Anne Heche: Actress, lost soul, burn victim [Update: She has passed]

When you google her, the results list shows wiki saying “she is” while the page itself says “she was”. It’ll take some time for Google’s crawlers to update.

Edited: but the results list also includes a death date.

Oh, sorry - I just assumed the lady living in the house was the owner. I stand corrected. I hope the owner had good insurance on it.

A lot depends on her particular situation, which we don’t and won’t know in detail.

But even if her major organs are unusable other tissues might be - bone, for example, and her corneas if they aren’t damaged and, ironically for someone dying of burns, perhaps some of her skin if there are sufficient portions undamaged. It depends on how extensive the burns were, something else we don’t know.

I found it telling this morning that her family’s statement, even when she wasn’t yet reported as dead by anyone, referred to Ms. Heche in the past tense. I heard the official announcement of her death on the way home from work today.

I agree. Piper Dad used to say “When I die, use “die” in the obit, not some silly euphemism.” We did.

Perhaps Conrad said it best: “Mistah Kurtz–he dead.”

Final journey?

I read a bit of her Wikipedia article, about the things that happened to her as a child, and it is so sad.

I hope she finds the peace in Heaven that was cruelly taken from her on Earth.

To the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns.

I am afraid to ask, and hope I will not get warned, but did anyone have her in the Death Pool?

Perhaps that would be a better question for the death pool thread, eh?

I was wondering the same thing. 47 points is a lot.

Try actually looking in the Death Pool thread. This thread isn’t the place for musing over who wins points on her death. Didn’t @susan’s post clue you in??

She was wearing a seatbelt just prior to the crash when she had the accident at the garage. So it was probably not a head impact. Between that and an airbag she probably survived the physical impact only to face a long period of oxygen deprivation.

Maybe the accident at the garage was a mental tipping point.

Her sons are 13 and 20, I can’t imagine how horrible this week has been for them.

This summary of her life and career is probably a movie in itself. She seemed to fall in love with the people she worked with. Nothing unusual about that except it’s done under a microscope of fame.

Under the best of conditions it’s hard on the children of people who are famous. I hope they come out of this OK.

Did she ever have a relationship with Harrison Ford?

Early reports said it took 30 minutes to remove her from the car, also that she had pulmonary damage. I wonder if they were able to get to her with oxygen at any point? Thirty minutes is a long time to inhale smoke. I’m surprised she was able to sit up on the stretcher.

I don’t think I ever saw her in anything, but her backstory reads like a nightmare life. I feel sad she couldn’t find peace while she was alive.

Perhaps tasteless to bring up in a remembrance topic?

I regretted it soon. How can I delete my post?

I, no mod, think your just now post takes care of things.
