An April Foolish MMP

Look, it’s Mork! ::Waves:: Summary of recent events I can remember: GPie and GTigs have been in the hospital. There were Mumperfests. FCM is on her way home from Florida and has a dress to wear to daughter’s wedding. Many Mumpers need hugs. NoLa is gonna have a baby. tinyninjachef got himself baptized. There’s lots more, but I’m sleep-deprived.

I went into work late and left early because I was way too tired. Now I’m going to take a nap.

Hugs to all.

Back later.

GT

I have a horde of hungry men descending upon my house in four hours.

:: disappears into kitchen ::

This is the most titillating thing I’ve read all week.

You’d love them, swampy. Fresh meat. One’s tall and blond and from Oxford.

I just got told I already have enough to handle. Sigh I just love it when he gets all butch on me.

I just finished makin’ one dang fine lookin’ ‘nanner puddin’. To bad I gotta wait til dessert to have any. Life is just so unfair sometimes!

Alliterative, too! :stuck_out_tongue:

Naw, Spitzer’s friends asked for a couple grand and a smile…

Agh, we went over to a friend’s house to get some computer stuff done for him and afterward it was kinda late and we hadn’t had anything to eat yet so we stopped at the Tik-Tok and had chicken fried steak. With gravy. And eggs. And toast. And hashed browns. With extra gravy. And lots of coffee. So now it’s late afternoon and I’m so sleepy I could faceplant on my laptop in a picosecond.

Mmmm, nap… best way to spend a day I can think of–we stopped on the way home because we were having what the PNW calls a “sun break,” which means right there, at that exact moment, the sun is out. Two minutes later, who knows? Anyway, it lasted long enough to tire out the puppy by throwing a ball across a huge deserted baseball field until he was panting. Now he’s taking a nap on my foot, which makes me even sleepier. Yawn…

Hello and Happy Friday folks!

I just kind of skimmed the last several pages, but wanted to send hugs those who are going through a rough patch.

This work week seemed incredibly long, but I did manage to get project that kind of intimidated done. I showed what I had done to a co-worker who has more experience using this particular data mining system and she told me that I was exactly on the right track. Anyway, it’s done, but now the individual who requested the data wants to meet with me Monday afternoon to go over it because she has some questions.

Monday morning I go in for the ultrasound on my thyroid. I’ll be glad when or if they can ever figure out what the hell is going on with my body.

Last night’s workout at the Y was good and I managed to run for much longer time periods and distances, so I guess that means I’m finally building up some stamina.

Well, I guess I should figure out what we’re doing for dinner.

Ta for now!

Ooh, I forgot to add that we have a bear running around here. They’ve closed the neighborhood park that we intended to run at tomorrow. It’s a juvenile black bear, so they’re concerned that mama bear may be around too. They’ve tried trapping it, but the bear keeps managing to elude the wildlife officials.

<shoves Swampy to the ground>

I am home. It is (again 830pm) I figure this is just my time to get out on Firdays now. Fair enough, I need the money.

Annoying Ethnic Coworker has been promoted in my mind. Here is her new moniker: Lisa the Bitch. Please make a note of it. She had the gall to tell me today that when she came in last Saturday to make the calls (for Monday’s surgery), “nothing was done.” I begged to differ, citing my calling 29 of the 33 people, to make sure the phone numbers were accurate and to give them their pre-op instructions. The Friday evening caller does NOT do the nursing assessment. She can, as a courtesy, but she does not have to. That is the job of the Saturday person. (if, for example, Monday’s case load was light, the Friday person might do the nsg assess. just so the Sat. person wouldn’t have to come in). I shared this with her to no avail, so Lisa the Bitch was born. (not her real name).
The best part of her bitchery? When she told me that I had some wrong numbers on the list–the some of the four that I had left messages on. (think about that for a minute).

Other Annoying Coworker was very nice to me, so I think she’s just having a rough time.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Swampy–AD does indeed suck.

I’m off to bed soon, since I have ONE case tomorrow–at 0630.

rigs some people are just… well… you know.

Howdy Y’all! Home from the dinner party. ‘Twas fun. This was the first of the church Foyer Groups I am involved with for the year. How this works is, those wishing to participate sign up and then names are divided up randomly into how many groups are necessary, usually winding up with four or five (remember we are a small church) groups made up of ten to twelve people (combo or couples and indivuduals) which makes for five or six dinner parties per group. Make sense? Anywho, the lists are made up and whoever’s first hosts the first dinner and so forth til everyone (or one’s in the case of couples) has hosted. People are assigned sump’n to bring for each meeting with the host providing the entree. Tonight we had grilled pork loin, green bean casserole, a marvelous veggie medley of sweet and Irish (for lack of a better word) N.O.T., zuchinni, bell pepper and onion veggie dish (for which I shall badger the bringer until she antes up the recipe, YUM!), a marvelous Greek salad, baked brie and crackers as an appetizer, and of course, ‘nanner puddin’ compliments of yours truly. Let’s just say everybody went home well fed. Plus, we bein’ Whiskypalians and all, cocktails before dinner and wine with dinner. In case y’all are wonderin’, our time to host will be in June, date to be determined. Y’all, I love my church just cause, but one of the wunnerful things is that everybody treats ACBG and me as a couple and accepts us as us. Just makes me feel good is all.

It looks like it will be right stormy here by mornin’. We’re under a combo severe thunderstorm and tornado watch tonight through the morning. I could live without the severe, but I do hope for lots and lots of rain even though I really do wanna do some outside cleaning tomorrow. Back porch needs its final post pine pollen clean up plus I’d like to clean all the pool furniture. However, if it’s stormy that shall have to wait until probably Sunday afternoon to happen. It has to happen though cause next weekend the plan is to have folks over for an around the pool (still to cool for a gettin’ in the pool) gathering.

Ok, I hear thunder rumblin’s outside so I guess I need to shut down ye olde computere.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Um…hi.

“class” (my half-day group stuff) has been interesting…enlightening. Thought provoking, but good all in all.

Today was cool, we had our district volleyball tournament. The admin team (mine) got bounced in a thrilling 3 game match in the first round by the eventual champs.

I got places that are gonna hurt I didn’t know I had.

So, I’m kind of overly introspective this week to do more than skim and say “hmmm.” to myself.

Morning all. Pseudo-driveby.

Busy weekend. Hubby has to work today, so HRH and I will be doing the grocery shopping today!

Hugs to all who need 'em!

I typed up a post for last night from my hotel but I guess I didn’t post it. It was mostly about how boring Flint was.

I’m exhaused from factory hassles this morning and driving. Gamers are here but fairly quiet tonight. I made some chicken quesadillas that were rockin’. I’m going to bed, hoping to see twins tomorrow.

(Look it up, young people)

So… last weekend, our dryer died. Which meant I was carrying wet laundry to my father’s place to dry it until… well, you’ll find out. Thus began my week.

Then on Monday I had to drive 5 hours to pick up Special Teen from the North.

Tuesday I had to leave work to let the Drier Technician in. He pronounced the drier DOA and happily sold me a new one on trade-in. Just $400 – W00t!!

Wednesday had to take Female Terrible Twin (FTT) to a specially schedules music lesson – in a new location. In the middle of Tel-Aviv. The parking lot – it does nothing!
And park again two hours later, to bring her back.
Only to hear that I had to run over to my wife’s office because the last person there didn’t have a key to lock it. Another 30 minutes in the car.

Thursday, I had to leave work for a while again, to take delivery on the new drier… And **FTT **had a “concert” in the same new location, later in the evening.

All of this in the midst of pulling 10-11 hour days at work (situation likely to continue for the foreseeable future) and helping the wife get ready for her flight to a conference (early this morning).

Friday – weekly grocery shopping. Pick kids up from school (we like to do that on Friday, although they could come home on the school bus). Crash for a three hour nap (which is something I never do!) Go to yet another mini-concert of FTT’s (she’s coming up on her end-of-primary-school-level exams at the conservatory next week, so there’s something almost every day right now, in preparation). Take **MTT **(that’s the little guy – the other half of the Terrible Twins) to a friend for a sleepover…

I have not read the last 2-3 pages… so hugs, yays and boos to whoever needs them.

Get up this morning at 5 AM to take wife to airport. Get home at 6:30, take dogs out, crash again until 11:00 AM. Went to pick up MTT from friend’s place in the middle of writing this post.

… and That Was The Week That Was.

Nothing bad, come to think of it (except for the drier. BFD in the big scheme of things) Just… bone crushingly busy and tiring.

Just watch it–washers and dryers tend to be like old married couples: when one dies, the other does too, often in solidarity.
I am up and almost out the door. Please sacrifice a small animal and do the ritual dance so that I get out of there by noon. Thank you.

This makes sense… and the washer is less than two years old, so I think it’s the drier that did the solidarity business in this case…

Ooh, can I kill my cat? Pretty please!? I’m pissed mightily with some of his latest antics!
OK, no ritual sacrifice, but I’ll cross my fingers for you; and if you were anywhere around here, I’d dance with you, too

Why am I awake??? I seem to be completely unable to sleep in lately.

I’m a great-auntie!
My nephew and his wife had their first early this morning! Whee! Babies to hold and play with… and give back!

Yay Soapie! What flavor did they have?

Special1 ummmm… your week… ewwwwww!

Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Appears ‘tis goin’ to be a rainy, stormy, icky day. Guess that means it is a good time to clean up the garage. As soon as I get through with caffienation I shall get goin’.

Later Y’all!

They had a boy!

Noonie- eek. Wen I PM’d you to ask if you were on “walkabout” you should have said you were on “driveabout”

This was both wonderful and horrible week- ever unexpectedly fall into a huge disagreement by asking what you thought was a simple, innocent (even nice and helpful) question? Ugh. Details aren’t necessary but I need to decide how much I’m going to keep going back and forth with this individual. Unfortunately, this person is in a position of quasi-authority and certainly in a position to make me feel very unwelcome somewhere I need to be. It was like being slapped with a sharp, spiny wet fish across the face, out of the blue- but less fun. :frowning:

The good part was my kids were wonderful this week while hubby was gone, little girl is thriving at her new school and my son is mastering some of his learning issues we’ve been grappling with.

Good wishes to everyone who is stressing out and I hope Haze’s hungry hordes left well satisfied!

I was coming in here to post about my bad mood. But just before I got here I read this.
