Or a wiener? :smack:
You say that as though it were a Bad Thing.
Dinner tonight is leftover pizza and a Nyquil caplet. Need to go to bed soon, so Mel was invited. Tomorrow is the tough day at work, when for reasons I have so far not been able to determine, we run on Eastern time, thus working 5am to 2pm Pacific (I’m in California). Especially rough on someone with my commute. Today, I was off at 6, home at 7. Will be getting up at 3.
3am was my household’s definition of a reasonable bedtime for quite some time when DH was working second shift.
Yes my daddy was a grouch.
Sorry about your car ding. I found one on my car today. $600 out of my broke pockets. Now, had I hit someone’s car anywhere I would call the cops, or hang around, or leave a note or go into the office where you prolly hit it and ask around. It is a felony not to report it in FL.
Nettie I’m with you. Staying up to 3 am seems a lot more reasonable than getting up at 3 am. By inclination, my entire family is night owls. The kids keep asking why school can’t start after noon, so they can stay up later and get up later. It would be nice. When I run the world, I tell you there will be changes.
You’ve got my vote. My family have strong owl tendencies, and I married an owl.
I am a night owl and always have been. It does not work for me re job.

After services this morning, I stopped in the grocery store for a bag of milk. There was one open register, which was tied up with an older woman and her full cart. The cashier finally finished ringing up the woman’s order, but the woman was still packing her bags, one item at a time. The cashier took me with her to the empty register next to her, rang me up there, and I was out in 30 seconds . . . all while the other customer was still packing her bags.
I realized (with some horror) that the woman, whom I thought of as older, was probably only a few years older than me. Pretty soon I’ll start to smell like an old man.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Happy Mardi Gras!!!
Have you ever shopped Land’s End for women’s polo shirts? I’ve gotten half a dozen from them and I love them all!! Great fabric, nice colors or patterns, comfy, launder well - love 'em!
I woke at midnight due to horrific itching on both legs. Dry skin - so I got up and slathered on some petroleum jelly. When I got back into bed, everything else started itching… OK, not everything but many more places, so I got up again to get some moisturizer. I think I finally fell back to sleep about 90 minutes later, so I’s exhausted today. Gonna be a long one.
**Bowser **- I stopped for a few groceries on my way home yesterday and ended up in line behind a woman who had more than 12 items in the 12-Item line, and who had to load all of her purchases into her cart *before *digging thru her purse to find her wallet and decide which card she’d use for the purchase, followed by figuring out which end the chip reader needed to read… And once she’d finished, she barely moved out of the way, not giving me any room to move my cart so I could load it *while my card was already in the reader!! Some people shouldn’t be allowed out and about without a keeper!

<deep cleansing breaths>
Happy Tuesday.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and waaaaaaaaaay foggy with a predicted high of 84 and mostly N.O.S. or partly cloudy dependin’ on how one looks at it I reckon. Not much goin’ on here today which is fine by me. I’ll probably do some laundry. This bein’ Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras, means that I shall be at the church house this evenin’ for the traditional pancake supper with bacon and snausage. Always a good time. I’ll head over there around four to get thing started.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I shall purtify and begin laundry. Rah.
Happy Mardi Gras!!!
Yes, I stole that from doggie.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
ETA: First on Two!
Spidey
Yeah, it’s Fat Tuesday!! (Not that it means much, I’m fat enough now). Happy Day anyway to my fellow Mumpers, since reading the comments it appears that Moanday was exactly that…(hope your cars and budgets recover promptly, butters and spidey.
Hello lieu and Bowser. Been close to a year since I joined this wonderful little place on the web. Stick around and chat awhile.
Mentioned (I think) last week that a couple of the jeans I had bought based on size did not fit. So went shopping yesterday to a couple of places, but none had my size, so I went online to Levi’s and ordered* exactly* the same type of jeans that fit me the best. We’ll see if that was a good investment or not.
Bank day and grocery shopping are on the agenda. Rain is 4cast, so may be dodging the drops. I usually rotate my shopping between Wal-Mart, Kroger, and Public, I think Wally’s place is up this time.
I’m awake and productive. Other than that not much is going on.
I’m awake! (Not productive.)
Happy Toosday!
I tried to post yesterday but my posts kept going poof and since I was already in a bad mood I didn’t need more aggravation.
It’s nice and N.O.S. today, and the temp seems to be nice as well. I’ve already put the dog out three times this morning.
I love my dog dearly, and I know his days are numbered, and I am so going to miss him when his time comes, but damn if I wouldn’t like to be able to get up in the middle of the night, do what I have to do, and go back to bed without hearing the click click click of his toenails behind me. I get up to eat, click, click, click. Put a load of clothes in the washer, click, click, click. Each time he wants to go out, maybe, maybe not, he doesn’t know, and then he wants to eat, and then he needs clean water, because he totally mucks up the water bowl every time he drinks. Of course this means the cat wakes up and now he wants attention, and treats. Gotta have his treats.
This morning I was sitting in the chair waiting for the dog to come back in and I got two paws worth of claws in my backside because the cat wanted attention.
The cat is being a little butt head this morning.
Now he is rampaging through the house, jumping on things, sliding across the floor, jumping at imaginary stuff on the walls. He sounds like a horse galloping up and down the hall.
I’m still stuffy with a sore throat and itchy ears. I would think the effect of all those air fresheners would have worn off by now.
I never watch awards shows. I wouldn’t watch a plumbers convention to see who gets the best pipe award, or watch a programmers convention to to see who writes the best code. Nobody is giving me an award for being the best damn customer service rep of the year. Watching a bunch of celebrities congratulating each other for basically doing their job?
I still have to call the cable company to see if I am under contract and what it will cost to have internet only. They have pissed me off again, first world problems I know. MPT is now all shows from Japan. They are dubbed in English, but really? The line up NHK Newsline, Science View, NHK Newsline, At home with Venetia, NHK Newsline, and eventually Lunch On!, which is a show about some small companies and what the owner’s wife fixes the employees for lunch. Exciting for sure!
Now they got rid of METV and replaced it with Charg which seems to be all paid programming and old movies, such as Come the Tigers, Diary of a Bachelor, Riot on Sunset Strip, Bwana Devil and, be still my heart, Revenge of the Gladiators.
I want my Mindless Entertainment TV back!
I used to date an Oscar. But I think I have mentioned that before.
Welcome **Bowser **
Are you going to stick around for a bit Lieu?
**Butters **and Spidey - sorry about your cars.
Happy Shopping Metal Mouse!
Lots to do today. I started early, but I feel a nap coming on since I didn’t get much sleep last night.
Just back from a loverly walk. It’s really pretty outside - ahead of the plunging temps later this week. I’ve got some leftover soup for lunch and a little time to surf before jumping back into the pile of drawings. Good times!
But did she stand there afterwords and read her entire receipt and then proceed to argue about something that she thought should have been 10 cents cheaper. Seriously? 10 cents! I am not making this up.
MetalMouse, you’ve only been here a year? Seems much longer.
Our older dog, Old Man Schnauzer, seems to be programmed to poop at 4 am. Don’t know why. It’s one of the reasons I have such weird insomnia. I go right to sleep, then wake up a few hours later, (when the acetaminophen wears off) and can’t go back to sleep.
Sahirnee, the Yorkie follows me everywhere, the Schnauzer basically sleeps all day, until he wants to eat or go out. We’re gonna miss him terribly some day soon also. ![]()
Howdy Y’all! I accomplished two loads of laundry and a trip over to the church house to get some stuff ready for tonight. The overhead rollin’ door thingy opened ON THE FIRST TRY!!!111 This has never happened before. I declared it a miracle to both Mother Galen and Deacon Joy. There was talk of a shrine but, really, there’s not much room to erect a fifty feet golden Altar in the kitchen so it was just talk.
Red A few women’s styles I wish would disappear from the face of the earth: sharkbite hems, cold shoulder, hi-low hems, marled and all the things you already mentioned.
Blurf END of the month. which means first of the month which means a marathon to pay vendors in two days. ain’t gonna happen. I called A/P lady and told her if i worked around the clock for 48 hours maybe i could do it. She said she knows KW is different and she just included me in the mail cause she had to.
I am doing battle with ATT. Hate that company. Hate em I do. Bunch of fraudsters and shysters.
