Andor Season 2

At that point she was already on alert, it would not be a guaranteed that he could kill her. And killing himself was more important.

There is a moment when she turns her back when she would have been very easy to kill and he could have then killed himself easily too. As it is it’s not as if his suicide method actually worked that well…

What would killing her matter at that point? It was more important to remove himself as a source of information which is what he did.

So one thing that I though was interesting was that Andor at the beginning of season 1 was looking for his long-lost sister…after one or two episodes it was never brought up again. I halfway hought–if this was a lesser show–Kleya was going to be revealed to be the sister once they established the war orphan origin for her.

The whole series is about him having to give up things. Finding his sister was just one of the first.

I’ll have to rewatch (and I will!) but I was under the impression that Maarva had essentially admitted Cassian’s sister was dead during the first season. She tells him that there’s no point in looking for her, which I took to mean that Cassian was the only survivor from Kenari and the other kids eventually succumbed to whatever poison had killed the adults.

I agree that would have sucked.

However, I would have had a good laugh if Bix left because her baby was actually fathered by Wilmon.

Andor is dreaming of his sister when K wakes him right?

As soon as we were back on harvest planet I assumed we’d see Wilmon’s baby with the local girl.

So one thing that just occurred to me while watching ANH - there’s the scene in Rogue One where Mothma and Organa are talking about getting in contact with Obi-Wan. Mothma says “You’ll have to send someone you can trust.” and Bail replies “I would trust her with my life.” As written, it’s just a cool reference to the plot of ANH and foreshadows Leia’s cameo at the end of R1. But now, after Andor, it’s totally a dig - “Send someone you can actually trust, not a covert ISB agent like you planned to have extract me from Coruscant last year.”

Am I the first to mention Mon Mothma’s hair (and clothing) now matches ROTJ? Guess her Imperial hairdresser is no longer available

Interesting to see Mr Mothma - he moved on. Am glad that B2 is happy.
Dedra in prison was a good bit of karma.

Kleya has be one of the most import folks who lived but is not in R1/ANH/ESB/ROTJ.
Wilmon would be another.

The woman he moves on with is Runai Sculdun, who (last we saw) was marrying her son off to his daughter. Yes, that Sculdun. Recently (if not currently) wife of Davo Sculdun, nouveau riche art collector and rumored crimelord.

What an interesting social circle.

I saw this yesterday.

I think maybe the sister storyline was a victim of this show going from five seasons to two. It could also just be thematically one more thing thematically that Cassian sacrificed for the Rebellion.

Tony Gilroy said he left it open in season 1 as something to maybe pick up on later, but realized she was a hole in Andor’s life that drove his character and Gilroy didn’t want to fill it in.

And the reason he refuses to leave anyone behind. I wonder what happened to Dedra after the empire is defeated… about a week later.

The Empire survives a bit longer — until 5 ABY.
Seems the New Republic might want to keep her imprisoned.

Apparently a deleted scene has Perrin tell Mon that he knew about her activities but never revealed them under interrogation.
Kino Loy was going to be in season 2 but they couldn’t find an organic way of including him.

That would have been lame in my opinion.

I just watched the video as well.. I kind of like that for Perrin. Not necessarily the way it was described–not the “See, I loved you more than you realized and more than you love me” but the idea that he respected what she was doing and protected her the best he could.

I also heard the fan-idea that Perrin turned Scanlon in after Mon’s escape and then hooked up with the wife.

There was actually a scene planned of Sculdun refusing to cut the Senate feed when the empire calls to shut Mothma up. Apparently he owned the station. So he might just be in jail.
