And how would you likeyour eggs?

[“Michael”]

Over easy would be just fine.

Over easy!!

[/Michael"]

In a Spanish omelette, or Fritata Italiana.

Oooh, I like the Over-Easy runny yolks, too.
Yummy! With toast to sop up all the runny yolk!

Or in an omelet with ham and cheese.
Or scrambled, but not cooked dry. With limp bacon on the side. And hashbrowns.
Or deviled.
Or as egg salad.

I love eggs.

What is ‘over easy’? I’ve heard of it but don’t know what it refers to.

I would like them soft boiled, with hot buttered toast, please. Darn, I’m hungry now.

So, Ayesha, you like it “over easy”…?

[sub]So if I brought home the bacon and fried it up in a pan, would you never ever let me forget I’m a man?[/sub]

pleasant if possible, but failing that, I would like them to at the very least not be mean to me.

Over medium, or an omelette.

Basted
failing that, what AHunter3 said.

Scrambled hard. Or dry. Or however one wants to put it, just get those puppies cooked very well. I’m leery of ordering eggs in restaurants because they’re rarely cooked as much as I’d like. It gets old sending them back.

And you can be damn sure the wet runny scrambled eggs found on buffets are the last thing I’d eat.

I have no idea what eggs overeasy are, GuanaLad. I was wondering the same thing when I saw that scene of the movie.

Overeasy eggs = eggs fried, flipped once, yolk still runny, hopefully not broken.

Okay.

(Ever notice ‘large’ eggs aren’t? I usually buy ‘extra’ large which ensures at least a medium-to-large egg)

Okay.

Cast iron skillet with boiling water (skillet only does poaching duty, ancient griswold #669 perfectly suited for this purpose) remove from heat.

Roman Meal wheat toast is then deposited into toaster after eggs have been installed in barely simmering water.

Completed toast is then generously buttered (I trust cows more than I do chemists, not to mention the flavor is much superior and required) and the eggs scooped out with one of those big holey spoons. A definite runniness of the yolk is desirable for maximum flavor. A couple sprinkles of salt on the eggs, and a glass of milk or orange juice is excellent.

Bacon, ham, cheese, hash-browns, potatos o’brien, jellied toast and pancakes (not all at once, usually) go together well.

Maybe later we can all explain how to make our best omelets…

Please excuse my ignorance, but i’m worried that i may be missing something. W

hat are green eggs? Are people just making humorous references to Dr. Seuss, or is this some American delicacy that i have yet to come across?

If scrambled eggs are seriously overcooked and at too high a temperature, they will turn green.

Reading all this about eggs made me hungry, so I decided on an egg sandwich- quick, easy and ‘hits the spot’

For this, I scrambled one (1) egg with a splash of milk and a little Dill seed in a microwavable soup cup.

While the egg is nuking, the English Muffins are browning in the toaster, a little mayo and sharp cheddar out of the fridge goes on the buttered muffins. Yumm.

When i saw you were on this string, i knew you’d come up with the goods. And you mean to tell me that people actually like their eggs done this way?

I like my eggs McMuffined with sausage for 99 cents. Speaking of 99, I think this must be my 999th post.

Quickly! You must flip your monitor or the Great One may deem you unsuitable for demonic possession!

Two fried eggs with the yoke broken and two pieces of very light toast.

Sunny side up with the whites still runny.

I know, it make everyone in my family sick too. Of course that means I have to cook them myself.

Over easy (yolks soft and unbroken, but whites cooked) with buttered wheat toast (real butter, not margerine), ham or sausage and bacon. And orange juice.

Either that, or scrambled with tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and green pepper.
