Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 70 and what appears to be a pretty stormy afternoon. Fine by me cause I got nuttin’ pressin’ to do except defilthyfy da cave somewhat.
StickyBuns glad your injury is not super serious. Interestin’ place to apply a daiquiri though. Usually those are to be taken internally. Hope your dad gets sprung today.
Hi rigs! Good to see you even if it’s just a flying visit. You’re in good company being left out of the MMP sticky…maybe that’s what happens to the coolest of the cool kids, they simply don’t need a mention because it’s universally accepted that they’re way beyond cool.
Nothing exciting here this weekend, went out after work on Friday to our favourite Latin restaurant and had yummy food and even yummier cocktails. Saturday was errands and stuff, Sunday so far has been domestic chores (laundry, ironing and vacuuming) but now that’s done I can have the rest of the day to do proper Sunday stuff (that’s lazing on the sofa to the rest of you).
We have just booked ourselves a week’s trip to New York for the end of February 'cos we’re coming to see Van Halen. Woot! Sorted out the flights already but haven’t quite decided on the hotel yet but we have a few options to consider.
mmmms, it’s good to hear that the memorial service went well and the church ladies did a good job on the catering. If we had church ladies like that over here, I’d almost be tempted to consider giving up being a heathen.
Can you take some off around my middle?
I’ve commandeered my mother’s cane for walking around the house. Poor Bubster is in there barking to be let out, but I guess he’s just going to have to cross his legs until my grandparents get out of bed. I’m not even sure I could make it down the stairs at this point let alone take him outside in the snow.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I’m just going to be sitting here with daquiris and other assorted frozen items on my knee watching tv and/or doing homework.
ETA: How could I forget? ** Happy Birthday, Spaz!!!**
I’m up, caffeinated, and slothing. C and I are looking at rental houses this afternoon, then I’m off to Chuck-E-Cheese for my “just friend”:)'s grandson’s birthday.
Hope the knee gets better, Sticks. If the daquari mix is on your knee, where did you put the rum?
Rebo, can I have some bacon and eggs, and Dipsey, please?
I would think we could ask one of the mods to edit the FAQ. I’m sure there are other people and facts we’ve forgotten along the way.
janis, do you have the original in a form that can be edited? If so, I can post it in the same place I have the topic list and keep an updated version there and give others editing powers. Maybe someone could take editing suggestions for a week or so and then send the updated version to the mods to be updated? ::looks meaningfully at rosie and janis::
Have been productive already this morning. Yay! Dishes done. Breakfast consumed, including yummy tea. Compiled errand and grocery list. Showered and dressed. Worked on idea for valentines (am also sending valentines to everyone I missed at Christmas, so I’m figuring out something that will work for a bunch of people).
I just pulled my lazy self out of bed. Nothing interesting planned. Sweetie is gonna go visit his parents and I’m gonna stay home and work on homework.
<sobs into hanky and waves at the crowd… far below…>
Heh.
Hello, all. Many happy returns of the day, Spaz. I wandered over to see just what was happening with the old gang. Oh, don’t think I read the whole MMP! Why would I ever change?
Lisslar–is this kid #2 or 3? And did I see something about twins? Whichever, whatever, I’m sorry to hear you’re that many months pregnant. When I am Queen, pregnancies will only last 6 months by edict. I hated the last month of all my pregnancies–and they hated me.
**BooFae! **–my British alter ego. How goes it? Still herding kittens at the uni?
Anyrose–use your mad editing skillz to get us a sticky to be proud of.
GT: is your garden as full of snow as mine? I’m loving it, but today it’s supposed to get up to 38 and maybe rain. WTH?
Swampy-still in GA? Still cooking up a storm for the Episcopalians?
janis-Clearly you will be first on the wall once the Revolution starts. (just kidding)
I can’t promise to stick around-I have cookies to bake and some work to do, but it’s nice to be here, if only for a visit. I’m not saying hi to the peeps I see everyday over at Giraffe. You know who you are.
We ended up going to a friend’s house last night to finish watching Season 6 of Dexter. Ooooh, what an ending! I love that show, but am too cheap to pay for premium cable channels. The cable company gets way too much money from me anyway.
We had a good time and the dogs had a great time. One of my friends’ dogs seems to be in luuuuurve with Polar. She followed him everywhere and would lie down next to him every time he would lie down. It was really cute, actually. Polar took it all very well. Brandi was a little jealous.
Now that I finally have power, I am lacking coffee! No fair! I’ve used up every last bean in the house.
Happy birfday Spaz! I hope you get lots of cake and presents and neat stuff on your special day.
Deheathenized, Zumba-ed, lunched. laundried, and off to clean Bob teh Wonder Pony’s stall. He’s kinda gimpy from his arthritis so he gets a day of rest. Which is all his days. He’s got a good life.
Da cave is almost defilthyfied. Need to finish cleanin’ the kitchen and mop the kitchen and bathrooms and it’s all done. I needed a break though cause I was feelin’ all faint and fatigued and I am a delicate flower after all.
Rigs I’m still in south Jawja and cookin’ away 'cept not much this past week due to a stoopid haid cold. My last big Whiskypalian feed was when one other person and I made bbq, baked beans, slaw and mac ‘n cheese for the masses at the end of October. We are, however lookin’ at a couple of Friday fish ‘n chips durin’ Lent.
Ok, Ima go snoop teh intartoobz a few minutes and then get back to cave defilthyfyin’.
Well, Go Me! I have completed the defilthyfyin’ of da cave. I’s tahrd! I may need to sit in the whirlpool bath tub whilst sippin’ on a glass of wine to revive myself. Or I could go to OYKW’s place for a bit. Decisions. Decisions.
Boofae the feed wasn’t enough to convince me to be a non-heathen but it was still good.
Swampy there was two types of enchildas, chicken pot pie, fried chicken, pot roast, ham, broccoli casserole, mac & cheese and a bunch of other things. Plus desers…brownies, nanner puddin, earthquake cake, bread pudding, coconut cake, chocolate cake etc etc etc…they did good those church ladies!
Today mr ems and I made lunch which was poke chops, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon, cauliflower cheese and squash casserole. The family then went and took naps and mr ems and I have been sat out on the front porch in the 75 degree sunshine reading and talking. Good day.
Aw, all the birfday wishes make me blush. I had a good day out with Culinary Boy. We had Chinese buffet for lunch because it’s free on your birthday and then we went to the WNC Nature Center because I wanted to meet Nibbles the Groundhog. We couldn’t find Nibbles. We asked three people and finally narrowed it down. Turns out she was sleeping in her little mini-dogloo. Oh well, Culinary Boy wanted to see the black bears but it’s hibernatin’ time. We’ll go back in the spring.
I’m feelin’ sniffly again. Thus I shall drug myself with night time cold stuff, go lie upon the bed and watch teevee 'til it kicks in. Never fear though. The new MMP is ready and will be up by six a.m. eastern Amurrkin time tomorrow.
