lose.

Just watched the results night recap (because apparently I really really really need a hobby, or to get to work on time) and I am convinced that the contestants all knew Danny was going home. Maybe they peeked at DialIdol, who knows, but Danny looked depressed the whole show and Kris practically bounded on stage for his flashback package, totally chipper. Of course it’s not real until Ryan announces it, but compared to Kris’s Rock Week genuine shock, this one (for all three) seemed more like confirmation of what they already knew.

I thought Melinda was quite talented, especially in how she was able to sing any genre.
And I agree with the post above–I was very happy to see that Jordin has not starved herself and still looks great.
I think Adam should just go ahead and get some work done on his face. Here’s where I reveal my double standard: for most people I think plastic surgery is ridiculous. However, there are a choice few for whom it fits the persona. Cher, for example. For her, fake is good – dramatically effective. I think Adam could pull it off. Because he’s going to need it soon. And he needs to hit the gym.
[tangent] I have an old college acquaintance who was a totally butch lesbian back in the day. Now, she’s still a lesbian, but has femmed up completely. Lipstick all the way girl! Why? She’s making a killing in real estate, and the femme persona is profitable. More power to her, I say. She can always cut the hair, grow out the leg hair, get a few tattoos, and start chain smoking when she retires in comfort. Anyway, for some people, appearance and livelihood are strongly linked. Bo Bice had no early press. Once he launched onstage and rocked Whipping Post, the producers sat up and took notice. He finished second, although (I think) that finale was more of a contest than this finale will be.
