And the Oscar Goes To....MMP

YAY! rigs made the first puke reference of the week. My work here is done.

And I’d like to thank swampy for acting as the splashguard for rigs’s little upchucky moment…

Feel better, rigs. And tell that Augmentin to leave your GI tract in peace!

GT

I love all of you for all your warmth, angst, and puke.
Quit, rigs! Do it now!

I want it to be Friday, to. That would mean I’d already done all my housework, and Intellectual Husband would be here! I’m tired and Fingersmith is good so far. I might leave all my housework for tomorrow. I’m tired.

Girl Scout cookies are here - Yay!
(Yes, I know they’re overpriced, and I know they aren’t as good as they usta be, i don’t care. Leave me alone!)

My stomach hurts! - Boo!

The two are not related. My stomach hurt before I ate the cookies.
I think it may be the Allopurinol, (Gout medication) that’s hurting my stomach. I broke down and went on it a few days ago 'cause I’ve had a pretty much unbroken chain of gout attacks since I went on the heart meds. All the docs can say is “They shouldn’t be causing it.” At this point I don’t care what’s causing it, I just want it to stop. It’s helping already.

We watched most of the awards show. There wasn’t anything else on, and I didn’t feel like messing with any of my projects/hobbies. It was over at 8:30 here, anyway. Then we watched HGTV, which was just as exciting. (And had a better sound track).

Oh, and the Academy would like to recognize Lissla’s contributions to the institution of matrimony.

what? you left out the beer this time?

Dorothy - what show are you doing?

ack! ack!  my PDA crashed! and it won’t sync!! I’ve lost my calendar, but more importantly, I’ve lost my Sudoku games! (I’d set up about 30 games to play while in waiting rooms.) I knew I was going to replace the fargin’ thing - it’s 2 and a half years old, and was an “older” model when I bought it (I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it.) But I was hoping it would last a few more months until I did.! Waaah!!! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

I’m not dead GT my sweet pea, I’m merely pinin’! Actually I’m just stuck with a work security filter from hell and a dodgy home computer. I mean I composed this uber-perfect post and then my 'puter froze up. Kinda like the concrete in nekkid Swampy’s hot tub that we’ll never really know about now that it got eaten. If you got to Tucson say hello to my family, okay?

So highlights from the post that never will be-- nekkidness, FoodTv, my new car Luck Heart, licence plates with no fours in them, matching keychains, possible obsession, tattoos. Now to click before this one dies unposted.

Super yummy enchilada casserole recipe–

12 corn tortillas fried in oil
big can of enchilada sauce
bag of fiesta frozen veggies (corn, onion, tomato, black beans)
shredded chicken
shredded cheese

dip tortillas in sauce, place in casserole pan (9x13? sounds about right). throw in some chicken, veggies, cheese and mebbee some more sauce. dip the rest of the tortillas, toss 'em in the pan. Add the rest of the ingredients, ending with gobs of nummy cheese probably. Put it all in the oven at 375 or so until it’s hot and bubbly. Try not to burn your mouth on the cheese because it’s so delicious you’ve been turned into a gobble monster.

[sub]erm the post was eaten, not Swampy <snerk>, go to Tucson and Lucky Heart. sheesh[/sub]

Best performance as a Sheep-Shagger: Hal Briston’s Cow-orker

I should’ve remembered this earlier; this week, every day has a Fish of the Day. So, as you wipe the scales off your eyes and get ready to start another hip and happenin’ Tuesday, here’s a double dose of the fishy goodness:

OK-I"m a nurse and I don’t squik out easily, but this whole both eyes on the one side of the head thing just sends me. NO wonder we eat these things mercilessly–they don’t deserve to live…<shudders>

My head is no longer pounding–so that’s a plus. I am dressed! How about that? In clothes and everything. Tomorrow, I might go to the store! Oh, happy day!

anyroad, er rose --sorry to hear about your PDA. I have one of those–it’s in a drawer. I was too intimidated by it to actually use it!

This morning I woke up with a fever blister. Wah.

Then I couldn’t quite make my hair do what the hairdresser did. Whine.

Then the guy at the Dunkin Donuts drive through dropped my dollar and I was just so annoyed that it went under the car that I went ahead and gave him another one. Mutter.

The first e-mail I opened when I got to work was somebody very unhappy and yelling at me. Grumble.

And I’m getting a stupid cold because my roommate’s home with the Black Plague. Cry.

Today already sucks. :frowning: I have a migrant haddock.

Today is turning out to be a good day. Got to work, and the whole base was dark; some kind of power failure that started there, but whe the CG folk tried switching to backup generators, they took out part of Portsmouth, too.

So, I get a work at home day.

Y’all have fun imagining me sitting at my PC, nekkid…

Quick, Drae. Go buy yourself some Vitamin C and OD on it. You might prevent the cold from taking over. Works for me, anyway.

Rifty, groan! Migrant haddock? You get the Oscar for Worst Punmanship!

My PDA crashed about 1-1/2 years ago. I don’t miss it.

Rigs - that really sucks about your boss. I’d tell 'em to stick it, personally.

I’m still feeling pretty good! Yay for me!

I had a nice little surprise this morning. I ran into my son at the convenience store. He was getting change to do laundry. My little boy is all grown up! He lives 5 minutes from me, and I never see him. He never calls. He ran out of minutes on his cell. I guess he forgets about pay phones. He said he’d call me later this week - I told him since I saw him he’s good for a couple of weeks. Now I won’t worry.

Ah, I wondered why I can’t get in touch with anyone over there.

No. I don’t think that I will.

Welcome back, ems and Ashes[SUP]2[/SUP].

My stomach hurts today. It’s probably those damn anti-biotics from last week’s surgery.

Whoo! You like me, you really like me! :: dances :: Drae, hope you feel better soon, and rigs, glad you’re finally recuperating.

Rebo, your son better have a 90 hour per week job or summat, because otherwise to never stop by and see you is just wrong. My mother would never allow me to do that.

My day’s off to a grand start. I almost stepped in cat puke this morning. Which I then had to clean up which made me late for work. Bleh.

Oh well. Good luck sorting out the job crap, rigs. Hope you feel better too. And **Drae **too. And everyone else who’s sick or having job problems. Boy, we’re not doing too well around here, are we?

My day is off to a smashing start. I get to do laundry, scrub the kitchen, tidy my desk… days off are so much fun!

After a few cups of tea maybe I’ll be ready. I feel a strange compulsion to go downtown and buy duck fat. I think it was because I was reading The Best Recipes In The World yesterday and there was a recipe for duck confit. I like duck fat, but I don’t understand why I feel I need some today.

I have decided to track the progression of this cold for scientific purposes. No need to thank me.

Day One, 7:35 a.m.–Discovery of burgeoning fever blister in traditional fever blister spot, right side of lower lip.

9:49 a.m.–Beginning of sniffles. Some sneezing reported.

10:22 a.m.–Increasing pressure in sinus area. Headache confined to forehead region. Eyeballs feeling slightly tender, but not yet painful to look around. (I don’t know if that happens to everyone, but when I get a good siunus thing goin’ on, my frickin’ eyeballs hurt.)

10:31 a.m.–Serious thought given to whether my throat hurts or if I’m just being paranoid. Decide in favor of paranoia, move on with day.

Updates as they occur.

Ack! To crashes, and tummyaches, and bosses that are pains.

Is it Friday yet?

Didn’t the weekend sweep by in a blur? How can it be Tuesday morning already? I did not want to get up and go to the office today. Or yesterday. It’s a long, long stretch from New Year’s Day to Good Friday (first stat for us in BC) this year. I booked two days off in mid-March–soon–just because, damn it, a holiday is needed. Now. So I have a four-day weekend to look forward to.

My legs and rear end still hurt from playing in the yard on Saturday. Who knew gardening (or playing in the rocks and dirt) could be so taxing?

I could not find a good, intriguing new vegetable at the grocery store on Saturday, so I have no New Vegetable to try this week.

Halibut is one ugly fish. I have halibut earrings (two kinds) and a halibut pin. I should wear one of my halibut to work today! Mm… halibut. Ugly fish, but oh, so very tasty. The TV guide that comes in our newspaper has an article on cooking halibut this week. I mean to pull the article out when the week’s over, and put it in my collection of recipes I am going to try “some day”. Mm…. halibut.

Duck fat? Never bought that. I am intrigued by your grocery lists.

Is it Friday yet?
