An April Foolish MMP

Yay on the great-nephew, Soapy. Babies are such fun. Sorry for the stumbling into the hornet’s nest. If there’s a way for you to stand back a bit, let things cool, and observe the other person’s interactions with others so that you can figure out a way through this mess going forward, that’s the road I’d choose…

Wow…some week, there, Lunch. It’s amazing how tiring busy can be, isn’t it?

So…I was actually able to sleep some more! Yay!

Off to finish re-stocking kitchen cupboards. And to have breakfast, of course.

GT

How did you kow my drama had to do with my son’s Bar Mitzvah??? Too funny.

Gardentraveler (what is your nick?) That is good advice and is what I’m trying to do. The person just keeps sending me vitriolic emails.

Heh. Funny cartoon.

I seem to be GT most of the time, Soapy. Other occasional nicknaming efforts haven’t stuck yet.

Can you respond in person to each vitriolic e-mail? I’ve worked with people who were suddenly turned into reasonable human beings when I showed up in their offices in response to e-mails.

I’m eating pancakes with peanut butter and maple syrup. Now back to cupboard duty.

Mornin y’all. We’re up and caffienating. Our workout clothes are in the washer and soon I’ll be able to toss them in the dryer. We’re supposed to go to the Y to work out again after our friend gets some new wheels for his car.

Nooner, that sounds like one hell of a week. I hope things start slowing down for you.

Swampy, I think it’s wonderful that your church accepts you and your sweetie as a couple. I wish more people and organizations were like that.

**gt, ** you know what else is good? Waffles with peanut butter and syrup. I haven’t had pancakes or waffles with peanut and syrup in years. I should do that again.

Congrats on the nephew Soapy!

Hmm, I should get myself in the shower at least. However, I think I’ll wait just a tad longer because my daughter just got out the shower about 10 minutes ago.

Smooches and hugs!

What a night! Last night was crazy. I spent most of the first part of the evening in the kitchen, and latter part of the evening drunk. A lot of my friends were depressed because of continuous rejections from grad schools, so that may have accounted for the extreme drunkenness. I actually got into what might be considered a fight with That Guy towards the end of the evening - mostly consisted of me giving him a piece of my mind while we were smoking on the porch. He said some things, too. I’m not sure if it’s made me feel better or not.

Sorry to hear about your crazy week, Noone.

Congrats on the nevvy, Prof. Rapunzel!

I got home about an hour ago–

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!
It was a nice morning. The pt was crabby–a smoker with no ciggy. I have pan cookies in the oven, my oldish clothes on and I’m about to head outside. Ima gonna gardengardengardengarden today.

For GT (mebbe we should make you green in honor of your name):

I thought I’d whip this up today: a nice garden walk

Heh. Crocuses are blooming-- my snowdrops are STILL blooming, and my glory of the snow and my scilla are blooming. I always feel like Mary Lennox when spring springs around here. Especially this year. It’s so good to hear the cardinals and robins and see crows again. The crows were wiped out by West Nile virus, but they are slowly coming back. I have always had a respect for crows, but not for seagulls, which filled in the vacuum left by the crows. No blue jays yet–they also got wiped out. Lots of juncos and titmice and sparrows… Ima go out and PLAY.

Toodles.

Heh. When you’re done at your place, stop by and whip that one up at my house too. 'K?

Cupboard innards are clean. Cutting up new liner. The fun never ends.

Soon, I too shall go outside to play.

GT

:sigh:

I can’t catch up on the thread right this minute, but I just wanted to let you guys know I’m in mourning. The Canes aren’t going to make the playoffs. :frowning:

**LabRat ** is sick, so I won’t get to see him tomorrow. :frowning:

We only sold 3 cars this week. :frowning:

It’s going to be stormy here this afternoon, so we probably won’t sell many today. :frowning:

I would really like a nap.

On the bright side, Glen Wesley will get to play in our golf tournament with us (with me possibly on his team,) since he won’t be in the playoffs.

Back at Archivin’ Work. There is NO parking on campus today–apparently it’s Bring Your…Youngun’* to University Day.

*Had to really think to find a nice euphemism for “child”. I almost ran over a kid who got out of a car and sat down in the middle of the parking lot. Sometimes it’s hard to resist the urge to chlorinate the gene pool a little.

Relay was fun. I stayed till about midnight-thirty. I got the feeling that, even though I wasn’t that tired yet, I should really leave. Very uncomfortable. As soon as I got home the sky opened up and it hasn’t stopped raining since. The weather sense is strong in this one.

Highlight of the evening: We band of English majors dragged two other groups across the mud in the tug-of-war. Our typing wrists are mighty.

 to the mighty English major wrists! I still need to go out and play. I got caught up playing Scrabble and jellyblocks online.

Garage is clean, I’m clean and sketti sauce is simmerin’ in the slow cooker. I brought home some leftover sallit last night so natch I had to make sketti sauce to go with it. Ok, I crave sketti and meatballs so Ima make it for supper tonight.

'Tis rainy and dreary here but ‘tis also warm. I think I feel a nappy poo comin’ on.

Hee…

I’d love to see the a picture of all the young’uns slinging shots of whiskey at the Bar Mitzvah, to complement this one…

**Ivory **-- thanks for the PM  And sorry about the problems you’re having; I have an inkling what may be happening…
Mazel Tov on the great nephew! You’re too young to be a great-anything, though  Don’t argue with that… Thus it has been said.

Haze, am I to gather that your approach to feeding everyone was that if you ply them with enough booze they won’t care how much food there is, or how good? :stuck_out_tongue:

**Puck **-- sorry about not making the playoffs, and all the rest as well. :frowning:

**Spaz **-- it’s known as “Bring you rugrat.” And I say that as the proud [del]victim[/del] parent of three of those, myself!

I’m chillin’ – which means that other than driving **FTT **to the pool and back (only 5 minutes away!) and feeding the madding crowd of 3, I’m doing absolutely nothing productive this evening, for a change!

I think I need new glasses. Upthread, someone mentioned something bout a “promo”, which I read as “a porno.”

And now I just read swampy’s post as “a happy poo” and I thought, well, that’s a bit too much info, there…
I AM going outside, promise.

I’m annoyed at everyone talking of spring being sprung.

It snowed again last night, there are no flowers yet and I’ve not seen any green. Unless you count on the golf course but it’s that fake grass junk that is green even when it’s -40.

So tired, went out last night with a pal to the casino (we came out even, lost money at slots and won it back at Blackjack) then did a little driving. Today I got up really early (for a Saturday) because today is the kid’s toy and clothes sale and I’m selling in it… so we get a pre-shop first thing in the morning. I’m home now, but will be leaving again in about an hour to go work my shift (everyone who sells must work one two hour shift… it’s sort of a communal sale, and you tag everything with a vendor number so they can trace it back to you and in a week we get a check from what sold… yay!).

Missing the lace cast on party at the yarn store, but after that party is another party because it’s also their second anniversary of being open in a physical store.

Tomorrow I am going to sleeeeeep as much as I can.

Root for the Panthers.I feel unclean for saying that They win, we’re in!

Busy with meatspace life, missed the last [del]2[/del] [del]3[/del] 4 pages of the MMP. Hugs, congrats, boos, butt kicks to those in need.

doggio havin’ trouble keepin’ up with all those dates?

rigs a really good poo can be a happy poo.

Ok, finishin’ up cookin’ sketties and meatballs.

Later Y’all!

I’m gonna root for them, but the Caps are gonna eat them for dinner. :frowning: I’m not holding out hope.

Hi people!

It’s been pretty non-productive around here. Although I did wash about 5 loads of clothes. Two of which sit ready to be folded on the couch. Socks and undies and towels. The other stuff gets hung up. I’m too lazy too fold t-shirts!

I have a pot of 15-bean soup on the stove, that I put a big ham-bone in from the other week. I froze it just for 15-bean soup. Nummy!

Oh, and I did go to the cleaners, and the liquor store, and to Mediocre Buy. I bought 3 movies and 2 CD’s. I bought Ratatouille! I’m looking forward to that one.

Other than that I’ve been playing in The Game Room. There’s a new Feud in there!

I really ought to get up, but I don’ wanna.

Oh, yeah, our new front door is here! I told Mr Rebo he has to re-sod the yard before he installs it. He said, “We’ll see.” :frowning: He doesn’t like me telling him what to do for some reason.

Busy day. I’m here in TVLand now. I just fell asleep and the phone rang so now I’m up and contemplating some menu pricing. Yippee!

Howdy, all. Hugs/yays/boos as appropriate. I’ve skimmed, but I’m a tahred Tiger and so can’t remember what I read five minutes ago, let alone on the last page.

Anyway, Papa Tigs and I are taking a long weekend at a lovely resort in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, at a nice resort. I just got out of the lovely jacuzzi in our unit, which definitely helped my seriously aching foot – we brought the Idiots down with us and are boarding them nearby (it costs less than half boarding them at home would 'cause it’s subsidized by the resort), and we took them out for a lovely loooong walk in the country this afternoon. It was bright and sunny, and so peaceful and quiet – the only noises were wildlife and us! – and the air is so fresh and clean, it’s just a delight. So that’s why I’m tahred. Although we were very sad to learn that Angel, the wonderful lady who used to run the kennel when we were here about eight years ago and boarded our golden retriever Casey with her, apparently committed suicide a couple years ago. :frowning: She was a really sweet woman and so kind to the animals; I know that’ll benefit her in the Hereafter.

Grandma Tigs is out of the hospital and having the time of her life at the nursing home, where she’ll recuperate from her knee injury. I don’t know how long she’s supposed to be there, but Medicare pays for a month, so that’s more than enough time. So our worries about her are over (for now). Till the next time. At 87, we figure there will be a next time. :frowning:

Anyway, time to go back to vegging, which is about all I can handle with all this lovely fresh air. It’s back home to the grind tomorrow, but this has been a nice break; we plan to do it more often, it’s not that far from home, and quite affordable, especially with the cheap kennel costs. Plus it’s such a pretty drive through Virginia; it’s a really pretty state.
