And today's candidate for Mother of the Year is...

This irresponsible whore.

Let us hope she gets off with something rather more than the usual slap on the wrist - say, mandatory sterilization.

Y’know, I’m as much against the death penalty as anyone, but I’d be willing to make an exception in this case… :stuck_out_tongue:

Poor Baby. :frowning:

Poor Woman. :frowning:

Heartbreaking all around.

Oh good, another “Outrage del Dia” thread.

Yes, because mothers who murder their babies by poisoning them with Lysol are usually back on the street doing community service.

Give her what she wants. I would point out that nothing in the story establishes the mother is, in fact, a whore.

Yeah, what’s up with the recent glut of outrage of the day threads?

Is there some significance to the fact that it was ‘Lysol’?
I had never heard of this product before this thread.
Is this something that people carry around with them or have ‘conveniently’ around ?
Or is it the fact that the woman needed ‘psychiatric’ help?

Lysol is a brand name of a cleaning product, AFAIK, there’s nothing special about it otherwise.

Lysol is a brand name. It’s a household disinfectant commonly found in American homes.

The linked article is down. Did the baby die?

Here’s another link. Yes, the baby died. :frowning:

Thanks, Honey. Wow. How could she have possibly thought that would have been a good idea?

Lysol is mostly ethanol http://msds.reckittprofessional.com/customer_services/msds/dist/50709_e.pdf It is improperly used as an intoxicant, particularly by people who have difficulty in obtaining booze.

Some people improperly use intoxicants to quiet their babies.

Hey, the Camille Memorial International Association of Streetwalkers, Callgirls, Courtesans, and Allied Sex-Worker Trades has filed a formal protest at the insult to their membership implied by the comparison!
:dubious:

If by “recent” you mean “within the last couple of years.” There ought to be a sticky that’s a Mad Lib:

Today I read a news story at <name of publication>. A mother in <city of under 1,000,000> <terrible injury, past-tense> her <young relative>. I can’t <synonym: understand> anyone who would <terrible injury, present-tense> their <young relative>. WHO’S WITH ME?

I don’t start them myself, I don’t think, but I can understand it. Sometimes you read about something horrific, and one just wants to shout about it. Some things are just… so awful, especially regarding the abuse of children, that it makes one want to not so much discuss it, but react in some way other than reading it and turning to the baseball scores. I know it doesn’t change anything, but it somehow helps.
