Well, the larder and the gas tank are now full, my pockets are a bit emptier, and I feel some nappage time coming on. Oh, and swampy, I now have sixty-five rolls of toilet paper (not counting the two currently in useful places), which I hope meets with your approval…
Bumba, I really don’t know how long I’ve been on the MMP, it probably has been longer than a year, but I don’t really know. Personal searches only go back 500 posts and that doesn’t get me out of 2017. Know that I enjoy the people here a lot (yes, that even includes flytrap and spidey.
It’s gotten cloudy outside, but since it’s 65 degrees I may go sit out front for a while.
One of the neighbors got a new - I don’t know what to call the damn thing - I can’t call it a motorcycle because it looks like a kid’s toy.
I guess when the newness wears off they will stop revving it up all the time, until then I’d like to shove the tailpipe up their ass, or down their throat, whatever it takes.
With any luck some dog will chase after it, catch it, and bury it in the back yard.
Bumba - I got treats for my dog called NeuTricks. They are made for senior dogs and have apoaequorin in them. It’s made a noticeable difference in my dog. I got them off Amazon. I’d like to get him to eat twice a day but he wants to eat small means throughout the day. It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t make such a mess.
Cat is pissed at me. Way back when I took him to the vet I thought he might have ear mites but the vet said his ears looked clean. I think he had them then, and I know he has them now so I got some OTC ear mite solution for him. He must have had them in the past because as soon as I pick up the bottle he runs. Usually I can only get to one ear at a time, but since you’re supposed to apply it every 2-3 days that is not a problem. Today I managed to catch the little brat, got a good grip, put drops both ears.
He was not amused.
I don’t know what I’m having for dinner. I’m making tacos for Sah-son. Well, I brown the ground beef and dump in the taco sauce. He takes over from there.
So the technology is changing rapidly and I personally don’t keep up with what is best. Some of the things I look for are (1) the highest video quality possible and (2) good at night. Though some folks say they don’t want audio I find it’s very helpful to yell out observations the camera might not pick up - license plates, traffic conditions, etc. The narration is helpful.
I see that major companies like Garmin are getting into the game. This is nice because they have a little more reputation to maintain than an unknown company from afar.
This said, when it’s time for me to buy a new camera (I have gone through many) I do a Google search and read all the reviews. My current (and best camera) is a Z-Edge 2K Dash Cam currently selling for $110 on Amazon. Excellent night video, better than HD daytime, etc.
These 2 videos shows my 2 camera system, the Z-Edge on the front and a Lukas pointed out the rear. The Z-Cam has better definition than the Lukas.
The older Lukas is more expensive (and older technology) but it works well and with a big card holds a couple days worth of video. The Z-Edge video files are LARGE and it only holds 4 hours on 32Gb before rewriting.
I have “follow me around” dogs. Completely nutso, can’t be alone dogs. Apparently when I’m gone on trips, the Newfie searches the house. He’ll go to the front door and wait. Then he’ll go upstairs and bark until someone lets him into a room and to look for me. Once he figures out I’m not in there, he’ll bark to get out. Then he’ll go somewhere else, and bark. If the two of them are left somewhere alone, when we go shopping, for example, it’s about 50-50 whether they’ll destroy something before we get back.
It’s a blurf day chez moi. Hugs, and hellos all around.
Well, if being around means “within 300 miles with a crop duster for close air support”, then yes.
Nappage achieved and dinner consumed. Rain has stopped (for today) so life is good. Dishwasher is working (one thing about being retired is that I seem to be doing dishes a lot more often and laundry a lot less).
Dinner is ready when the [del]buzzer[/del] smoke detector goes off, eh? :dubious:
I’m at my favorite sto & they have suits on ridiculous sale. Not my favorite two choices by this manufacturer, but should I get Pac or Jag?
Sahirnee, thanks for the info, I’ll look into the NeuTricks. We give him pills now for his arthritis and allergies and he takes them well.
I have to tell a story on the boys. A couple of months ago I was awakened in the night by the sound of crunching. By the time I got fully awake and got a flashlight it had stopped and the boys were acting innocent. Further investigation revealed that Wife had left a plate with some chicken bones on her chairside table and one of the boys had gotten them. We didn’t know which one, and they weren’t tellin. Apparently levitation is one their hidden talents. Anyway, we were advised to feed them bread and put rice in their dry food for a few days to bulk up their stools, which we did. You’d think they’d died and gone to doggie heaven! When it was time to eat (twice a day) the Schnauzer would dance around and practically do a ballet. The Yorkie would bark uncontrollably. This went on for a few days until the danger had ‘passed’, so to speak. When we stopped giving them rice you’d have thought their little worlds were ending. The upshot of all this is, nowadays we give the Schnauzer a couple teaspoons of rice and the Yorkie about a teaspoon with every meal.
Not much, but mealtimes do not drag out at all these days.
You might try that with your old guy.
Speaking of the Yorkie, we now think his problem might be tracheal collapse oresophageal stricture If it is there are a couple of operations they can perform to fix the trachea, but the success rate isn’t real good.
we’ll just have to keep a close eye on him.
That’s what walking from room to room naked with a plate of food all day will do for you.
Spidey, Storm Trooper!!! Or, if you must; Pac Man :dubious:
