An April Foolish MMP

One picture??? It was a Fest! There should be hundreds of pictures!! Maybe a video!!!

Nice pic, by the way.

Happy Birthday, HRH!

I’ve been up for a while. Thought about going back to bed, but decided I was too awake already. (Of course, now I’m getting kinda sleepy.)

Guess I should get moving here…

Pretty Birthday Balloons for HRH

Hubby returned from England last night-hurrah! No more Anthony Bourdain dreams needed for awhile… heehee

But it’s good to know he’s there if I need him…

Haze gets her romantic drama in real-life, mine’s in my dreams…

Happy Birthday, HRH!
Baby pics AND Fest pics. Yay! (I feel like this is the first pic of Pugs I’ve seen here.)

swampy, that list made me chuckle. I think I can safely say I haven’t quite made it to any of those items yet.

It comforts me to know my life keeps people entertained.

The weather is lovely today, absolutely lovely. Maybe I’ll go for a walk.

Many Happy Returns of the Day, HRH. (see? I did royal blue)

And um, Dotty…yeah. well. Your husband is hot. <goes away to have sheik of Araby fantasies–ooh, look, here’s a tent!>

I am kinda sore and stiff today. I have also decided I’m fat as a flawn (what the hell is a flawn?) and will lose 10 pounds. If I continue my outside work like I did yesterday, I will do so… The library calls.
Nice pic, there FCM. I suppose if one pic is worth 1000 words than that pic does constitute a “fest”

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY HRH!!!

Great pics, Dotty! I’m curious, though, what was up with hubby’s headdress?!

And Welcome Back, FCM!!! Glad that you (and the trailer!!) made it home safely. Great pic of you and Pugs too!

I’m getting ready to start my beef stew, which goes into the new crock pot. I was up earlier and caffeinated, then I went back to sleep. laughs Isn’t the weekend wonderful?! Ah, clothes to wash later, though.

Happy Sunday all!

Thanks rigs! I’m quite partial to him myself!

ETA: tarra, it’s called a ghutra (aka keffiyeh or yashmak).

Happy Birthday HRH!

I slept like crap yet agaiin last night. All I want is a decent nights sleep. sigh

I got up at 8, checked my email quick, and then headed to the kitchen. Buns are done, potatoes are done and in the fridge (make ahead mashed potatoes, they are the Yum), coleslaw is mixed up, and the turkey is in the roaster. We are having a turkey dinner today. All that is left is a veggie made and stuffing made when the bird is done.

I can has a nap now?

Happy Birthday HRH!

Yesterday: Very long day, but in a fun way. Actually, fun stuff started Friday afternoon with our district Volleyball tournament. 24 teams in a single elimination tournament. It was a scene - the Jr High gym was packed and noisy. I played on the Admin Center team, and we completely sucked, losing two straight games, but that only meant we got to Riley’s before the other teams.

Yesterday Wife, me and another couple went to the cubby game - a vendor gave us four tickets (with parking pass). I don’t like Wrigley - pretty place but a complete dump - but it was a great day to sit at a ball game which is always a good thing for me. Then on the way home, we stopped at the Wing place, then in the evening we went to my boss’s house for his daughter’s 1st birthday party. Which was really just an excuse for a bunch of us to sit in the basement and watch basketball on the big screen and drink beer.

So, today’s a beautiful day - in a minute I’ll get off my butt, run to he store and get something to toss on the grill later.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HRH!!!

Nice pictures of HRH!

Whew! I worked out for over two and a half hours yesterday. After that we came home and cleaned up and took the kids to a wood fired pizza joint that I had been wanting to check out. It was good and the surrounding were pretty cool too.

We came home from dinner and had settled down to watch a movie when a friend of ours called and asked us to come over. So, we went to his place, watched a movie and chatted. As we were leaving his place at 12:30 in the morning, hubby’s cell phone rang. It turns out it was our slightly drunk neighbor wanting us to come to his place for a drink. So, we came home, and went to the neighbor’s place for a drink and a game. We didn’t get to bed until nearly two in the morning.

**FCM, ** I’m glad your trip home was safe and I’m doubly glad you didn’t lose your trailer. You must have had a guardian angel on your shoulder. That was a nice picture of you and Puggy.

I really need to go to the grocery store today. I also need to do laundry and do some cleaning up around the house. I really don’t feel like doing any of it, but seeing as how we need to eat, I’m sure I’ll be going to the grocery store at the very least.

I’m going to finish drinking my coffee and cruise the Dope and net for awhile. After that, I’ll have to get cleaned up.

Sorry there was just one pic, but we spent most of our LunchFest talking and laughing and stuff. As it was, on the way out the door, I handed the camera to my kid so we’d have at least that shot. And I corrected the label - apparently my fingers are more accustomed to going FCD than FCM (crap, I even did it there…)

We’re home. The boat has been moved - yay! We were rained upon, and the wind was brisk, but we planned our approach, had dock lines in place, and it went like clockwork. Then again, we’ve been sailing together for almost quarter of a century, so it’s nice to think we’ve gotten it down. We also dropped off my prescription for med refills, and I just finished sorting a metric buttload of dirty laundry. One load in the dryer, one in the washer, 4 more waiting to be done.

In a little bit, we’re going to start unloading the trailer, and then the van. Then I can get my car back in the garage where it belongs.

I’ve got more daffodils blooming than I had when I left, and there are tons of hosta poking up in the front garden. Spring is springing thither and yon! Next year, we should have a really nice garden, with my kid to help me out. Yay!

Cute pics, Dotty. It’s especially nice to see you’re training the young 'un up right - that scrub rag fits her hand nicely!

Dotty, **FCM **-- nice pictures!

My contribution to the photo extravaganza – for all of you under pressure: a special, super-duper Stress Reduction Kit, courtesy of Special Teen (from the door of her dresser in her dorm room in J’lem. Lousy picture, taken under atrocious lighting conditions with my cellphone camera, sorry :o. Read “description” if you can’t decipher what it says)

Does anybody else think MOOOOOOM and Puggy have either just pulled a heist or are just about to pull a heist?

Home from churchification and brunchin’. I’s full. My ‘nanner puddin’ got all et up. There was also a RUM cake with a sign that said adults only on it. WOOHOO!!!

Now for today’s grrrrrr moment. I learned this morning after I arrived at church that a certain person in my foyer group was talkin’ all kinds of plans for when it’s host at da cave time, like that would be any of her bidness in the first place, ok? Turns out she had decided (again, no mention of any ideas to me first) that since I have a pool, it’d be ok to invite a bunch of people with kids and that the kids could play at the pool (bein’ watched by her 14 year old son :dubious: ) while the adults did their thing inside. Ummm… No. First, it’s my house ok? Second, foyer groups are intended to be an adult thing. Now, I have no problem with inviting other adults (if I choose cause again it’s my dang house!) who (whom?) I think might enjoy it (making sure, of course, there’s plenty of food) especially if it’s somebody or bodies newer to the congregation cause that’s a good way to get to know some folks better. Again I emphasize adults. Third, even if I were ok with there being kidlets around, I have a very large thing about no kids at or around the pool without lots of adult supervision and that does not mean a fourteen year old, even if he is a pretty responsible kid. Fourth, it’s my house and I ain’t too keen on folks who just think they can decide to do stuff without at least consulting me first. Needless to say, she got stopped in her tracks. Heh… her husband heard me talkin’ to her and he jumped in and got all over her about it too. It was the first time he’d heard of this also. Obviously couth, manners and plain ol’ sense are not high up on some people’ list of priorities.

OK, enough of that.

dotty HRH looks like a real party animal in those pics. What a cutie!

Happy Sunday, and hip hip hooray for HRH’s birthday.

It’s been a quiet weekend so far at Chez Mahna. I went out for a raucous evening at the pub with my old uni friends, most of whom are still as crazy and dramatic and drunken as they were back then. The Boy stayed home to play some XBox… I suspect they scare him somewhat (esp the 6’ tall Amazonian soprano diva who used to be my roommate in res).

I discovered three things yesterday:

 1. I don’t bounce back after trudging home at 3am the way I used to.
 2. I can get hungover from just 3 pints… even when said 3 pints are consumed over the space of 5 hours.
 3. Frigidaire dishwashers are TEH SUCK. Ours has decided to go on strike and to pretend that the door isn’t closed even though we all know it damn well is. I think we may have to buy a new one - we’re just weeks out of warranty, sadly, and I don’t know if it’s worth spending $200 to fix a $400 piece of crap. Grrrr.

It’s a gorgeous day today. The birdies is singing, the crocuses is blooming, and our lawn looks like a disaster now that the snow has melted. Perfect weather to get rid of the umpteen million pinecones that have magically appeared on our front yard and to make our garden look marginally presentable. Looks like it’s time to resume the never-ending war over the flower beds that is being fought between Me and The Lawn. Those are my beds, you stupid grass. MINE.

As frustrated as I am with the endless series of disasters that is my house, I always seem to find a little forgiveness in my heart when I wake up to a sun-filled bedroom to the sound of birdsong and remember there are flowers poking up their little heads in the garden outside.

Uh, wow, Swampy, that woman has noive! I’m glad you were able to put the kibosh on her evil plans. I just don’t understand people like her.

In the two hours that I’ve been up, I’ve managed to accomplish nothing. I’ve drunk coffee, read the internet news, and cruised the Dope.

Great pictures all the way around!

Yep, I was right earlier. After a lovely piece of leftover pizza for breakfast I took a nap. Now I’m up and contemplating whether to stay here a little while longer or head back home.

I’ve been back for a while and am trying to find the inspiration to go out and garden. I have an invitation to dinner at 6, so I guess I’d better get moving.

I love the stress-reduction device!

I’m home, I’m tired, I did not catch up. I am going to bed. I pormise last weekends pics and some from this weekend in the new MMP. Forgive me for not playing by the rules. G’night.
