An Early Santarchiac MMP

That’s awesome about the nursery school, Dotty! And a visit to a camel farm sounds like fun. Can I come along?

Bad SO!

Does this mean Arnold reads the MMP? ::waves::

Hope your headache is better by now, Soapy.

Added cottage pie info and recipe link to the blog. I’ve heard rutabagas called swedes before, but can’t remember where.

Almost forgot: Hi Alien! How’s it going?

Up and at 'em. Later than I wanted, but am going to go attack the kitchen. Really need to take it apart and put it back together again. It’s really a good thing that my kitchen is small.

It’s my last day off. Boo. (NoB) At least next Monday is a holiday.

Back later.

Lab just called, wife is off coumdin because she was on 18mg and her INR was going down—well they put her on Lovenox shots daily, at a list price of $112.40 each. Last week they drew her blood to determin the correct dose. Seems the lab pooched the results, and they need a new vial of B+. Of course, now they want it fasting, and it needs to be taken, 32 miles away, four hours after I stab her. Tomorrow has been officialy screwed over for a A110 test.

Wankers.

I have deemed the Sharpie retractable pen experiment a failure. Unless you store the things pen-side down, they’re always dry and useless.

My prayers and best to you and all who need them this week

I had a splinter in my cottage cheese once. I complained to the grocer and he said “Well, what did you expect? The whole cottage???”

(I am sooooooo ashamed of sharing that old joke.)

Sorry things are so awful, Alien. Good thoughts and prayers headed your way.

If you don’t pay attention to the pantry, the soups multiply. Just sayin’.

If it makes you feel better, ruble, I was going to say something like “first, you peel the cottage.” ::slinks off to hide in corner::

I got sent home from work for being sick today. Last night I had another case of PMS with a side of migraine. My health and this week need to start getting along.

In  news, I found out today that Maintenance N, a large ex-Marine who don’t take no crap from nobody, used to crochet. He’s bringing be a crochet book next time I see him.

Better than trying to peel a shepherd. They tend to object loudly when peeled.

No, that’s the Chinese stuff at Target. About a week ago, BIL bought two bookcases at Target for his office. The first one went together kinda-sorta tolerably OK, but assembly of the second one ended up as a dramatic blend of crunching and cursing, followed by a couple trips to the dumpster.

I was nervous and fearing for my weekend as he’d bought a pile of Ikea furniture a bit earlier, and I had visions of either much more expensive particle board being thrashed, or being called over to help. My fears were unfounded - the Ikea stuff is so much better thought-out than the Target stuff and he had zero problems with it, other than missing one Ikeanut. It’s amazing that they don’t have more problems with missing parts, considering how many parts are in each box and how many boxes are in the store - there’s probably close to a million of those quarter-turn nuts in the building at any one time.

Muppet you should add to that, “and I do not care. So There!” :stuck_out_tongue:

Alien hope all this gets the wife feelin’ better soon.

Howdy Y’all! One down and four to go!

Tonight is taco night at El Rancho Swampcave.

Rutabagas are ICK! They rate right after [del]fart blossoms[/del] Brussels Sprouts for ickiness. YUCK!!!

Nekkid Swedes and Italians, on the other hand, are nummy.

Ya know, this day is sucking ASS.

That is all.

:smack:Latest update: new med, doc wants her on 60mg. Biggest pill they make is 45mg. Insurance won’t pay for more than one pill a day:smack::smack::smack:

{{{Alien}}}

Insurance sucks.

I am very angry about my own insurance situation right now. Apparently there is no help for us. What a joke.

(No offense, GT, and the person who sent me a PM about the situation, I appreciate your suggestions. But it pretty much seems like a lost cause at this point.) Thank you, U.S.A.

Prayers for you and mrs volon

Can I go on the camel farm visit also? Got to be better than my tomorrow is going to be

No offense taken. The fact that people aren’t able to get basic health care in this country without going broke ticks me off royally. On the human dignity side, it’s offensive. On the economic side, I suspect we spend tons more money than we need to as a country because people wind up needing more complex treatment because the preventive and maintenance stuff doesn’t happen. Wish there was something I could do to help, Pie.

Alien, is there a way to get an exception to what insurance will pay for? Maybe the doctor’s office or pharmacy can help.

Back from running errands. Time to return stuff to the pantry and proceed with further kitchen clean up. Quite exciting.

Back later.

I’ve got a photo of you and me together - in fact, the me half is the photo I have there. I can crop you and send it to you if you’d like.

For some obscene reason, I woke up around 2AM having a coughing fit. I had to get out of bed and have some milk to get it to calm down. But from 2 till 5, I never really got back to sleep. So I’s tahred. I see an early bedtime tonight.

I finished the kidlet afghan last night - I need to weave in the ends where colors joined, then I’ll post pics. And I’ve got another one started.

Big news of the day - my car is MINE!!! I went to the credit union and paid it off. And if I apply its payment to FCD’s car payment, his will be paid of by this time next year. So yay! I love retiring debts! Now, if I can just beat VISA into submission…

That’s all. Happy Tuesday!

That was my yesterday. I think I passed it on to you. Here’s hoping you can fob it off on someone else tomorrow!

Today’s been better if still insanely busy.

Did anyone else here see the Dirty Jobs episode at a camel farm? I don’t think I’d want my kid seeing that! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve read but not retained. Except that insurance sucks. Unless you’re healthy and don’t need it. Hope everyone’s week improves.

I’m pushing my smiley limit so I’d better go. :p:dubious::smiley:

Yay on vehicle payoffs! In four more years I can get all yay over twuck bein’ paid off. Then again, da cave is paid for and that’s a big YAY!!!

Tacos were good! We don’t eat 'em often, so when we do have tacos they are just sooooooooooooo good! YUM!

Think I’ll go ogle the pics.

Another day down, three more to go

I’m wondering if I should go ahead and call in sick for tomorrow. I still feel like crap. I’ll wait another couple of hours and see. I’ll probably have to go to the urgent care and get A Doctor’s Note.

Well, if I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I was wrong.

GilaMonster’s husband is currently in Haiti on a missions trip. She has no idea how he is or what part of the country he is in. :frowning:
