Andor Season 2

I expect Luthen to die anticlimactically.

Ok I will go and slap my forehead hard.

I agree we haven’t seen the last of Syrils mother, a Luthen / Deedra face off is coming where they can both adopt an expression like they are smelling the inside of a storm troopers cod piece after an extended deployment to Tatooine. Deedra is not happy about Syril though so maybe it isn’t blasters at dawn , but all those ancient weapons and stuff in Lutherns store have to be there for a reason. Hopefully Klaya isn’t Leias step sister (adopted stepsister?) or anything daft like that. Imperial double agent officer who helped Klaya , well, his kids are going to be in deep peril leading to a tough decision.

It would be nice to see Lutherns whirlybird lightsaber space ship again.

My track record is poor on predictions so , dunno.

I only remember bits from the last 30 minutes of Rogue One, so specific predictions are out. In general, I think the things that these episodes “have to do” is pretty small. Just because an event occurs in the timeline doesn’t mean it has to be on screen or mentioned.

Anyway, I expect Luthen to die / be captured. Possibly on purpose in a way that protects Lonnie’s cover.

No strong predictions for Dedra, Bix, Mon, Vel, Kleya, etc. Wouldn’t surprise me if everyone other than Mon and Cassian die. Kinda think Bix’s fate will be left up in the air.

Speaking of, I always wondered about the holocrons on the shelves there. Seems like something Palpy would want.

50% on my one real prediction, although that half is the easiest possible prediction.

Finished ep.10. Was excellent.

I’m debating starting 12. I want to watch Rogue One immediately afterwards, but that’d be a late night so maybe try to summon some self-discipline and go to bed.

It was good.

Finished them all. I think 10 was the best.

Agreed.

A bit of an awkward situation to write a story in which the big climax is not one, but two movies in the future.

But this, overall, was fantastic. Wonderful story, acting, cinematography, set design. If you remove nostalgia glasses Andor is probably the best Star Wars product. There’s a chance I’m wearing recently-glasses because the show is so relevant.

Rogue One tomorrow.

Ok, so Luthen’s real last name is Lear (Rael backwards). Was Luthen his actual first name? I didn’t catch that.

Silly or not, my biggest gripe of the season was the callous abandoning of B2EMO. I was shocked that they actually dedicated the last moments of the series showing him getting a happy ending. (Oh, and Bix, too.)

Also, we need a spin-off with the adventures of Granny Scatting.

Nehtul. (Probably.)

Dedra Meero’s story ended perfectly IMHO. She tracked down Axis, but nothing went well for her afterwards. No promotion/reward, no big confrontation/shootout with Cassian, no attack of conscience and face turn to the Rebellion. She found out that her obsession wound up revealing the Death Star’s existence to the rebels, and got dropped into the ISB meat grinder. That last scene of her in the Narkina Prison actually made me feel sorry for her.

Luthen’s immediate disposal of a perfectly loyal but now inconvenient colleague perfectly foreshadowed Cassian shooting Tivik.

Even more than Rogue One, episodes 11 & 12 proved that K-2SO is the true Rebel Droid Hero of the Death Star, not that glorified dropbox courier R2-D2. Seriously, Alan Tudyk stole every scene he was in.

And it’s what, about a week in-universe time from Luthen meeting Lonni to Chewie getting screwed out of a medal?

ETA: And I agree with Darren_Garrison - I don’t give a damn that Bix had Cassian Jr. (if anything, she’s even more of a dick for running off while pregnant with his child), but I’m very relieved B2 got a family member back and has another droid to play tag with.

Yeah in hindsight Deedra was always doomed. Authoritarian regimes don’t reward competence. They reward blind loyalty and doing what you’re told. See also what happened to her boss. In fact every ISB agent we knew the name of had a bad end.

Not a fan of “it’s your destiny” stuff they threw in at the end and it still seemed like Bix left because the script said so but all in all a really good second season.

Lagret survived (the Supervisor who let Partagaz eat his blaster), which is somewhat surprising, since he was overseeing the capture of Mon Mothma the previous year. You’d have thought that failure would be at least a career ender, if not a one way ticket to Narkina.

And to be “fair” to the ISB, Meero really did screw up royally. She messed up the arrest and let Luthen attempt to kill himself. And her blatant violation of security rules directly led to the rebels finding out about the Death Star. Even if the arrest of Luthen went perfectly and they got Kleya as well and they did contain the info, you’d expect her to get punished for letting that classified info get compromised at all.

I was especially impressed with how believable young Kleya being young Kleya was.

Sad about Lonni, who is as much as anyone the hero who got the critical information on his own.

A bit perplexed that Luthen and Kleya didn’t have the shop wired to explode.

Would it have killed Andor to say thank you?

Overall excellent.

Plus you know Thrawn got his hands on all those artifacts.

It was a year before the battle of yavin.
