No. Rather the opposite. They were making camel babies. There was a lot of slobber and part of the male camel’s palate hang out. It was really quite unattractive.
I, too, got the picture request, but right now I’m a bit hesitant to post a picture. I have before and I may again some day. But… well, mostly I’m feeling contrary. If it’s what everyone else is doing, then I’m not! So there.
Work’s so-so today. I’m training someone. Which is a good thing in the long run, but painful for all involved in the short run. Plus, the server’s running really slowly so there’s a lot of waiting time, which makes it boring as well as difficult, tiring, and frustrating. Fun fun.
Glad to hear that Mr GilaMonster and his group are all ok, Pie. I can’t believe all the photos of the devastation in Haiti… those poor, poor people.

Things are not good. There is no way for them to get out of Haiti before their scheduled return date which is Monday and their hotel has completely collapsed. For now they are ok, but they’re worried about rioting. Also, the director of the missionary program was missing the last that we heard which was sometime this morning.
I spent most of the day with GilaMonster. Somehow the local news found out what was going on and wanted to interview the wives. Just as they were about finished, they got a call saying that it is possible that they might make it out much sooner. I can’t give details right now, but we’re all hoping for the best.
Yay for some good news CutiePie. Please let GilaMonster know that this weird person you don’t really know but know anyway in south Jawja is keeping her husband, his mission team and her in his thoughts and prayers.

Glad it sounds like Mr. Gila Monster might be able to get out sooner rather than later. I’ve got NPR on in the background and it’s felt like that’s practically all they’ve been reporting on. The U.S. Embassy was apparently undamaged, so turning there for help if they still need anything sounds like it would be an option (assuming they can get there, which might not be too easy). On the plus side, they reported that the airport was in better shape than expected, so aid should be able to arrive by air much sooner than originally anticipated.
Today was my Monday. It was too long. That is all.
So, guess who’ll be writing an article every couple of weeks for a local restaurant/food site?

Life here is just the SSDD. My tailbone and left hip and elbow still hurt significantly enough for me to pretty please my P.A. out of a few pain pills, but she said that if I don’t feel better in a few days I need to get seen to ensure I didn’t break anything. My blood work showed me positive for h.pylori, which I already knew, but the surgeon is insisting that I be treated for it. So I get a pack of heavy duty antibiotics along with the pain meds, whoopie, party down!
I began this in the morning, it is now almost early evening. Reality tapped me on the shoulder and told me to post or delete, so I will post a very incomplete post. rosie’s sig to everyone in appropriate applications.

Life in general is crap - work crap, home crap, don’t wanna do nothing crap. Mostly tired crap. I need a solid, uninterrupted night of sleep, but it ain’t happening lately. When I’m rested, I’m a lot mellower…

Ugh, what a long day. Frankly, it was another frustrating day. My mood is about the same as Mooooom’s. The fact that I’m in constant pain doesn’t really help, but it’s such a low grade pain most of the time, I just don’t realize I’m in pain until it subsides for a few minutes. It’s making me very tired.

I ended up leaving work half an hour later than normal, which on the face of things isn’t horrible, but traffic is completely fubarred at that time of evening. I was supposed to make chicken and dumplings tonight, but it’ll have to wait until tomorrow night. I made a little headway on a project that is sucking all my time up, and am hoping that it’ll be finished tomorrow.
Then I can move on the 99 bazillion other projects I’ve got.:rolleyes:
