An Early Santarchiac MMP

first!

YES MA’AM.

Don’t worry, rosie, I didn’t make it this far without using my good common sense. I’ve got my bases covered and unpleasant surprises in the inside pockets of both of my jackets.

LOL @ Rosie!

I have not done much at all today, although I did make lasagna last night, and a box cake (yellow) today. Tomorrow I’m going to make tandoori chicken with naan bread and maybe a pot of black eyed peas. Thank goodness that Monday is a holiday. I don’t know if I’m just regular “depressed” or maybe I’ve got Seasonal Affective Disorder but I’ve been feeling very blase and down in the dumps the past few weeks. And I haven’t gotten back to the pool yet. I know that will help tremendously, from prior experience (exercise is definitely good for my spirits). Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy, but Monday I -will- get out and about for at least a bit. Promise to myself.

Hugs to everyone who needs or even just wants them, and prayers too. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Huh.

Apparently last night was a big night for weirdo dreamage. In my dream, I had a baby… except my baby wasn’t a baby, it was a deaf-mute tortoiseshell cat. I apparently insisted on carrying the cat around in one of those sling carriers, though the cat kept escaping from it and running away. Anyhoo, I woke up very frustrated and even further convinced that I’m totally not cut out for motherhood.

Also, the Coen Brothers are in my bad books. We just finished watching A Serious Man, and that’s their third damn movie with no real damn ending. They’re starting to make Neal Stephenson look good by comparison. goddammit. No more Coen Brothers movies until they start writing goddamn endings again. Goddamn.

It’s rainy and ick out. I’m thinking I might play in clay today. I’ve had a couple of requests for items and I need to fill the kiln, so I’ll do some throwing.

Gotta do laundry, too. I’m down to 2 clean pairs of jeans.

And I’m going to rotiss a chickie for supper.

I’m sorry - don’t mean to rub your faces in it - I know you all envy my exciting life…

:stuck_out_tongue:

Mornin’ Y’all! My weekstart commences.

Da cave needs defilthyfication so I suppose I shall do so this afternoon.

And MOOOOOOM thinks she’s the only one with an excitin’ life! Sheesh! :stuck_out_tongue:

It rained all day yesterday and through the night. It’s been rainy this mornin’ but it’s supposed to stop and be in the mid 60s today. Looks like our winter temps are returnin’ to normal finally.

Guess I should figure out some brekkies and purtify for churchification.

Later Y’all!

Happy Birthday, Nat! (A couple days late, but still…)

Cautious gratz on the date, Spaz.

Sounds like a great coaching session, rosie. Funny LOLs, too.

Busy day yesteday - meeting at the park, then a long lunch with friends, then minutes and such to write, then knitting.

Gotta get up and get to church now…

Back later.

Hugs.

They need to put Steve Buscemi through a woodchipper again.

What gets me is that “No Country for Old Men” had an ending and then there was that bit with Tommy Lee Jones telling a pointless story that finished up the movie. I don’t care if it was in the book, it made no sense and ruined everything. But that’s a rant for another day.

I don’t wanna go to work today, but I also don’t want my paycheck to be as sad as it’s gonna be if I don’t. With the two extra hours Friday and my hours today I’ll be back at the original six-hour deficit this week had before I got sick.

Good morning everyone. I slept way too late and my back is definitely griping at me about it.

The beef stroganoff turned out very well. It was a different recipe than I had used in the past, so I ended up tweaking it. I think it could have used a touch more garlic, but other than that it was good.

We had a nice visit with our friends and ended up watching a movie with them.

tarra, I hear you on the blues. I’ve been a little down too, and I don’t know why.

Mr. Taters wants to go to the mall today to get some new boots. His work boots are completely trashed and are leaking. Not a good thing in a rainy climate. He’s had them a good long while, so I guess we got our money’s worth out of them.

I’m going to finish my coffee and hit the shower.

Something I’ve been meaning to ask many times - what’s the big deal about being the first on the page? Do you get a check from Bill Gates or something? Am I that tragically unhip? I just don’t get it.

It’s raining, and both our cars are outside getting rinsed off. **FCD **just finished purging his closet plus the closet in the green room. I’ve got 2 pack-jammed full bags to donate to AMVETS. I emailed them a request to call me and tell me when they’ll be in the neighborhood. They’ll be getting some good stuff - including a suit that was worn maybe twice? I still need to sort my closet - there are a few things that can go - like the dress I bought for daughter’s high school graduation and haven’t worn since. Yay class of 2004! Plus slacks and jacket that I’ve never worn - they looked better in the catalog than in real life. And probably a few other things that can go - sweaters that don’t fit and such.

Still thinking about claying this afternoon. Maybe. It’s cold down there and working clay is wet. Maybe tomorrow?? I could just knit today. And do laundry. I don’t much feel like doing anything - I blame the rain.

We’re going to break down the fish tank today and clean it top to bottom too. The worst part is cleaning out the gravel. Do you know how long it takes to clean 55 pounds of gravel?! Somehow, I am always stuck with this job.

What I need is a big sturdy framed screen mesh or something, with holes big enough to let the gunk out, but not big enough to let the gravel escape.

Yes, I realize I could make one, but somehow I haven’t gotten around to it.

FCM, it’s just for the bragging rights. After all, there are fifty posts per page, but only one of them gets the privilege of being first.

That’s all I got.

Spaz, I’d make an exception to my boycott if the Coens do something terrible to Steve Buscemi again. Or just make another movie with Steve Buscemi in it, for that matter, even if he gets to keep all his body parts and survives to the end.

So I was a good girl and went to yoga class this morning, then met up with The Boy for a nomalicious brunch. Now I’m going to kick back for the rest of the day, whine about how much I hurt, and possibly make a pot of risotto for din dins.

Had a really good lunch with a work friend, her hubby & daughter which extended all afternoon…I had a really nice time.

I am not hungry but I need to put together the veggie lasagne for suppers this week (I made the sauce yesterday so just need to grate some cheese and then layer it up)

Other than that some reading and early night I believe!

Mwah!

Hi folks! Sooooooo busy these last couple weeks, writing a grant which may not get submitted. Boo.

Good news is I’ve lost almost seven pounds since new years! On purpose!

So, how you all been?

And only one can be second and only one can be third…

It’s still raining. It’s still cold. My chicken is still not thawed. I haven’t clayed, but I have knitted and done some laundry.

Yes, the whirlwind that is life at FairyChatEstates goes on an on…

There are also malicious brunches? In Soviet Russia, Brunch eats You?!

I was gonna say “I’ve found them” but that isn’t actually true - I think I’ve lost about 7 lbs in the last two weeks as well.

I’m all :grrr: at my cellphone provider – went in about 10 days ago and replaced a few phones; spent a few hours at there service center. One of the phones up and dies for no good reason – after only a few days of use! – and they want me to trek all the way across town to their service center and spend another few hours there to get it replaced. After having told me I could drop it off at a dealer which was 5 minutes from work. Which apparently, according to the dealer, I can’t, actually . Oh, and there’s a much closer and more convenient (to me) service center in the other direction which they didn’t bother mentioning in the morning, and by the time I learned about it it was too late for me to go there because I had other errands to run…
And they’re all “we’re so sorry, we wish we could do something” without the tiniest hint of sincerity in their voices, too…
Tomorrow I’m going to get me a supervisor whose ear I will bend, and if I need to I will go to their Complaints department and to the (equivalent of) the BBB here.
Grrrrrrr…

But…first is so much better than the others! :stuck_out_tongue:

Personally, I blame gray winter days, tarra and Taters. We had a sunny day during the week and I felt COMPLETELY different.

Have knit some more and am uploading further pictures. Really need to get back into the kitchen to finish tearing stuff apart and putting it back together again.

But am completely uninspired, so I think I might just go to Lowe’s to return a couple of items.

Or…something else.

Back later.

Howdy Y’all! I’ve been churchified, lunchified (N.O.L.) and am in the process of cave sanitization. The master bath, master bedroom and kitchen are done. Next up the rest of da cave plus moppin’ everything which is the last thing I always do. Go me.

Ok, onward with the cleanup!

I over-rotissed the chickie, and it was falling off the bone. Very yummy. I’m going to boil the carcass and take some of the leftover meat and make some chickie noodle soup. Gotta get carrots… I think I have noodles in the pantry.

Supper was good but we have no dessert. That’s not right. Who’s keeping the dessert fairy away from my house? Knock it off!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
