An MMP of Elopement

Be careful what you ask for, darlin’ - I have your address and I’m not above commissioning my sister for a special order.

**Shellibean **- FCD’s version involves me begging him to take me out. The truth lies somewhere in between, but closer to my version. Trust me.

Ahh … now that looks like a shoe, FCM! It did little to improve my opinion, however. LOL

Yay kaiwik! I’m looking forward to goggie pics - and btw, tupugs, I’m still looking for -your- goggie pics!

And congrats to Gotti and DH! Glad to hear that all went smoothly. And happy anniversary to Taxi and KeithT!!

Is it Firday yet?

That is one EXCELLENT shoe!

Happy 25th to the FairyChats!!!

Great elopement story, too. I know you’ve said that you got married after only a few weeks, but it’s cool to hear the whole story.

Today was work, then book group. I’m tired.

Off to bed.

Hugs.

GT

Happy anniversary, FCM! (Speaking of anniversaries, a coworker of mine was totally charmed today by making a reservation for a man who was surprising his wife with a stay with us for their 50th. So sweet!)

We still don’t have any #%&$!( snow. We got a trace last night. It’s gotten a lot colder and they’re planning to open a few ski runs Wednesday, but it’s going to be skiing on manmade snow which is, from what I have been occasionally indignantly told, is highly inferior to Mama Gaia’s. Well, until She decides to drop a bunch of hers on us that’s what we’ve got. Shut up and ski.

Snowbunny, you are more than welcome to come and get all of my snow. By the time all is said and done, by tomorrow night we will have a minimum of 14" dumped on us.:mad:

Great OP, FaerieMum. :: romantic sigh :: And uh, nice shoe.

Happy anniversary to taxi and KT too!

Congrats, gotti! I wish you many years of marital bliss.

On the other hand, some guys are right assholes. :: hugs for Shelli ::

Yesterday I found out I won our end-of-term bonus for the fall. Our academy rates our instructors S, A, B, C, and F at the end of every term, and gives out bonuses to the top two tiers. It’s not a whole lot, but it does make me feel good.

I got in at 6am today! :smack: A handful of us got dinner after work, and then Irish Co-Worker and I ended up lingering after people left. We actually had conversation instead of making out - a first for us. :dubious: It was good though. Not that I mind the making out.

Congrats, FCCouple!!! My parents have been married for 39 years. I’ve been a bachelor for 37. I worked all day, but it didn’t snow.

Hay, kai!!!

Welvcome back, BookCat!!! And twickster!!! and the newbies!

I would only swear for a few minutes at this point if we got 14" of snow dumped on us, Wallflower. But first, I would party. Of all the years for a late winter…grumble grumble…

Why, yes, I am obsessing. You would too if you worked for the company I work for. We need the stuff!

How did I miss that post, gotti – CONGRATS!

Thanks! I haven’t had time to post much lately, as I’ve been working a lot, as seen here.
We joke around a lot, and have fun, but it’s hard work and I’m often so exhausted at the end of the day that I can do little more than skim the MMP. You guys are too fast for me!

Smartie, PM or email me (in my profile) if you’re really serious about seeing if my BIL might be hiring, and I’ll give you his info. He’s an absolute sweetie. His wife, not so much. My opinion of her is not for public consumption, but let’s just say that although I have been married to her brother for 12 years now, I honestly cannot remember one single time – even when I was at her house – when she actually spoke to me. Not exactly a warm welcome to the family. Fortunately, only two out of Papa Tigs’ four sisters are not very nice. The one who lives where snowbunny is is delightful, and then my SIL married to Papa Tigs’ brother is one of the nicest women you’ll ever meet. Families are so interesting…to put it mildly.

I got stuck with a last-minute rush job late in the day today, so I should shut up and get a bit more done before I give up and crawl in bed. I was so tired I fell asleep after watching Jeopardy in the lounge chair in the living room – Papa Tigs finally had to wake me up and make me get up and go back to work!

Very nice OP, FCM! Happy Anniversary to the both of you as well as taxi and Keith T.

Congrats to **gotti **and gottispouse as well!

Whew! It’s been a right long day! My daughter also informed me she wants to transfer to the Seattle campus of UW. I asked her how she thought she was going to be able to do that; no license yet, she’d have to get a job, and she doesn’t have enough in student loans and financial aid to cover the housing. I really hope she can get in touch with her advisor tomorrow so they can work something for classes down here.

I understand her wanting to transfer, but I told her I thought it would be better to wait until fall so she could ensure she had enough in student loans and aid to cover living up there as well.

They’re talking about us flirting with snow here in the Puget Sound region come Friday. I dunno, conditons have to absolutely perfect for the snow to drop down here. The right amount of cold air from the north, mixing with the right amount of moisture and warm air from the south.

Well, off to bed I think. Hugs to all.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Goin’ in a little earlier today too. On top of the usual mayhem, there’s a bunch of folks from a trainin’ class that just ended who are gettin’ started on the phones this week. Makes for good times.

Happy Anniversary Taxi and KeithT! May you live long and prosper.

It’s warmish out this mornin’. Supposed to be mid 70s today then start rainin’ tomorrow. Actually stormin’ tomorrow. Maybe this will push on northwards and bring snowbunny her snow.

Ok, time for more caffiene and brekkie foragin’.

Later Y’all!

Up. caffeinated. Hope I don’t have to work all day today.

Up and caffeinating here as well. And ready to head off to work, there’s the rub! LOL Ah well, happy Tuesday all.

Slept like a log. Yay!!!

Congratulations on the wedding, gotti and DH. And happy anniversary to taxi and KT.

It’s supposed to be in the 50s today and then back in the 30s again tomorrow.

I have a really bad case of the donwannas. But I hafta.

Hugs…

GT

We had a power outage last night for over an hour. Very exciting. Don’t know why it happened though- calm winds, no snow or ice… the entire neighborhood just went dark.

The candles were pretty!

Blurf.

ReboSon came over last night because he had a power outage! What a coinkydink! He wanted to watch Heroes, and ended up staying until 11:30 when I kicked him out so I could go to bed. I fed him poke chops and mashed NOT.

I’m tahred.

**Happy Anniversary, FairyChats and taxi and KT!

Congrats on the wedding, gotti and DH!**

It’s warm, humid and rainy here. We’re getting a cold front tonight, and we should get some low 30’s by Thursday. Brrr!

I have a scratchy throat - I better not be getting sick! I never get sick.

Blurf.

Whrf.

Moderately awake, caffeinating. Still need more sleep but at least I got to bed a bit earlier last night. Snowed rather significantly overnight though, so now all the roads are crap, and this being the first significant snowfall of the season, everyone has completely forgotten A) how to drive, B) snow is slippery, and C) oh, that’s right, I have winter tires … somewhere. At least the temperature is particularly mild though.

Oh, and I went to the liquor store over the weekend. This wouldn’t be noteworthy by any stretch except neither my wife nor I are drinkers except maybe one or two at social gatherings once in a while, or sometimes when we’re out for dinner. so this trip to the liquor store was actually my first time ever going where I had the full intention of purchasing liquor myself. (Yep. 37 years old and I just bought alcohol all by myself!) I picked up some rum-laced egg nog, plus some Bailey’s, Kahlua and Grand Marnier, the latter 3 for the purpose of making a triple-layer B-52 cheesecake. And of course, the leftovers for making Bailey’s and B-52 coffees. Or maybe just a few B-52s.

Moooom - That is certainly one heck of a shoe – a work of art, to be sure, although I could swear I saw Eddie Izzard wearing a pair of those once.

Gotti - Congrats! The ceremony sounded awesome. I love seeing non-traditional weddings. It keeps things interesting.

Mmkay, really need to blog. I got one – one – bloody review done yesterday. (Too damn exhausted to do anything else) Need to step it up today.

Thanks for the hugs and well wishes guys but I promise it’s not as sad a story as it sounds like. It’s really more of a farce. I try to refer to them as baby daddy 1 and baby daddy 2 because it makes them sound more sophisticated.

gotti - congratulations on the wedding! very exciting time for you!

And congratulations to all celebrating wedding anniversaries this month. I have nothing but respect for people that maintain healthy loving marriages (25 years - wow!) in a time when it is so very easy to cut and run.

HNC - OK you seem to be progressing with Irish boy. I had said he wasn’t ready for you but I guess I was wrong. Still, he better be nice to you. Cause I like you and I’m kind of a redneck girl like that.

whiterabbit - I am still trying to read your posts. I understand the words individually but together they don’t make sense. Snow, want it, need it. Hmmm… Well, it’s 40 degrees here so I better go crank the heat up to 80… j/k - I don’t know where you work but I assume a ski town. One of my good friends worked at Vail Resorts for a long time and moved back here. It has been dipping down lately into the 30s and she was freezing her ass off and she said “when I lived in Vail it was fun. This shit is just cold.”

I worked last night and I love working Monday nights. It’s easy and the men tip well. There was a poker game that ran until just 10 and I was done by then but it was quick money that was fun to make - I like joking around with the old guys!

Happy start to the day- I was a colleague/friend’s house for a meeting last Thursday for a faculty meeting. I saw their grocery list and added “Chocolate for Ivory” on it. Her husband, who is also a colleague, took it seriously and I had chocolate delivered to me this morning.

Fun!
