Christmas was good. We got my Dad a laptop for Christmas which has been entertaining. I have loved being home with my family which to me is what Christmas is about as we are not a religious family in anyway.
But I do miss Mr ems-to-be. We will be getting married in Vegas in April it is official anyone wanna come to the Bachelorette party??
I plum fergot to mention something this morning that could only be mentioned (and maybe understood) in the MMP.
I burned out my squid, and I have to get a new one today.
I have (had) in The NerdMobile a 2-way power outlet for the cigarette lighter (AKA The Squid) so I can recharge my cell phone while my nifty Fireman’s dashlight is in operation. Actually, I don’t do that very often, but the light is barely plugged in constantly so I can turn it on with a light squeeze. Plugging anything directly into the lighter is a PITA.
I’ve previously lamented the lack of heat in the NerdMobile because the heater core is plugged, and it will cost me more $$$$ than the beast is work to replace it. This weekend, I bought an electric defroster to keep the windshield from fogging over and maybe provide some comfort heat.
So, when I took off to the call for the granny who got too excited watching Tim Allen, I plugged in the heater and my light. About halfway to the station, both go out. :eek: :smack: :mad: I first thought it was the fuse for the lighter socket, but the light worked when I put it in the van. I took apart my squid last night, and the wires were burned.

I just got home from a day of touring waaaay too much of back country Ohio. We had a nice time and we actually ended up eating at two of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, at each place I had the worst food that I’ve ever eaten there. Which, as it turns out TMI ALERT didn’t really matter because everything that I’ve eaten has sped through and come back out within about an hour of having eaten it. :dubious:
So, anyways, I’m just going to sit here and relax for awhile. Later when I’m not so lazy I’ll post a picture of my nifty Christmas present from PieDad.
Man, baby Swampbear - that’s a big three month old, and lookit all that hair!!! They are really cute pics, Swampy and thanks for sharing em with us. 
It’s nice to have a really short week sometimes. There aren’t very many in my office this week, so it’s been nice and quiet, and I’m actually getting quite a bit done (the stuff that takes a lot of time to do and needs to be done without interruption!). We’re having gasp leftovers for dinner tonight, at least there’s a choice of leftovers.

Well, yesterday’s Christmas dinner turned out absolutely scrumptious. We have tons of leftovers too, so we’ll be having them for dinner tonight, and probably tomorrow night. Plus, I need to make the stock from the bones of the prime rib roast.
Swampy, you were one cute kid.
Bobbio, hugs to you just for general purposes. Do you feel better now?
Boy, oh boy, EVERYBODY at work was a total grump today, and I mean EVERYBODY. I just quit talking to anyone because it wasn’t worth the effort. I mean, no one wanted to be at work, but hell, if someone says hello, at least have the courtesy to return the greeting.
I think I’ll cruise the Dope for just a short bit.

I’m stressed because I just figured out that I need to be packed and ready to go by tomorrow night. (I’m off to celebrate New Year’s with Far-Away Best Friend and her family from Friday morning until Sunday the 6th. OK, we won’t be celebrating the whole time, but I’ll be away from home and probably won’t get to the boards much - maybe not at all :eek: )
By the way, LiLi - tinyninjachef is not allowed to arrive until I’m back. I wanna know right away when he’s downloaded.
FABF left me a voicemail this afternoon asking me to confirm when I’m getting there. She sounded pretty stressed herself. Her mom is visiting and I’m guessing it might not be going well (an unfortunate probability).
I’d been waiting to get books for her kids - I was hoping they’d give me a couple of lists. She said the only book her son is interested in hasn’t been published yet, so anything that’s fantasy will do. So I’m going with Naomi Novik for the godson and Robin McKinley for the goddaughter. I’m taking extras so that there will be some for the next birthdays too.
Well, I need to go start thinking about packing and then it’s off to bed. I’m going in to work extra early and will stop in briefly tomorrow.

I have a headache as well. I think I got it from reading craigslist postings. I got so bored I started to read the w4m … well, it was all very amusing. And depressing. Don’t people know how to spell anymore? And use punctuation? Apparently not.
I had lunch with my godparents and their kids and we talked about why all of us are single and none of us have ever been in a long-term relationship. Seriously. Why? We’re all educated, brought up to use our silverware properly and not burp at the table, have a decent sense of humor, make fairly amusing conversation, and not ugly, in my ever so humble opinion. And all of us have have ended up dating people that are either crazy or really bad for us. :smack: Tragic, I tell you.
You know what I really want right now? More than a boyfriend? A girlfriend. Cloud Maiden is the only girlfriend I have right now in Chicago. If she ends up getting a job in NYC I don’t know what I’m going to do. Sigh.
