An Unlabored MMP

I’m actually off on Labor Day. Who else is?

First!

Yes, yes I’m off.

My sister taught me some union songs in honor of the day.

FIRST!!! Me, I am off. Yippee! I have been invited to a beach party and may go. There will be food and drink and Jell-O shots.

Off from work, but do have homework and need to study for a test.

I’m always off
but I will be irking today.

ME!! Oh wait - I haven’t gone back to work yet. But when I do, I will get the Fed holidays off, so there’s that.

My labor, in honor of the day, will involve washing a load of towels and seeding the last bare patch that I intend to deal with. That means I’ll spend the next 2 weeks moving the sprinklers around to help establish the new grass. We’re promised higher-than-average temps the next 4 days, then it’ll drop down where it’s supposed to be. Hope that’s an indicator that autumn is creeping in.

Meanwhile, I’d rather be sleeping. Woke twice overnight. My cold seems to be wrapping itself up, but there’s still enough left to be annoying. Why me?? I’m nice, dammit!!

Happy Moanday anyway!

I’m off, too. But then I have been for the last two years.

rosie, I suspect you’ve been a little off for a lot longer than that…

Sorry - just can’t resist an easy cheap shot.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 84 (BRRRRR!) and sunny. However, right now it’s all cloudy out so we shall see.

I am not irkin’ today. Well, duh! This is the end of my four day weekend. At least there will be only four days this week.

And now this…

<AHEM> CLEARING THROAT <AHEM>

OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I must purtify at some point. After that, who knows! It’s a willy-nilly day.

Happy Moanday/Labor Day Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to the laundromat.

Happy Birthday Midget!!!

Happy Birthday Midget!!!

Same here!

Up and watching the original Casino Royale.

Working today but at a higher pay rate. With this company the only day we close is Christmas Day and that isn’t 100%. Six days get time and a half; today being one of them. We’ll have a fair number of call-offs but I’m guessing nothing like Thanksgiving Day when the rate was 50% or a bit better. Hey – it’s a factory basically although the “product” is boxes and boxes. You can’t just shut down a factory because its some certain day.

Happy Midget Day!

I slept in until :eek:8:30:eek: this morning. I really needed that extra sleep. Now I’m having a nice cup of nutmeg coffee and planning on doing nothing today.

Use Your Illusion I isn’t as mind-blowingly wonderful as the hype told me. But it does have “November Rain” and “Don’t Cry” on it, so it’s not a complete waste.

**happy birthday midget!!!

Thanks, **swampy, **for leading the birthday chorus. Thanks everyone else too.

BigKitty, I got up at about 8:15. Though I was out late last night. Had a party with some friends. Good times

I am off and began enjoying labor day by sleeping in to 8:15am. Had my ‘vacation’ by going to Nashville yesterday and spending 4 hours wandering about the Zoo there (very nice grounds, but not all that many animals). Also completed the September re-stock at the grocery, so food is once more plentiful in case SSR.

Need to sweep my house; for some reason I am loathe to employ my vacumn until the floors are truly yucky. but their state has reached even my limit.

Outside of that, reading and browsing are on the menu today, with perhaps a foray to the shops for a new pair of slippers, as mine have found religion (they are holy).

And Happy Orbit Completion Day, Midget.

I am up, showered, getting ready to actually go somewhere  I am much of a homebody and introvert but I have been invited to the beach so I guess I’ll go for a while. It’s in Marathon at Sombrero Beach which is about 15 miles above my island. I can’t be gone too long as I have to remain soberish enough to drive back home.

I have to stop somewhere and buy a sun hat. I am not fooling with a cooler as my niece owns a bar and I imagine there is no need to bring anything.

Have a GREAT Labor Day all.

Thanks MetalMouse

Happy Midget Day!!!

We had breakfast at Bob Evans for the first time in ages. Then a stop at Lowe’s for lawn fertilizer and a roll of straw mulch for the seeding I’m going to do in a bit. I’ve got a load of towels almost done in the washer, I’ve flung fertilizer on the seeded areas of lawn and the sprinklers are going. When my timer beeps, I move one sprinkler, turn another off, hang out the towels, then attack the last patch that needs to be seeded. When that’s done, I’m done.

Just a little labor on Labor Day!

Afternoon, mumpers! Happy Labour Day to those who celebrate it - we don’t get that as a holiday over here so I have been properly labouring. I had a meeting with my manager this morning and got rid of a job I didn’t want to do, in return I got something I have been interested in getting involved it. It’s a timetabling job that I have pretty much done this year because my co-irker decided he didn’t want to do it any more and threw his toys out of the pram about it. Thus I have told manager lady that I will take timetabling on, and he will have departmental meetings in return. She is happy, mostly because it means I’m not leaving.

All of the admin staff have scheduled fortnightly meetings with her, which we haven’t really stuck to over the summer for various reasons. I think she (and the other admins) were a bit alarmed when I came in this morning and immediately said I needed to have my scheduled meeting with her today! The first question was “you’re not leaving, are you?” - apparently I am not allowed to do that.

Isn’t it nice to be wanted?

Following on from moooom’s fine example, I may do laundry tonight. The stuff that was washed earlier in the week is dry and I have other stuff that needs washing next.

The brats are back at school now too, that means the bus will be full of the screeching yowling monsters. Why can’t kids talk to each other any more? Why do they have to squeal and shout all the time? Bah! And what are they doing on my lawn?
