Y’all miss me this mornin’? I met OYKW for brekkie and then I went to meet with some participants in town that start trainin’ early bein’ as they work in the kitchen where meals on wheels are prepared. Then I had a conference call. The whirlwind excitatement of irk just never ends!
Not rainy here yet but it will before long. Really cloudy and muggy out even though the temp thingy says it’s just 86 degrees, it feels a lot hotter. A definite weather front is approachin’.
Now it’s time for N.O.L. Leftovers from last night.
flytrap although I have gotten into the habit of steamin’ most veggies, beans need seasonin’ IMHO so I like usin’ ham or bacon as a seasonin’.
Well I have a few blessed hours alone, everybody is gone except Sah-son who went to bed.
I can’t decide what to do first.
I have to put in another load of laundry, I have a ton of phone calls to make and don’t have to worry about the nosies listening in. Every now and then I say something outlandish so see if it gets back to me.
I’d like to get up in the attic to see what all I have up there but that can wait until closer to the move date. I think I have a bunch of kitchen stuff up there.
Well back to work, nothing is getting done sitting here on my ass.
Today I have an appointment with Mediacom cable between the hours of 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. I say I don’t need the stoopid little digital converter boxex as my tvs are already digital ready. This shall be determined. I fully expect to get to take the stoopid things back to the Mediacom office. I may even go all “neener, neener, neener” on 'em.
My new perfume for the day, that I just accidently applied to myself, is Eau de Soy Sauce. Only available from your local chinese takeout. Get yours now before they are gone.
swampy, everyone deserves a good neener neener neener from time to time, don’t they? And actually, about 2 seconds before I got to your “did anyone miss me this morning?” post, I was thinking "hey look at these time stamps… where is swampy’s “up and caffinatin’ post? I want to know what temperature it is in Georgia (American of course)”
sahirrnee, hope your 4 hours to yourself are very productive and wonderful!
My day is going well. Not too much to say. Not too much blurf out in the gulf today, thank goodness!
Well, I had a productive time of it. We stopped at the hardware store for some PVC caps that **FCD **needed. I deposited a check in the credit union, then I picked up my meds at CVS. Next stop was WalMart where I got everything on my list and checked out in record time, which is good, because we were running late-ish.
We drove thru Roy Rogers for a quickie lunch, then drove to the place where we were supposed to check the crabber. Except she’d come in an hour early without posting notification of her changed schedule. And it turned out I was being QC/QA checked today, and they’re required to arrive half an hour before I’m supposed to get there. That meant they were present when the boat came back in, so they did the monitor check. When we arrived, the new guy introduced himself to us, told us the monitoring was done, but we were OK because we arrived when we were supposed to. So we got paid just for driving over there. Yay!
After a wee bit of chatting, we left and went to Calvert marina - it used to be a Navy Amphib Base in WWII - and ate our lunch while looking at the boats. Then we came home. Errands done. Overall, very productive. So Yay again!
Laundry is done except I need to get Sah-son to carry it upstairs for me.
Lunch was leftovers from Sunday’s party. I am never one to turn down a plate to take home. She piled it so high I am getting 4 meals out of it. Still have leftovers from pizza day too so I am good to go until tomorrow and since there is lots of spaghetti in the fridge I should be good until Friday.
I love leftovers.
So I’ve got the insurance taken care of. The girl next door is taking over the pet sitting so that is taken care of. One of my clients wants to meet her this week.
I still have a mess of clients I need to call. I am dreading the calls, most of these people I’ve been sitting for 10+ years and I am going to miss them and their pets.
The neighbor is looking forward to starting, she is outgoing and loves animals so its a good match for her. I warned her about all the negatives and she is good with it.
It’s funny to because she is the one who got me started all those years ago. I was looking for something to do and ran across an article on pet sitting. She was about 9 years old and made up fliers for me. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings so I put out the fliers and the business was born.
Now I really have to buckle down and get a title company. I said I would do it today and I haven’t.
And write thank you notes for Sah-sons graduation gifts. He has to write the notes but I will help by addressing the envelopes. I do want it to get done in under 24 hours and if he writes out the envelopes we could be here for a week.
And call the rest of my clients.
I don’t know what I do all day because it feels like I am busy but I sure seem to be getting not much done.
I’m trying to give away all the furniture and stuff I don’t need, which has meant photographing everything and trying to work out if anyone wants any of this junk. I’m not looking forward to trying to get the sofa out- we did a proper Dirk Gently job on the way in.
No one wants a comfy armchair do they? I have two- they don’t match at all.
Got the car registration done and a new kibble into the cat (we’re switching her to something easier and less expensive to obtain, she flatly rejected new choice #1, new choice #2 has been accepted). Still got some car issues (grr), but at least it’s legal to drive it for another two years.
And I figured out how to block unwanted calls - those with hidden numbers and those that are annoying me. Yay! Evenings should be lots quieter for a while.
And temps are supposed to drop into the low 60s tonight, so windows will be opened - YAAAAAAY! We’ve got several mild days ahead and I am very happy.
Back from the day out with my German (aka birth) Family. The Old Shack in the Woods was visited, lunch was et, the Nature Center was visited, and ice cream was had by all.
I have officially had it with Nibblesthe Nature Center Groundhog. She is off display for the season, like the little prima donna she is. The last time I went, on my birthday last year, she was asleep and not viewable. I am now switching my favorite Nature Center animal affiliation over to the Least Weasel who was up and running around and absolutely adorable today.
I have declared all out war on Mediacom Cable. Oh yeah, it’s on baybee! So fine if’n I do need the stoopid boxes but they should work. Two I’m told were not programmed right for hd tvs. A signal can get sent to fix that. So two were workin’ and two weren’t. Then one of the workin’ ones decided not to work. Calls to Mediacom after the fool they call a tech left have been to no avail. Tomorrow or Thursday (depends on the day I can get there) I shall pack up the three that don’t work, take 'em to the local office and tell them I need ones that work. I may or may not have a hissy fit. That is TBD.
We swiped the General’s dindin tonight. I have leftovers for tomorrow. YUM!
Plus we have tstorms a brewin’. YAY! I likes to go sleepy bye to the sounds of a tstorm.
