Can you set up a server with bots? That would be anotehr way to prevent people from leaving (in theory).
Does anyone want to set up a non-source server? I haven’t bought HL2 yet and I am still on 1.6 CS.
I’m probably not going out tonight, anyone interested in getting together later? We only need 3-4 people to get the game going since pubbies join quickly.

Sure, all my friends ran off on a road trip I didn’t want to go on so I’ll probably be staying in.
I tried playing on that server tonight, but no sdmb members were online. At least I hope that Delphi isn’t a member here. He didn’t even try to defuse my bombs and kept saying things like “you sux fag”. I haven’t played a lot of online games yet, but that was just like I’ve feared it would be.
So, how about soon? Meet up at 8 to 9 eastern? Once we get 3-4 players in there, the game will grow, and people can come and go as they please.
One thing… put [SDMB] in your name so we know who’s from here and who’s a random public player.
Yeah, sorry you ran into one of the regular CS idiots. They’re basically what you’re going to have to settle for, unfortunately… you can just learn to ignore them. We have more than 10 CS players that showed up last week, so if we get things well coordinated, we could potentially have 5 on 5 all-SDMB games or better.
In any case, it’s a good idea for us to set a specific time to meet up, otherwise, like what happened to you, someone will join, stay for 15 minutes, see no other SDMB guys, leave…
So, let’s say… meet up at 8 eastern (15 minutes)… or if you get this message late, join whenever you get it.

We’ll have more games. I’m hoping to form an e-mail list or something to get ahold of more people… Jayrot can try to organize that if he wants, give out his e-mail, let everyone else mail him, form a list…

I’d love to play, but as far as I know i don’t have CS: Source. 
This is the CS mod for HL 2, right? Or is it just the latest version of CS from Steam? Do I have to purchase HL 2 to play? If so, I gots to wait till X-Mas, when either someone gets it for me, or no one does so I buy it myself. 
I just email Jayrot to join the list. I haven’t played CS:S, but I’ll give it the old college try tonight.

Sorry for my abrupt exit, guys.
I tried to install a nice, new, 2 pound video card this weekend. Couldn’t get the alignment right with the port, it wouldn’t work right. Put my old card back in… and it ran fine for about a day. Then suddenly it didn’t want to work either. I guess I damaged my AGP port.
I can get the system to run, oh, about 2-10 minutes now before it glitches hard enough to crash. Time to get a new motherboard, I guess.
And I was only around for 30 minutes or so. I put in a new ethernet bridge, and after 30 minutes got the BSoD.
Good times, though!
