I thought about using my roommate’s cane, but not only does it come up almost to my boobs because she’s seven inches taller than me, but it made me feel too much like House.

Wael, Part 2 of the carpet installation was this morning and went off without a hitch pretty much. Now I can actually set the room up as a guest room in time for my lil’ bro, Tom, who gets in on Friday.
Friday also happens to be the install date for the granite counter tops for the Master Bath. We’re closing in on it, folks!

Puggy if it’ll make ya feel any better, I just had to talk about billing. I was on the phone with a supplier who asked me if we had received a certain shipment of product. Yes indeed said I on 9/15. He then stated that he would be billing me for it. I said hold on there, it ain’t me you bill it’s the company we finish the product and ship to you bill. He said, Oh #@%* I’m glad I called you first, cause I knew that. Thus, billing avoided. I like this guy. #@%* is one of his favorite words.

Someone upthread asked about backstrap, and someone else answered that it is the tenderest part of the deer. 'Tis true, but more specifically it is the two long strips of meat which runs along the spine. On a beef it is where filet steaks are cut from, on a deer the strips are not very big around, but sliced and panfried they are lucious!
In keeping with TLAPD, I will share that one of my poms is a pirate dog! No, really! Niki will squint one of his eyes closed when he wants attention (as in “Look Mom, I have an owie!”) and when I growl an “Arrr” at him, he responds with an “Arrr” right back! He would play that game forever if I would too! Silly pomeranian!
Last night skiffman and I salted a five pound bucket of silver salmon for the winter. I mostly use it to make pickled fish, which is so yummy, but it can also be rinsed and used for chowder, fish patties, etc.
Drae several years ago I was moving the pieces of the waterbed down 14 concrete steps to the house we lived in then. It had been icy, and I was wearing my hightops. Thankfully I had the two long side boards under one arm, because as I took the first step my feet flew out from under me and I went down the entire set of stairs on my hip and shoulder. As I laid at the bottom of the stairs my kids and the skiffman were laughing hysterically, while the neighbors rushed over to see if I was alive! If I hadn’t had the boards under my arm, which saved both my tailbone and my head, I would have probably gotten hurt badly, as it was I had huge black bruises on both my hip and shoulder (for weeks) and the wind knocked out of me. I was very sore, but no real damage done except to my pride. I totally sympathise with your (hehehe) pain in the ass.
Got my rope. Got my half-price lunch.

I’ve had a dull and boring day. Work, work, work. I’s been a good girl, but I’s about sick to death of being a good girl. So I think this evening I’ll be bad and rot my brains in front of the teevee. That seems like a good way to pass the time. Laughing at Jerry Springer dancing is always good entertainment.
I’m having someone look at my wedding gown tonight to see if she can alter it for me. Since she’s the first person that was recommended to me out here, keep your fingers crossed that this works out. I don’t want to have to keep looking for someone!

The cats hate it when I got out of town, and are a pain in the butt when I get back. It is hard to do anything with 8 cats underfoot, on the keyboard, in front of the monitor, etc.
I had lunch with my librarian friend today and we bitched about the school system, which owns the library system. I’m not sure what you have to do to get fired by the school system, but I don’t think anyone has done it yet. One guy was caught red-handed stealing construction materials. When he appealed his dismissal, the school board reinstated him - to the very place he was caught stealing from! My friend has been trying to get rid of a worthless admin assistant for over two years with no success. The assistant has not worked a full week (5 days) in at least a year. She always misses either a Friday or a Monday - and leaves early at least once a week. She sued because they were actually making her work! Her doctor gave her a handicapped permit because she had foot surgery - yet she wears 3 inch heels to work every day. Grrr. My friend is developing an ulcer trying to deal with this stupid twit.
I am doing laundry. Envy me.
