I see an early bedtime. MWAH!!!
After the 9½ hour class today, I became Auntie (Unkle?) Social & didn’t go to dinner with any of the various groups because I realized if I came right home, I’d be able to go to the gym for a bit. I hate, hate, hate the treadmill, in fact it was the first time on it this year, but with the temps in the 20°s & wind chills in the teens° it was prolly the right call. Now I need to forage in the freezer for something to nukealate (since I wasn’t supposed to be home for din-din tonight); then I get to watch some of the three VCR tapes that were given to me today. Nobody’s sure 'zactly what’s on 'em anymore or even the quality of 'em; however, if there’s good stuff of sufficient quality, it will converted to a DVD for a presentation that we’re going to do. Fuuuunnn.
It’s been a busy day! The towels and sheets are still in the clothes basket waiting to get folded. I left as soon as they came out of the dryer.
I got almost all of the dreaded clothes shopping done. Was anyone aware that brick and morter stores don’t sell women’s jeans in 100% cotton? The third time a sales clerk gave me regulations as an excuse, I asked why I could order them from Lands End or go to a men’s clothing store and get them. She just shrugged.
I got three long sleeved V neck tees on clearance, two polo-ish shirts, four bras, two pair of sneakers. I swung through the Goodwill store and found two pair of cotton jeans in my size and wound up at Walgreens for a pair of flannel pajama pants. I’ll hit Lands End tomorrow for two more polo-ish shirts.
No way! Clearly it was on porpoise. :smack:
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 73 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today we shall deheathenate with the Luteruns, wherein I shall be a non-cannibal lector, and hang on to do The Great Litany (click on The Great Litany link on the left if’n you want to see what I’m talkin’ about) with the Whiskypalians because ‘tis the first Sunday in Lent and that’s what we do. We shall leave after The Great Litany however, as the rest of everything we will have already done. N.O.L. shall happen somewhere, probably grab a burger, and dindin shall be ribeye steaks, friggin’ good N.O.T., asparagus, and garlic cheese bizkits. Today is also brunch Sunday but as I had no desire to make anything we shall not participate.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Up, dog walked and sinus attack in full swing. Come on allergy pill. Work.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today. I’ll do some laundry and go get a couch after brunch.
Happy Sunday!
The sun is shining, but it’s a cold 19 degrees outside.
Nothing special for today, just irk and house irk.
I have no idea what we are having for lunch and dinner. I have a pack of ground beef that has been thawed in the fridge, but I have no idea what to do with it. Maybe beast loaf, maybe chili, maybe spaghetti, none of that sounds too appealing.
I’d rather have ham or chicken, but I am out of them. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and is grocery shopping day. I don’t want ham or chicken badly enough to go out in 19 degree weather to get it. So ground beef it is.
Tomorrow starts spring break, so I told Sah-son be prepared, I have lots of work for him to do. I think he’d rather do school work.
I finally caught up on my sleep. Samantha loved that because it meant she got to lay on every single part of me. How does a 9 lb. cat take up so much space on a bed? Goal this week is go to bed at a reasonable hour on irk nights.
Where’s Mmmmooooooommm today?
Howdy Y’all! Home from Luterun flavored deheathenization. We decided not to stay for The Great Litany due to the fact we’re both kinda sinusy. So we’re at da cave and all comfy. I foresee a nap with Ben shortly. ICK!
Lazy morning to all y’all. Watched some morning TV (The Sports Reporters and English Soccer) and had a small meal to break fast, so now waiting to dress for my 1PM indoor refereeing stint, whereupon I will return home to refresh and relax and prepare for dining out (Longhorn Steak day!). May then do a couple loads of laundry for the evening’s entertainment.
Wild and crazy life, ain’t it?
I got the dog out for a nice walk this afternoon, and I think we’re both tired out. I walked a neighborhood I had not been through before, which was nice. It was so nice and warm out that I could have done it in shorts and sandals, but the shorts are still all packed up with the summer clothing. I’m not digging through all that stuff.
The rest of the evening shall be dedicated to deleting music on my phone that I no longer want, and perhaps adding some new stuff. It’s great having Sunday off while everyone else has a regular workday on Sunday.
Yoiks! I forgot to post! I’ve been up since 6:30, but I guess I got distracted by FB. No worries - I’m fine. We’re just back from breakfast and Lowe’s and filling the car. It’s sunny, it’s cold, and life is good. ![]()
**sari **- shopping in cold weather is yet another reason for you to compel your offspring to get a license. Just sayin’… ![]()
For some reason there is a replica Oscar sitting on the kitchen table downstairs.

I can lead him to the car but I can’t make him drive.
I wish he would, I worry about him. If I drop dead tomorrow, he is not ready to be on his own.
You could try not driving him places. Introduce him to the fun that is public transportation. I had to take the bus all over LA when I was a teenager. I was more than ready to drive when it came time. Some of those folks are nuts. Some of them are scary. Most of them are just fine. Right now he has no reason to learn to drive.
Either that or sign him up for a drivers’ ed class and take him to it. Walk him into the class and leave him there. Make sure he takes it.
Or both.
Headachy day and stuff to do. Blurf.
Long talk with Beloved Brother. The short version is he thinks/plans to force mother to move down with him. He hopes I may get a 24 hour window to get anything from Dad’s place that I may want. The reality is that nothing more than fighting between them may result and I’ll probably get frozen out of the whole deal.
I ain’t complaining; I knew within days of Dad’s passing 16 years back that I was outside and was better off staying there and not fighting it. But ----------- I never was good at blindly following orders; or common sense for that matter. Needless to say, the next month could be real interesting.
So much for much of a happy birthday this year. But it isn’t like it hasn’t happened before to almost everyone in the Universe at one time or another. We’ll manage.
There is no public transportation here.
He already took drivers ed,
He just doesn’t want to drive.
I don’t know if it is the shyness, or if I did something to him that he doesn’t feel confident, or he just doesn’t care.
If he really wants to go somewhere there are a lot of places within walking distance from here. The thing is, he never wants to go anywhere.
Wifey has decided that her sinus problems are the result of the air quality in the house.
She has ordered an air purifier from Amazon, and I just cleaned the air filters in the furnace. (Actually I replaced them with some paper ones to see how those work, but I cleaned the reusable plastic ones too.) I only cut myself once sticking them up in there, so I call that a success. (Our furnace was very poorly designed and has sharp metal bits all up inside it.) I’ve told her multiple times that I think our indoor air quality is largely the result of the 30+ year old shag carpet in the living room that I have hated since we bought this house in '89. I think she’s coming around, slowly.
Now she’s off with the girl child getting their toes done.
We had a skettie-like substance for dinner last night. We reached into the freezer and pulled out something that turned out to be a pound of hamburger, and for some reason Wifey got a jar of sausage pasta sauce out of the pantry, so we had meat lovers skettie except with rotini instead of spaghetti. When she picks the ingredients, I just cook 'em. I don’t ask questions. We’re going to the kids house for dinner tonight for Wifey’s Birthday. That’ll be nice.
I had this old display table with a slanted top sitting in my garage taking up space. I had built it to display hand made soap when I had the store . So I put a ‘free to a good home’ ad on Craigslist so’s someone who could use it would come get it. otherwise I was gonna have to take it apart and put the parts up until I found some use for them. Anyway, I got four emails from people supposedly wanting it. The first one was effusive and had a phone number for me to call. I called the number (I know, I know) and nobody answered and then there was a message that ‘this person hasn’t set up their voicemail yet’. Between that and the weird phone number I’m thinking it was a burner phone. The second person seemed legit so I emailed back with craiglist’s email system. No answer. The third was another message with a phone number. I ignored that. The fourth person said she had a vegetable stand and wanted the table for display. She replied to my email and came this morning with some friends and a truck and took the table away. Whew!
Anyway, craigslist be weird.
I do tend to ramble don’t I? It comes with age I suppose.
