Kudos to the television presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar for winning the best variety special Emmy, thus earning three new EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) members. That brings the total number of EGOT members to 16!
And John Legend is the first African American man to join the club!

I know John Legend is 39, but compared to me he’s just a kid. So being an EGOT winner still seems doubly amazing.
Legend is the second youngest to join the EGOT club, the youngest being composer Robert Lopez, who also was the quickest (10 years) to win all four, and, as of 2018, is the only person to have won all four awards more than once.
And there’s 15 people in the club.
