And the Oscar Goes To....MMP

Still no water.

The jacket is loose, and based off an extant 1735 one from Patterns of Fashion. I am undecided about facing. Grey? Teal? Burgundy? I’m waiting for Mr. Lissar to come home and make a decision. It’s sort of loosely based off of his tai chi jacket, too.

what am I, chopped liver?

listen - I’ll have lunch with any/all of youse, provided we’re in the same neighborhood. I’ve been quiet today because I’ve spent the day on the heating pad - I wrenched my back while getting dressed this morning. OW. It’s better now - but all I did today was sleep and watch ST:TNG reruns

The doctor has confirmed my personal bronchitis diagnosis. I’m going to bed now. I’m even going to save Amazing Race for tomorrow. You know I must be sick.

Rifty, I got your email, but I can’t think right now, so I’ll get back atcha tomorrow. Mika, Faire opens August 5th!

Aw…GT and spats --thanks! Now we just have to find a way past that pesky time/space continuum and Bob’s your uncle!

Band concert was long and ok. Personally, I think they always try too ambitious of stuff. Stick with G&S, I say. Stop trying to do Copland!
I made the dough for Nutella cookies–I think a new obsession has been born tonoc in this house. I am very tired and so to bath and TDS and bed for me.

Last one home, turn the light off and lock the doors, kay?

Nutella cookies??? I’ve cleared my CD drive!!!

Okay, two things. No, three, but one’s only semirelated. First, you win for watching TNG. Second, you can and should join Drae and I for lunch. My bad for half-assuming you were far enough away to make the drive inconvenient. Obviously it isn’t since you and Drae just had lunch.

In other news, I can’t brain today - I have the dumb.
And the third and final item, if I’m at all in the area, I’m totally going to the RenFaire with y’all.

whew!! in the not-quite-immortal-but-won’t-die-for-a-while-at-least words of my boss, I am too much busy!!

Auditions tomorrow! the show is Sweet Charity. I’m excited. I like Sweet Charity. It’s not a big dance show (or at least, it doesn’t have any big dancer parts) but it’s fun anyway.

rigs are these secret recipe nutella cookies? if not, would you mind sharing?

Break a leg, Dorothy. My favorite number from that show is Rhythm Of Life. It has one of the highest play counts on my iTunes.

Spats - we had lunch because I was spending the weekend in Drae’s neck of the woods. But if I can get to you easily on the other side of the Outerbridge (I hate going over the GWB) you’re on.

Our water was off today. Luckily, not before we’d showered before work. However, unluckily, my husband just ran it, many hours after it was back on, and the cold’s all… Milky. Very disconcerting, and I’m not certain I want to make tea with that in the morning.

Luckily, we have a big bucket of water from yesterday, when the water was also turned off, but it came back on, so I put a bucket o’ water aside, justincase.

Drinking two diet vanilla cokes after work has made me a little bit hyper.

My desktop computer is getting louder and louder. Anyone want to bet what its problem is? Bearing going? Fan going? Hard drive going? I’ve had it since January 2002.

I think something bad is going to happen to it, so I’m burning CDs nightly, taking all my “stuff” off it. However, there is still the email to do, and since I’m on some discussion/groups/lists/whatever, I’ve got like 3000 emails in just one program alone to read/delete/save. Never mind what’s in the Thunderbird, before I switched to Outlook, when Thunderbird went wonky, and then there’s Outlook Express, which probably has…

I’m feeling dizzy.

Someone please kick my butt for eating seven-layer-dip and corn chips whilst watching American Idol. (I wish I were Katharine McPhee, oh, in the worst way.) I feel guilty for watching American Idol and not Canadian Idol, but I can’t stand Ben Mulroney. What’s with the annoying male hosts? If you Yanks think Seacrest is annoying, let me package and ship down to you one Ben Mulroney, free of charge.

I’d be firmly on the NJ side of the GWB, in Bergen County, but if you’re heading from the vicinity of the Outerbridge, going up to the GWB would be way out of your way. You could cross there and simply head Northeast a bit. Drae and I don’t know where we’re eating yet either, so that’ll also have an influence on the directions.

OR - you could both come to ‘the Island’… (and you deal with the traffic  )

Looks like I’m the first one awake today. Happy Hump Day. That’s it - I’m off to work now

Damn. They got the power back on, and I had to go to work today. I was ever so hopeful… :frowning:

I went to the Y this morning, and get this, I ran a mile. Not all at once, though. Thirty laps on the indoor track is 2 miles, and I ran the odd numbered laps. Kicked my butt, too, but I’ll do it again and keep at it until I’m running all of those 30 laps.

I also heard from a locker room buddy that I’m getting noticed for the amount of weight that I’ve lost.

Morning everybody. Not much to report here, still feeling ok. (Yay!)

Gonna be busy, so just a quick drive-by…

You rock, bobbio! Ain’t it a grand feeling? I’ve got to figure out something for after work that I can do relatively quickly to burn some more calories. Now, now, not that kinda exercise! :dubious: My one workout a day is just not cutting it. I’m at a dead standstill in the weight losing department and I’m not going to cut any more calories when I’m already pretty strict at 1,500 per day. More exercise! Yeah! Something that will work upper body would be good.

Mika, I’d love a Mocha Java, if it’s not too late.

swampy, still mellow? Get all packed?

That’s all I got for now.

Tupug

Mika I was underwhelmed by Contact, too–I’ll have to mosey on over to CS and read your thread.

I MUST have the Nutella cookie recipe. Gimme gimmee gimmee! Wait. On second thought, DON’T give me the recipe. My fat thighs BEG you not to. But MAN they sound good!

You nurse-type people: please tell me what’s wrong with my knee. It is swollen slightly and I can’t bend it all the way. Why? I have no idea in hell. I didn’t injure it. My dear husband says (12 years my senior) says It’s All Part of Getting Old. Ya do something to your knee that at age, say 39 didn’t faze it and do it today, at 42 and BOOM you’re a gimp. It’s highly annoying. I may not be a spring chicken any more, but I’ve got spring chicken tasks I’ve got to do … like hop from the back of the van to the front, buckling in babies, like run up and down the stairs doing 12.4 million loads of laundry every week, etc., etc. I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR INJURIES, especially ones that occur spontaneously with no help from me.

bobbio – Yippee for you on the weight loss-noticin.’ Isn’t that just wonderfully gratifying? I’m sure you feel so much better, too!

Swampy, I for one am impressed with your Carter Administration Gubernatorial peeing. I have never peed in our Governor’s Mansion, though I have used the facilities in many a government installation, having been a reporter in a previous life. You haven’t lived until you’ve covered a 4-hour Public Service Commission meeting and then had to make a mad dash for the um, facilities.

Since lil Mr. Baby Cherry was under the weather this weekend, our anniversary wasn’t quite as merry as it might of been. That is, we only went to a movie, rather than dinner and a movie. However, the dinner hasn’t gone away, I have been assured, and I will be treated to a Dinner Out at a point in the future. Yay.

I personally am not sick but most of the people I work with are either sick or injured! My boss had a car wreck Monday (she’s OK), a coworker has a herniated disk and another has been suffering with a migrane for like, a month! Ack.

Haaaaapy Wednesday!

Oooh, I’ve peed in the governor’s mansion too. Well, the NY one, not the GA one like swampy. I was there for an alumni event. Didn’t see the governor. However, at a different event (not at the mansion), I shook hands with the governor. If he does run for president, I’ll be able to say I shook hands with a presidential candidate. That’d be sorta cool if underwhelming.

One of my coworkers is out at a conference for the rest of the week so I’m covering her job as well as mine. Usually this is a good thing as it means I’m busy, but already today 2 documents have gone missing (well, people didn’t make copies of them and now the originals have been mailed somewhere or other) and I’m supposed to know where to find them. ::sigh::

the good news - the server has been fixed and we may now save stuff to the common drive where it belongs
the bad news - all the work we saved to our personal drives has to be moved over and updated - tedious, laborious, yucky, duplicate work - all the while making sure that we don’t overwrite something that was already completed

I decided to go shopping tonight for a new PDA (if I have the energy - otherwise I’ll do it on line - it’s just that in person, I can play with the display models and see which one I like best) But if my back continues to feel the way it does now, it’s straight home to bed and heating pad.

**Ellen ** - I’m not a medical professional, but I play one on TV - I sympathize with your knee pain, and getting an online opinion is a good starting point, and it could be nothing. But since it could be caused by any number of things, go see your own doc, or line up a rheumotologist or orthopedist, because it could be the start of something you’re going to have to deal with for the long term.
