So, you know how, when you were younger, sometimes it seemed a wise decision to go over a fence rather than around it? Well–not so much once you hit thirty. Yesterday, I was in the bell tower, opening windows to clear out some of the stuffiness, and one of the window latches fell out of the window, bounced down the roof, and hit the ground. I decided I’d better go make sure it didn’t hit anybody’s car, and headed outside to find it. I did find it, in the bushes in front of the building. I walked around the railing on the handicapped ramp, picked it up, and decided that it was only a three-foot railing, I could climb that rather than waste the thirty seconds it would take me to walk back around to the bottom of the ramp.

A short while later, as I lay on the concrete, wondering if I could even get up, I realized my error in judgement. I have a fair amount of padding on my posterior region, but alas, I did not quite land on it. I landed right on my tailbone, which some of you may know, is painful. I spent the rest of the day laying on my stomach with ice on my ass. I can’t sit down for more than five minutes, and for that reason I am not only standing while I type this, but staying home from work.

I am such a moron.

Anyhow, rosie, the weekend sounds like fun–it’s always nice to hear compliments on one’s voice. I sometimes forget I can sing until somebody hears me.

Happy birthday, Tara!

Dotster, get thee to a doctor, if you’re not feeling better!

I’m going to lay back down now. Ouch.

There was a new episode on Friday night. I found it quite by accident. I had no idea the new season was starting, so I was very happy. It was a two-parter, and will be continued this Friday.

I have errands to run, laundry to do, and class tonight. Busy day!

Apparently very early this morning my sister had a nephew. Woot!

Wouldn’t that be her son, not her nephew?

Nice MMP, Rosie. I’m sorry you weren’t feeling 100%. Nice about the compliments!

Happy Birthday, Tara! Backstrap is a really tender cut of venison (deer meat.) Yummy! I haven’t had any in a while.

Drae, ouchie!! You better get that checked out! It could be broken.

My weekend was chock full of cooking. A pot of pinto beans, a boiled chicken, beef fajitas. Yum. And I have about 10 cups of homemade chicken stock.

Warning!!! TMI ahead!!!

Last night after I finally sat down after cooking all day and doing laundry, then doing the dishes, I had to clean up a big pile of dog vomit. Thanks so much, Lucy! I had given her some chicken scraps for her after (our) dinner treat, and then she pigged out and ate all her dry food on top of that. So her tunmy was too full I guess, and she lost it. Dad almost stepped in it! Yuk. It was decidedly chunky and easy to clean up, though. Thank Og for small favors.

End of TMI.

Mr. Rebo is working nights this week. So I left him sleeping in the bed. I’m jealous! But not of him getting home in the middle of the night. The night guy quit, so everyone is rotating weeks to cover for him until they hire somebody else.

Sure, it would be her son. But it would be my nephew. Let’s try not to lose focus here, m’kay?

Good Morning! I am off today, so Maggie and i are going to the dog park this morning. Hopefully, I will get a new or a “new” fridge today.

Dot, I gave my Christmas gifts out in July. If it makes you feel better, I haven’t taken down my Christmas tree since 2002.

Drae, ouch! I hope you didn’t fracture your fanny.

[spoiler]* …*… *… *
Happy Birthday Tara !!!

  • … * …* …*… *… *[/spoiler]

I think if it were broken, I’d probably be in a lot more pain. But if it doesn’t start feeling better in a day or two, I’ll probably go get an x-ray. Maybe they’ll find my head. sigh

There’s a google ad for Sweet Adelines. How jake is that rosie?

Drae [del]BWAAAHAAAHAAAHAAA!!![/del] I mean ouch! That musta hurt.

gt you’re exactly right about ACBG nephew and brand new niece-in-law. Poor ACBG unplugged his land line last night so he could go to sleep. He called me to tell me he was cause he’s was sick of hearin’ about all this. His family will use any reason to all call each other endlessly. Everybody, that is, except for him. I’m beginning to suspect he was left on the doorstep or perhaps bears a strong resemblance to the mailman or milkman cause he acts nuttin’ like what I’ve seen of the rest of his family.

So, there’s this report that the state of Jawja now requires to be done. Except, nobody knows how to do it, even the people who made it up. It’s so full of gobbledygook and bugs it ain’t even funny. The good news is, even though I’ve seen it, I don’t have to do it. I was just asked if I could make heads or tails of it, which I gladly say, I can’t!

My first three thoughts:

  1. Ouch.
  2. I hope I can get up.
  3. Man, I can’t believe nobody saw that, because it must have been hilarious.

I hit the ground so hard, my shoes fell off.

Hey! I forgot to tell you guys the results of latest blood work. The little Hep C buggers are being conquered! In March I started with 1.3 million of the little bastards, and latest test results show I only have 270 of them! Yay! (It’s International Units per milliliter.)

Woo-hoo! Kickin’ it’s ass!

Drae, is it time to get a new ass? I’ll bet you have a crack in it…

d&r…

drae, you should see a doctor about your butt.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I always wanted to say that and not get slapped.

:ducking and running like hell::

Hi all - haven’t read the MMP but I wanted to post the pictures from the Ren Faire before everybody forgot what we were talking about. Here’s the link, and the read-only password should be “Mellon”, case-sensitive.

Ren-Dope Fest

Then click on “Renaissance Faire 2006”.
Draelin, how did you manage to link to the slideshow? Please help!

:smack: Boy, do I feel toopit! I just now realized what Lawn Guylandt meant. And me being an upstater by birth, too. DER!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SPICEY!!!

Mr. Anachi and I eloped. We ran off and got hitched at the Holiday in on Cocoa Beach. The head of housekeeping officiated. The bride was barefoot and wore black. We’d both had previous big weddings and didn’t want to go through that [del]bulls[/del] baloney again. Grammy Anachi and some of Mr. Anachi’s friends were a tad miffed but everybody got over it.

Shall we start calling drae Humpty? Just kidding. Hope your buns get better soon.

Congrats, shib on the new nephew. Wee ones are so much fun when you’re not the one who hasta get up in the middle of the night with em.

Is it wrong of me that I preferred H.G. Wells to the feminine writers of back in the day? All that love stuff! Feh! :stuck_out_tongue:

Kai, love on that little boy cause it won’t be long before Testosterone Poisoning sets in. I’m just sayin…

So I am on pins and needles about the dang photog I arranged for the client headquartered in Chicago. Where’d I put that dang resume file?

Tupug

I think the first thing you have to do is make your albums public, and then you won’t have to keep giving people your password.

Bobbio, MBG, you guys are hilarious. Really. Stop. My sides. (And my ass.)

Ok, having read the whole MMP now I can respond. Although I must admit I didn’t read the OP. Not enough paragraphs for Monday morning.

Happy Birthday, Tara!

[del]Humpty[/del] Draelin, hope you feel better. Now that I’ve seen you and know what you look like, etc., I can totally imagine you trying to go over the fence and whump! Sorry.

And put me with Pugs. I hate Jane Austen and have never been able to read her. Put me squarely in the camp with H.G. Wells and sci-fi authors.

Our power went out Saturday night! And right when we were 3/4 of the way through the movie Signs*. A little spooky.

*Not that I like the movie, but as anu-lala once said, I like to watch his stuff because more Indians should be in the arts.

Anyway, while the end:

Where the aliens were allergic to water was inherently stupid, I’ve come to the conclusion the aliens are not the point of the movie at all. The whole point was signs, and learning to recognize them when they smack you in the face.

I also read the book the Exorcist last week. I plan to rent the movie, but I will watch it in the bright light of morning. The book was quite good.

Hey, I got you beat for minimalist weddings. Courthouse, me, hubster, two kids. That’s it. Two people we don’t know are witnesses!

kaiwik, loved your post with all the fish and the seals and the deer meat. I think about you in odd moments during the day, living a life I can’t even imagine in Alaska! (Except for what I saw in Northern Exposure!)

So, tree up since 2002, Dogster? I’m officially impressed.

I have joyous news. All chefs please join me in the squealing: I now have a Kitchen Aid mixer.

That is all.

Off to look at Meeks’ pix.

I would. I really would. But after the last time when it was public, you might recall, I mentioned to you guys about all the nasty little comments I was getting about my family. Like I said, I don’t really care what people say about me, but my family is too much. I generally only link freely in the MMP now since I know you guys are above all that! Although those guys might read the MMP, too, but what are you gonna do?
By the way, in my pictures there’s a pirate ship. A little one. I WANT IT.
