FCM, please stop talking about buffalo chicken dip. I’m the only one around here who actually eats it for one reason or another so I’m never justified in making it.

I had a good afternoon - my friend A came over and helped with a little more organizing - the living room looks better - not guest worthy, but better. Then we ordered in some Chinese food, and talked and laughed and played a board game until about 9:30. I am so glad she’s as much a clutter bug as I - I don’t have to be embarrassed to let her in.
Snow! Snow! YAY! It’s been snowing since sometime past midnight last night, not too heavily, but steadily. I’m guessing we’ve gotten about four, maybe five inches, and it’s still coming. YAY! SNOW!!!

It’s OYKW birthday. He’s now as old as I am. 
I am not wakin’ him up to wish him happy bday cause that’d be mean. I’ll call him from work instead.
I may not be back in here today. Gotta get a bday/New Year’s dindin for eight people together after work plus make a casserole for tomorrow cause it’s brunch Sunday at church. Thus, da bear will be in cook mode for a while.

It was supposed to be Cold As Scandinavian Hell today. It is instead Cold As Scandinavian Hell and snowing. This time it’s a light fluffy snow, so maybe it won’t thaw, freeze and resolve itself into a blanket of ice.

Ok, I didn’t read (sorry), but am now in urgent need of naming advice for our new cat. Currently her name is Nina (a temp name from the shelter–she was a stray).

General update – no change from last year. They did some emergency surgery on the MIL (even with the blood thinners) and it didn’t make things worse but didn’t make them better. Life goes on with lots of side-trips to visit and help as we can.
HAPPY NEW YEARS!!! We did slip down the casino for a while. And we were in a silly mood and the roads were basically just wet so we took the Harley and pulled up at the valet parking. The young fellows there had a discussion over who got to take it (several wanted to) and I allowed as how I was NOT going to check the mileage when I got back. Good thing because it got about 11 miles of service just around the garage.
The crowd was super. It was shoulder to shoulder and wait for a machine but everyone was really cool with it all - no bumping or cross words at all. Some folks were seriously intoxicated but not sloppy - just really drunk. There were some good offers going and the lines too long so we hit it again New Years Day for about an hour. Total damage – played slots for 6 “manhours”, had good buffet dinners and breakfasts and the whole tab was around $50.
(being roughly $50 ahead on the slots play helped)
Looking forward to maybe going to work a little this week. Have also started on my mmp for the 11th. Got some good pictures to share. And loving the distraction too.
