This one hits too close to home. I have distant relatives named Bobo. Some Aunts & Uncles by marriage that I knew as a kid. They’ve been dead over thirty years. Still, it’s an unusual family name and I bet somewhere in the family tree there’s probably a common ancestor. It’s a different state and any family connection may be several generations back.
Something about this story smells fishy to me. Her older brother (she’s 20) claims to have seen a man dragging her into the woods, and he goes into the house and calls police? He doesn’t go after them and try to stop him? What kind of older brother does that? I have two brothers, and I’m one hundred percent sure that both of them would risk their lives to save mine, not duck into the house to call 911.
That’s true. Something does seem weird. Now they are saying the brother only saw someone talking to her and called 911 after finding blood outside. I bet the cops are suspicious.
Who abducts a girl on foot? So far they are finding evidence they are in the woods somewhere. The guy didn’t have a get away car ready?? Very strange unless he lives close by.
I hope the searchers find more stuff. Sounds like the girl is leaving stuff behind as a trail. They found her lunchbox earlier.
I’m pretty sure my reaction to seeing a relative of mine being dragged into the woods by anyone would be jumping up and running after them. Either the facts have been mixed up or the brother’s an especially cowardly person. Or he’s involved.
I live pretty close to there, and was just telling my fiance about everything said here and he just told me that one of the guys he works with, his wife goes to church with the mother of the girl, and the girl’s brother sincerely believed the man was the boyfriend until he saw the blood.
But I still have a :dubious: reaction to it. Why the woods? Why not grab her from the front and into a get away car?
I wonder if this is a badly thought out kidnap? The news says country star Whitney Duncan is related to the family. Someone may want some money. If so, then maybe Holly hasn’t been harmed.
It still doesn’t explain abducting someone and taking off on foot. That makes no sense at all.
They are using twitter extensively to raise support and give updates. A local reporter, will nunley, is giving twitter updates from the search command center. Most of the country music stars are sending support through twitter or facebook. This case could hinge on leads called in. They had another long day of searching Sunday.
GMA covered the case this morning. Several interviews.
I’ve been surprised at the turn out for searchers. Huge effort with ATV’s, horses and people on foot. Some people in my church even talked about driving over and helping. It’s about four hours from us. Right now, it sounds like they have all the people they need.
They had a candlelight memorial service tonight. They estimate over 3,000 people attended.
Some friends and I are driving over Friday evening with our ATV’s. We are all in the same deer club. We can’t sit by any longer. I’ve helped with search & rescue before with kids and hunters that got lost. The last time it was an elderly man that had wandered off from a nursing home. A criminal case like this will be different. The main thing is to get as many ATV’s and people searching as possible. From what I’ve read, that area is very heavily wooded and under populated. They’ll probably be over a thousand people searching again this weekend. Hopefully, by then they’ll have a better idea where to search.
Finally, an arrest has been made in the Holly Bobo case. Almost three years since she disappeared from her family’s driveway. This case struck too close to home for me.
15 min press conference with the Sheriff, TBI, and FBI. They briefly talk about the Grand Jury Indictment charging Zach Adams with aggravated Kidnapping and Felony Murder.
I know this small rural community has to be hurting. Everybody knows each other and to find out someone this violent was hiding in plain sight has to be unsettling. Adams had some meth charges but wasn’t a registered sex offender.
